i have these shoes. they´re kind of bulky and have a less snug fit in the toe box than other shoe models i have tried. Still they feel very stable while providing a fair amount of cushioning.
I was able to try on both the 1224 and the 859 (not sure how different the 858 is from the 859) and I'll say this. The 859 is more stable as the extended web covers about 15% more heel area. The 1224 is lighter because it incorporates a pillar design in its heel instead of a complete block. The other main difference is that the 859 has Acteva and the 1224 has Absorb DTS. In short, 859 = more stable, heavier; 1224 = more cushioning, lighter. Today I bought the more expensive 1224.
