@nealsavage01 - Nirvana comes up when you talk about the Pixies because Kurt Cobain really liked them and in fact thought he was more or less ripping off their style in a lot of his songs. The Pixies used the quiet verse, loud chorus song structure, and Cobain used that for a lot of his songs too. Cobain helped introduce this band to a lot of people who may have otherwise not heard of them, myself included.
