  • Seems to me the orders are mainly in french. Pointer, feu and all that stuff

  • Willie P!!

  • Is that in FOB Ramrod? The hills to the east look familiar.

  • Things like these makes me want to go to the army ... is that wrong?

  • @Genuigr Yes, advertisments is defferint than the reality bro you will experience defferintly there, all you want to think in army is where to eat and where to sleep i havent been there but i know trust me...

  • @Genuigr not at all :) why would you join the army if you dont like explosions?

  • wouldnt want to be on the other end of that artillery

  • nvm...

  • 1:30 for loading or 1:40 for firing. You're welcome.

  • round down range in less than a minute. guaranteed. This is just a detailed vid of different things that are done with the gun. People judge way too fas :)

  • How can they hope to hit the enemy? It takes so long to prepare and so long between shots that you'd think the enemy would have already moved from the position they are targetting.

  • @StudSupreme Obviously they are training.

  • @StudSupreme what the other guy said. and when they are actually on a fire mission they would already have their guns pointed in the direction of the troops they are covering (so there would be no need to move them around). it doesnt take more than a few seconds to get from setting the grid reference to firing the guns. with a 200m kill radius that doesnt give the enemy any time to move. and you have to think of what type of war they are engaged in atm

  • Fuck, the Russians would've blown the shit out of you by now, too slow.

  • @trevinboy russians? I think you have no idea what you are talking about.

  • The True North Strong And Free!

  • i wunder what the hell they were shooting at?

  • what are the caps they have to unscrew?

  • Those are the plugs that get replaced by the fuses of the shells. That's how the rounds come from supply.

  • I'm pretty sure these guys are going to have back pain in the future, the way they pick the the shell.

  • Bravo aux gars du Québec ! Vous faites un jon fantastique !

  • (Insert stupid stupid joke about Chuck Norris being able to dual wield these) Thumb me up!!

  • Cadians TRAINIG in Talaran planet

  • Ça l'air rough pareil comme job, très physique...

  • if it was the herd from Shilo MB they would have had that off 5 min ago ! no shit! Quebec should stick to their croissants and bagels anywayyysss !

  • @wisers001 Its not a drill, they're not in a hurry.

  • @unab84 lol

  • @unab84 looks like practice to me.

  • @wisers001 They have the same training as the others from the Canada.

  • @wisers001 eille le cave va chier.

  • i wonder if i could take an empty casing home like the howitzer shell for example

  • "Notice how the artillery officer (The guy with the beard) is a french canadian but he is giving his orders mainly in english. This is a good example of how all the communication in the Afghanistan mission is done in english."

    Well duh!

  • @sweiland75 infact its all in french to fire his sayin '' feu'' it looks the same but its not

  • @Thejoester12345 You are truly ignorant.

  • wait didnt the howitzer go out of service in america years ago???

  • @Namelessman102 and by america i mean canada too

  • @Namelessman102 A howitzer is a type of artillery, it has a shorter barrel than standard artillery. These aren't old guns, they're even newer than some of the US howitzers.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrScienceTypeGuy

Correction. The Howitzer isn't classified solely on the basis of its barrel length, but also for its ability to engage targets at both high and low angles. This ability to switch to high angles increases the effect on targets that are dug in with overhead protection or in wooded areas using HE Delay. More technical benefits include solving low angle ricochet problems that cannot be solved by simply reducing the projectile's charge. Highly effective on target and cost .-Gunner

  • @TheBlmamba are u high or just dumb, i have been paying canadian taxes for over 25 years !

bite your tung next time u think ur being smart !

  • what kind of cannon is that?

  • @Bassclarinator m777 aka triple 7 I think

  • 7 tor!

  • yay! french canadians :D

  • Pardon my ignorance, but shouldn't they be handling the shells with more care, for the sake of safety? Is there any real possibility of a shell exploding due to mishandling?

  • @shaygahweh It takes a lot of force for those to go boom. there is a small chance of them dropping it and the bomb going boom.

  • do you have to have good vision to be a artillery soilder?

  • @TheJesseMD yep, you also have to be good at math

  • @strader1234 crap! I suck at math my average is 76%

  • @TheJesseMD You have to be able to pass the CF's vision test. If you need a prescription to pass the test, you're allowed to wear it. So if you wear glasses or contacts, you will pass the test as long as you wear them. You can wear your glasses or contacts when serving in the CF. And the CF ballistic eyewear troops wear in combat have prescription inserts for those who wear glasses. It just takes forever to get the inserts!

    So you're fine.

  • Salut les gars!! La mort aux hostie de Taliban!

  • sorry, is this yesterday?... or wars ago?

  • Good clip!

go les boys on lache pas! Feu!!

  • Now that's a job!!

  • UBIQUE

    QUO FAS ET GLORIA DUCUNT

THE GUNS THANK GOD THE GUNS.

  • holy shit... thats a huge gun.

  • Good job les gars de valcartier ,

  • Respect from swedish artilley!

  • The guy with the beard would not be an officer--well, not a commisioned officer--he is the detachment commander, a sergeant, and known as the Number 1 of the gun.

  • This was encouraging to see, no idle chatter on the gun platform, just the necessary orders, "Chargez!" and reports, "Pointé!" "Prêt!" to carry out the fire mission. I think this is R Battery, X and Q Batteries having already done tours.

All the fire discipline is in French, and such has been the case in 5e RALC since the late 1970s.

  • 1:40 HOLY SHIT!

  • @sobekflakmonkey It's a howitzer. Did you expect a bunny to jump out of the end when the fired or something?

  • @Lessinath i just didnt expect all that dust to kick up, it looks so cool lol

  • @Lessinath I think that would be splendid :)

  • canadian artillery really is some of the best in the world. As u can see the run a tight unit!

  • It looks like an oversized .50 cal

  • French-canadian ? :D nice.. Its my future job (YN)

  • Very complicated. When the F*** do they fire?

  • Good work guys,. you make us canadians proud

  • Good team work.Pretty fast rate of fire.

  • amazing shooting and team work !!!!!

  • makes me happy :P

  • Always in a rush...Just like it is on an oil rig in Alberta! Get er done! I Love it!

  • The more parts a thing has the more possible ways it can break. I like the cannon though its very effecient. But the day we have hydraulic artillery...though in theory would be a real good idea...is the day we have forgotten this rule.

  • DarkFuryPunisher no they do not check the size of sheel .Thats is fusing of sheel .firing pistol with retarded sistem of ignition for "hard" (read armored) targets.I am in a crew of NORA 152.4 mm Howitzer- Gun Serbian Army.

  • i love artillery

  • I wonna join artillery but i hear you lose hearing after a few years..

  • @walkertexasranger33

Im in arty, and it's sick man, highly recommend it

  • @AngusMcMann applied for combat eng reserve force.

  • What is that device with a handle they put over the tip of the bomb for?

  • @DarkFuryPunisher making sure it's the correct shell size so it dosen't jam... i think.

  • i got few friends in the artillery those guys work hard and fire even harder, im armored there is only 2 good sounds i like the most when in combat a jet and a shell flying over my head haha and are Canadian boys do both the best.

  • i got few friends in the artillery those guys work hard and fire even harder, im armored there is only 2 good sounds i like the most when in combat a jet and a shell flying over my head haha and are Canadian boys do both the best.

  • Just for your info the guy with the beard is no officer but a sergeant and he give all the order in the vid. in french so I don't know what you are talking about.

  • How much does one of those shells weigh?

  • @wissam24 100 pound

  • Tabarnk que c'est fort un M777

  • i wonder if in their initial training in canada they were told they could lob the rounds into the chamber like that lol

  • @walkertexasranger33 they're unfuzed and look like they're smoke shells

  • @APiceOfPie i dont understand tbh

  • what kind of digitalcamera video show this video

  • Ubique, Quo Fas Et Gloria Ducunt.

  • What do they see when they look through the scope?

  • this is a good vid to see what else there doing besides just firing the gun . plus it is Canadains so it makes 5 stars no problem

  • This is a French Canadian artillery unit isn't it? why are they speaking english at all?

  • i like your clipp.Because it represents the canadien forces!!!

  • @PsychicAzn That's the M777 155mm

  • This is not vandoos and Sherbrook Hussars or Black Watch are reserve regiment, no matter with this feild artillery unit that I don't know the name but yeah, they kick ass and btw, every radio communication are made in english either if you are french.

  • What was the problem at 3:05? Wasn't the breech closed properly?

  • it looks to me that the (not to sure of the true terminology) electronic loader malfunctioned and didn't engage the round in the "chamber"

  • This is 5e RALC, not the 22nd VanDoos, that would be an Infantry Regiment. All Reg Force Arty is Horse Artillery, this is the Francophone Regiment - 5e Régiment d'artillerie légère du Canada.

Great video!!! The M777 just looks rock solid, even when digging in spades. The Det sure looks like they know what their doing, good job, impressive.

    Ubique.

  • i went and applied for artillary too .....looks like mostly everythings filled till april, except for navy trades which they are desperate for.

  • @vividnevets i know i applied april 2009 been waiting for ever!

  • im just finishing my application for artillery

  • Are Canadian units divided by language? Like will you have exclusively French-Canadian units?

  • Pretty much, more so geography...

  • @Henners1991 yes, the royal 22nd is the biggest regiment in the Canadian army as well as being exclusively French speaking, some other regiment's are bilingual, i.e. Sherbrooke Hussars, Black Watch, because they are in areas of Quebec where both English and French are present... In the rest of Canada though, most of the regiment's are English speaking, save maybe for NB... All officers though have to be "functional" in either offical language...

  • @pow3334 Negative, the 22nd is not the biggest regiment. All the infantry regiments are composed of three battalions and are of equivalent size and capabilities.

  • The Vandoos are the biggest. They have 3 reg force battalions and 2 Pres battalions. PPCLI has 3 reg force and 1 Pres (the loyal edmonton regiment). RCR has the same.

  • there are anglophones at 5 RALC

  • Yeah these would be the Van Dooks which is the regiment based in french canada (Quebec) all though there french they kick ass,

  • Pfff, being French isn't an impediment to kicking arse...

  • @calebsaccount its VanDoos since u cant say Vingt-Deux (22)

  • thank god for the guns ...they are so cool when it lands ....

    3RCR

  • And all those people die! Awesome!

  • You guess? So your putting down my military guessing? If you're sure then I will take objective criticism because Im gonna be Infantry but unless you're sure, please dont say it. Fair enough?

  • haha, gotta love the "experts" commenting left right and center eh?

  • @igormon i know they dont know what theyre talking aboot :p

  • @wikiwangster5000 lol what are you implying eh? haha

  • @igormon Circus YouTube <3

  • @NaturalBornKilla327 if a country's military has the best artillery trainning in the world, its the canada and it is so since the 2nd freaking world war >_>

  • @willy1315 well said and true

  • @willy1315 very very true!

  • @willy1315 I agreed
