  • This is way more realistic than American wrestling. They look like they're actually fighting.

  • Inoki always looked like a Japanese version of Lurch. UGLEE!

  • Hogan had hair?

  • antonio inoki's entrance is crazy

  • Hogan is still handsome.

  • Hogan could wrestle, there was just no need for him to in his US prime. When the crowd is going wild for the basic stuff Hogan did there's no need to do chain wrestling or drop kicks...

  • Who say Hulk Hogan Cannot wrestle? you can not be more wrong, the Almighty Hulkster.

  • Im not a Hogan fan but to his defense hes 35 here... During the mid 90's he was 45.. Hes no Ric Flair

  • Man Hulk Hogan is huge. He takes one step in the ring or blinks I notice him. He kept the crowd into the match with his movement.

  • To bad vinnie mac wouldn't let the hulkster put on a show like this

  • the fact Hogan did actually know more than 2 moves just makes me hate him more

  • Who says the Hulkster cannot wrestle if can get crowd into with doing minimum moves then why kill himself?

  • I'm so sick of people whining that Hogan couldn't wrestle... this is proof DAMN IT!

  • @shizeninho

cause they script the matches in wwe and he only has to do hes 3 crappy moves but in japan they would kick hes ass LOL

  • Inoki was the first Japanese WWF Champion after beating Bob Backlund, then he was stripped of the title and WWE has not acknowledge it. That was until 1993 when Yokozuna beat Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 9 when Mr. Fuji throw the salt at the Hitmans eyes. This was the history moment and in Vince McMahon's ideas to declare Yokozuna as the first Japanese WWF Champion.

  • At the time, the IWGP Title was a league title. It wasn't until 1987 when it officially became the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, where Antonio Inoki defeated Masa Saito in the 1987 IWGP Tournament Final to become the first ever IWGP Heavyweight Champion.

  • Most wrestling is a ridiculous soap opera with people who fake pain and cry like bitches. Then, as if it's not enough, the matches are usually planned in advance. When I see the real deal like this, IT IS SO MUCH BETTER! Sure it's ok to fake certain punches and very dangerous stunts, but stop making full matches that way! I wan't to see people getting punched lightly in order to be able to get thrown down the top of a cage and onto tumtacs and such!

  • What belt is that? Was he WWF champ when this was shot? I didn't think he went to Japan after he won the WWF belt. Or is this NWA or AWA days?

  • @hardenswift That's the original IWGP Heavyweight Championship belt.

  • the rock japanese

  • @1wwetnafan I guess those people don't realize it's not really "wrestling".

  • HULKMANIAAAA!!!!

  • for all u "haters" or those who are too young to understand .Antonio Inoki is like Hulk Hogan Ric Flair Rolled into one in Japan he really is GOD in Japan and Whewnever Hulk Hogan went to Japan he actually wrestled using Submissions and technical wrestling like his original teacher taught him

  • LOL! Awesome show. Hulk Hogan looked really good.

  • I always loved the character Thunderlips from Rocky 3

  • Is that real wrestling or just fiction like WWF ?

  • @SpitTanker it's not all fiction you asshole! the moves hurt. matches are usually planned but it's not all fiction!

  • ...ok being able to do a thousand rest holds in a match doesnt make him any better than he was in america...thats just the style that was effective in Japan...really...he is still shit compared to many other Puro stars even Gaijin...soooo just because u see Hogan doing Shawn Michael's-esqu chain moves that are pretty basic doesnt mean he was any better

  • epic!

  • @yrrah123 the winners may be predetermined but double crosses do and did happen especially overseas you're the moron!

  • @oldschool6804 how am I a moron lol i just said the word " epic" ?

  • @yrrah123 that was directed for the guy below you i apologise.

  • This needs to be shown to wrestling fans and wrestlers. The biggest secret in wrestling. Hogan can actually wrestle.

  • A lot of people don't know that Hogan was actually the first IWGP champion after beating Inoki via a legitimate KO in the '83 Grand Prix Final. This made Inoki look weak in a lot of fan's eyes. This was Inoki's rematch for his honor and the title.

  • @81carlos haha legitimate KO .. newsflash IN WRESTLING, THE WINNERS IS PRE-DETERMINATED BY THE PROMOTER... moron.

  • @Frequent2001 Whoa! Relax kid! It's only wrestling and I've probably have been watching it longer then you have! FYI Inoki was supposed to win the match in 1983,but Hogan accidentally hit Inoki too hard and knocked him out toward the end. Have you even watched that match? Look it up!

  • @81carlos That's a myth, it was a fixed finish to get the newspapers in Japan talking. Worked very well, and nobody kayfabes better than Inoki.

  • inoki or imoteph?:P impoteph! imoteph!

  • guess hogan really could work a match... he was just too lazy and greedy to do it in america

  • @shizeninho Has nothing to do with laziness or greed...before UFC became eve so popular in America, there was no place for submission or shoot style wrestling on the corporate pro wrestling circuit.

  • @shizeninho He had been groomed for so long through the NWA, there was no way he had no technical ability. He worked legendary matches in WWF, but used a different formula. Americans wanted larger than life characters. They weren't really concerned with the technical aspects. He worked the crowd; which proved much more effective.

  • @shizeninho actually no. Japan's schedules are less then americas. in america, you are on the road 200+ nights a year obviously. so if you are a top dog, Vince wants you to stick around so you have a limited move set. that's why after Rock became a main eventer, you didn't see him doing dropkicks and stuff cuz vince gives basic moves to his top guys to protect them.

  • @shizeninho Hogan sadi that in America, he was expected to wrestle like a standard big man of the era. And of course considering the man's workload, a limited moveset was necessary to relieve strain. Apparently it was vince's idea, which wouldn't surprise me given the man's track record, although we must remeber this is HOGAN who said this. Still I wonder how his career would've been like if he had used all of his in-ring skill.

  • @shizeninho he just realised that he could get the same reaction by doing less. smart move, cos then he always had the option to break out something new if he needed

  • @shizeninho No its because WWE is restricting the wrestlers

  • @shizeninho No why do all that if can get crowd into sell out arena and be over he he was doing amount moves he did then do all that if you its not need i mean really why would want more effort on your body come on

  • @shizeninho Actually it's our own faults. In the US, fans demanded strong moves from big men. In Japan, they demanded actual skill and realism since it was sold as real to them. If Vince would have told Hogan to do this here, it would have probably been different. But instead he wanted Hulk to be a monster.

  • @TWB141...i agree people dont see that...alot of times vince has change wrestlers styles by forbidding them to do certain moves like he did to rvd and others..before hulk came to wwe and hulk-a-mania was already hot in japan and awa hulk was putting up great matches like these and ones with bockwinkel awa really blew it by not letting hogan keep title those matches were fun man..i agree also with u.s fans demanding wrestlers to use good moves as if wrestling is real..fuck i want to be entertain

  • @shizeninho you obviously didnt watch hulk hogan's awa matches...hulk hogan might be bit egoistical just like the greatest in the biz ric flair had his ego,hbk had his,hhh has his ect hulk just stands out because wether we all like it or not he's the greatest sports entertainer ever i dont care what vince led ppl to believe ..i dont think hulk got lazy he just got older and cnt quit what he loves..rock vs hogan was best match at that wrestlemania and how old was hogan??..hulk always entertained

  • lol at the peopel saying hulk had no skills he actually was a pretty good wrestler but he only used in japan

  • ROFL, Nobuhiko Takada leading the way for Inoki in the beginning @ :44

  • hell nawh.Who ever thought hulk hogan could be a technical wrestler.I wish we could have seen more of this during his wwe /wcw career

  • hogan respects japan tradition

    hogan is a legend

  • I take it this is before Hulkamania? I seem to remember hulk hogan reaching his height in popularity about 1989-1992.

  • Hulk Hogan started balding at the age of 12. :D

  • Sick technical wrestling Hogan and Inoki.

  • Ali suffered true damage to his legs in his fight against Inoki. Angelo Dundee was pissed with Inoki's people because Ali had a fight with Ken Norton that September. Ali's legs were damaged so bad, he couldn't dance and move against Ken Norton and had to fight him flat footed. Ali just slipped by on a close decision vs. Norton. The Inoki fight took a lot out of Ali - it was real!!!!

  • Hogan COULD wrestle! Who knew? Thanx to Vince, we never did.

  • usually the japanese are quiet ,and observe the match...this one, they were goin ape shit lol

  • @gazz12345a Fake is fake. who cares?

  • @gazz12345a The only moron is you. Study a little bit more. This match doesn't come anywhere close to the "most boring". Also, while it isn't the best proof, it does showcase Hogan's technical skill. And lastly, don't get me started on these new generation "gym heroes".

  • @ledzkreep You look like someone who has a problem with gym.

  • @gazz12345a Changing the subject just proves my point. :-)

  • @ledzkreep Hogan can't wrestle for shit, thats all there is to it. He had a good look because of steroids and he was given a push as a superhero carrying an american flag who had to wrestle super heels like Iron Sheik, Roddy Piper and The Undertaker. Anyone could have gotten over with the 1980s marks with that golden ticket.

The young guys coming through today are far more talented inside and outside the ring than Hogan ever was.

  • @gazz12345a Did Luger? Did Sting? No, they didn't even come close to the same level as hogan in terms of drawing fans. Period. You can wrestle a five star match in front of 80 people or you can set up a great story and tell it's drama in the ring in front of 80,000 people. One makes money, the other does not.

  • @DarthKripple Back in those days the Ultimate Warrior used to draw money simply by running to the ring, shaking the ropes and clotheslining people (standard warrior match) it ain't that easy now. If Hogan were only starting out today he wouldn't be a draw at all.

  • @gazz12345a And Goldberg drew the same way, though not nearly as well. He had no personality or mic skills and lacked a natural connection to the fans. If you watch the Match up of Hogan/Warrior vs Lesnar/Goldberg it's nearly move for move the same match, but one got massive pop. Both Hogan and Warrior had charisma Goldberg and Lesnar who are mirror images of the same gimmicks didn't get over because they lacked that key ingredient.

  • @DarthKripple No. It didn't get over b/c fans are smarter nowadays....

  • @DarthKripple i agree charisma is the most important thing in wrestling wether ppl like it or not..thats why its sports ENTERTAINMENT..hogan had that he-man super hero look that stand out back in the 80s ..i used to watch wrestling on occasions when backlund was champ but when hogan came back as a good guy i watch wrestling always never missed it even on his debut as a heel he had that look that captivated..the rock is another example very charismatic

  • @gazz12345a You realize it's not really "wrestling"?

  • @gazz12345a i'm glad that you're giving credit to the fucking heels man, because that point seems to get lost in a lot of hogan arguments.

  • Comment removed

  • I would've love to see Riki Choshu lariat Hogan, due to the argument during introductions.

  • hogan would lose in a real fight. inoki whooped ali's ass in a real fight.

  • is this like wwe ....... Fake ?

  • Fight starts at 4:15

  • 猪木の入場をエスコートしている若手のなかに若かりし頃の後藤達俊がいるけど松平健ソックリでイケメンやんww

  • At 5:33, Hogan is using the crossfaced chickenwing...that's some good shit right there. Anyone who said Hogan couldn't wrestle to save his life should watch this

  • Holy shit! Did I just hear Bruce Lee's Game of Death theme for Inoki's entrance.

  • @gemini6179 No but it sounds alot like it !! The beat is a little more cheerfull but it seems to use trumpets as well =P Nice comparisson though i wud never notice something like that hehe

  • @gemini6179 I think the song's name is "Inoki Bom Ba Ye". Remember,Ali fought Inoki a few years before this in the first official MMA match in history and destroyed Ali's legs with kicks. When Ali fought Foreman in Africa, the fans there would yell "Bomb ba ye Ali"(Kill him Ali in African).Ali let Inoki borrow this out of respect after their fight.Look it up.Ali vs Inoki.

  • Comment removed

  • They way Inoki gets all pumped at 4:28 is inspirational!

  • 4:29 srs?

  • Hey,japonese man.Why do you left your muscles at home?

  • 3:16

what's that flying into the ring? toilet paper?

  • @Kaarle15 . Its some type of colored stringed paper. I don't know the exact name for it. It's also done in ROH to most of the Japan stars that wrestle there. Its a sign of respect.

  • @mudbuttkilla85 - They're just streamers, actually, like the kind you'd hang up at birthday parties

  • @Kaarle15 No, it's streamers.

  • Shoot, even I want to chant,

    "Inoki! Inoki! Inoki! Inoki!"

    after watching this.

  • This match sort of reminds me of the "Flay vs. Morimoto" match from the original Iron Chef. lol

  • Hot Abdominal Stretch 8:35

  • @bhug3996 In Japan, They call it "Cobra twist." 8:37

    Sounds hurt?

  • JAW vs JAW

  • hogan used that spinning drop toe hold into a face lock or whatever twice.. i dont think the crowd liked that

  • if thats wat u calls wrestling moves, then dogy style is kung fu

  • I'm sure Inoki did fight Ali in a shoot style gimmick and Ali lost.

  • Inoki is a legend and it's nice to see Hulk hook, funny thing is he's trained by Hiro Matsuda so he should know how to hook but rarely does specially in America where he has that power-brawler style.

  • wat the fuck r they doing at 8:46, like the hulk is gettin shagged in a certian karma sutra position hahaha

  • @wild0hawk That's an octopus hold XD

  • @AmAxel35 actually its an abdominal stretch...

  • @wild0hawk lol you must be a Hogan fan. You seem to not recognize wrestling moves when you see them.

  • John Cena the next Hulk Hogan?! HAHA, lets see that son of a bitch go to Japan and get his assed handed to him.

  • Hulk Hogan raped me

  • Hogan looks like a giant.

  • It's so sad that this wouldn't and still won't pop in America for the masses. Look at Hulkster go! You'd figure he was an accomplished amateur that went the wrasslin' route.

  • no matter how much the deny it. hogan was wwf & iwgp champ at the same time. that is history. hogan is announce as iwgp champ.

  • was hogan WWF champ here?

  • @adatnicca YES ONE OF THE REASON WHY HE LEFT AWA. THEY WANTED HIS JAPAN MONEY IF THE GAVE HIM THE AWA TITLE. VINCE LET HIM KEPP IT

  • Never heard a crowd go crazy for an abdominal stretch until now...awesome

  • actually hogan could wrestle!

  • Hogan is so big, the Japanese seems 30% smaller in size and had tiny arms...

  • Yeah, after watching this match I gained a bit more respect for The Hulkster

  • In defense of Hogan, why should he of had to bust out the major artillery in the U.S. if he didn't have to? That's like expecting a guy to go into work on a vacation day with pay. You'd be fucking mental to do that. If sitting in a 10 minute headlock every night pops the crowds, you'd bet your ass I'd do that shit every night until it ran it's course, and in Hogan's case, his basic move set got the job done for 20 years

  • I know is fake , but you can see some real moves here

  • hogan used stf XD

  • Shit match.

  • Where the hell did this Hulk Hogan go? When he was in Japan, that man was a really good technical wrestler. Now he's some terrible shit!

  • ive never heared a japanese crowed so pumped up in my life there usually so humble and respectful for everyone but this is loud.

  • @rvdrulz010101010 プロレスイベントで群集が興奮してあげるよ。 言わなくても誰もそうするよ。

  • Hogan doesnt look as big here as he did in his prime in wwf

  • Hogan probably ought to go to Bosley and get some hair.

  • You guys should show some respect. Without these two guys, pro wrestling would never be like it is today.

  • @rockinrondogg its more like they treat it as being that way, it's less story telling and more about who is the best. Kind of like in Ring of Honor I think. But I'm not that well informed about these things but yeah you are kind of right... But Inoki is actually a better fighter than Hogan I believe, I've read all the comments and Inoki actually had some real fights while Hogan only did wrestling. Inoki almost fought Ali once I believe! =D

  • @butoden Inoki did fight Ali in Japan and it went to a 15 round draw as far as I know

  • @butoden Puro has storytelling. Especially NJPW.

Inoki did fight Ali but because of shenanigans from Ali the match was confusing.

  • @princesstamika Didnt they limit his moves to kicking from the ground only or something? They did have a sparring match which was more realistic and i concider it as the real fight which never happened basically, the actual inoki vs ali fight was rediculous

  • @rockinrondogg Inoki was taking part in MMA before you knew what it was, he matched himself against some of the top guys from all different disciplines. Some of the matches were worked, but his match against Muhammed Ali wasn't, their fight ended in a draw, Inoki wasn't allowed to do certain throws and so forth so spent most of the match kicking Ali's ankles.

  • hogan had his best matches in japan

  • @konshuss Why can't he do that in his Home Nation?

  • 痺れるね

    橋本、藤波、高田、猪木の順の入場ですか

    。。。。

    甦れ新日、、、

  • Haha...I suppose, what with the Chaingangs and all. I mean, it's Hogan and Inoki, what were you expecting?

  • @maxpower789z

well nothing more I just pointed it out;)... there is more action in todays wrestling

  • Yeah, just not as much excitement!

    'Cept maybe in ROH.

  • Antonio Inoki is berry beautiful .

  • Holy shit, you mean wrestling is fake?????

C'mon, dude, we're well aware of what you just told us.

  • @howtobefighter

    of course they are

  • wow i'd never thought hogan could wrrestle. I thought all he knows body slam and leg drop

  • is this real

  • holy shit hogan is ....wrestling? are you serious?

  • than you never seen a japanese hogan match other then this one.

  • I look at Antonio Inoki the same way I look at the NES Pro Wrestling character based on him, Fighter Hayabusa.

  • Damn. Dude's like a japanese Goldberg.

  • holy shit, had no idea Hulk Hogan could wrestle this good...hope TNA doesnt fuck him up and they let him wrestle like this

  • Hogan actually had allot more techincal skills then people give him credit for....he would use them in Japan..where the fan base was more knoweldgeable in true martial arts....in america he found that big over the top moves and lots of acting goes over better with american fans.....

  • @gqmighty well-stated, exactly

  • thanks..its nice to get a comment back that doesnt start with "your a fag" or something..lol

  • @gqmighty no problem. i recognize logic when i see it

  • @gqmighty ur a fag

  • @joeajay oh good comeback troll

  • @gqmighty I would think so. He is the first IWGP Heavyweight Champion. And that was in 82' or 83'.

  • @gqmighty Shame isn't it?

  • People really love him :D

  • Oh Shit I was wrong he was IWGP Champ. I thought never was IWGP champion. I corrected one comment on the Muta/Hogan Match when he said he was IWGP Champion. But I dont get it. I thought the Belt came in 1987 and Inoki was the IWGP Champion. Now I'm getting confused because I thought at that time, the IWGP was just a tournament(Now called the G1-Climax).

  • Hogan being the total heel here! Awesome! Gets right in Inoki's face! "You're going down, brother!!" I love it!

  • LOL. What's all that crap they're throwing in the ring? Crazy Japanese...

  • How the hell is Hogan supposed to hit Inoki when his chin is in the way? XD

    Good match, though.

  • Wow, what an awesome crowd for such a match =D

  • its quagmire in real life giggity giggity

  • hahaha when hogan came in, and the girls where about to give him the flowers, he just fucking grabbed it haha hes like "give them fucking flowers to me!"

  • These matches are great. From the early to mid eighties WWF/E had a working relationship with NJPW and NWA/WCW had a relationship with AJPW. Then after the mid eighties and into the early nineties they switched around relationships. WCW kept their relationship with NJPW until the late nineties. It's too bad WWF could'nt have kept their relationship with NJPW a little longer. Imagine Shawn Michaels Vs. Muta, or Sasaki. Or Hart Vs. Muta, it would have been great.

  • After watching this, I've come to my final conclusion.....Inoki's chin is fake. That's an implant, damn it! That's not a "man's chin"....that's a god damn horse's jaw.

  • He should go againsat Bruce Campbell goddamnit.

  • And I can't believe WWF didn't let him use his wrestling skills from Japan.

  • I'm still amazed by the size of Inoki's gigantic head.

  • stf just like john cena ahhaha how funny ppl dont u kno they are both gay 5 move wrestlers

  • Japanese Pro Wrestling is more MMA style, American style is much different its more about speed or power here and personality.

  • WOW, all those hater who says Hogan doesn't have any tech skills needs to watch this match.

  • It would'nt change their minds. That's why they are haters. They have no logic or Knowledge of anything.

  • the stuff of mangas

  • its almost like Hogan was destined for greatness

  • what a bullshit....
