  • GOOD GOD! Do you guys hear how groovy that shit is!? HOLY HELL. Listen to those ghost notes between the chords of the loop, oh my gosh such a sick vibe to this tune.

  • Man where is the 1?? And what is the time timing?? This is great!!! I love it

  • Thanks man! Count seven slowly ( it's in 7/4 )

  • very good man, very good, , im interested though....how did you got into paying a six string bass?

  • again, fantastic playing man. I can't get a handle on your approach. It's probably b/c you're light years ahead of me. My fav lick was the one just before 1min...are you using 3 fingers?

I've worked a little bit on your thumb index middle technique, but i haven't been able to get it useful just yet.

if you ever come over to the east coast to do a show, put out a bulletin everywhere!!! As long as the tickets aren't more than $50, i'll be there!! >:-D

  • Love it...middle eastern funky:) I am looking to buy a loop effect device... any suggestions.

  • The Boss Loop Station is pretty much the one to get unless you want to drop serious dough on a rack setup

  • Greetings Mr. Erskine,

This is fantastic as usual, Thanks for improving an old dog.

    Peace and good health,

  • Fantastic soloing as always. Teach me bro!

  • ure the best teacher any bass player could have.

  • Long-time no see... and you return with a Monster piece!!! Very Cool Stuff!!!

  • I seriously wish you could be my teacher :(

  • Dude... me too!

  • you get free lessons for life dude!

    ;)

  • Ahhh I see! Just exploit the natural curvature, length of fingers and shape of your own hands? Just kinda lay on the bass and go from there, minimizing movement in order to increase efficiency.

    Good vid! I learned alot!

  • NICE dude! Couldn't have said it better myself! (in fact, I may steal that explanation for the left hand ;) I think that does tie into one's own "voice"... The way we each tend to play a little differently would probably be partially based on the actual shape of our hands and our natural tendancies to move one way vs another... neat idea for consideration.... (added to individual experience and training, etc...)

  • Thanks! Feel free because I stole much more from you my friend! And, I would absolutely agree and further pose that these differences are necessary for they allow us to be individuals and subsequently produce different 'voices' and 'styles' of music to match these varying experiences? I don't want everything to be the same, especially musically, but also politically....Yes, yes, yes! I would say it was the struggle for identity the catalyzed me into bass. Thanks!

  • Technical question if you don't mind? I can definitely tell that the front pick up is a bit curved. How does that effect the attacks? I ask because even though my Ibanez is equipped with soap bar dual pick ups that provide lots of surface area to work with, I've been thinking about modding my bass with a curved piece to to put right between the pick ups. I would just like some input from other basses, on first, having a curve in there, and second, just modding the bass itself.

    Regards

  • All of my Zons have curved (radiused) pickups... It keeps my attack even and gives me consistent playing surface everywhere on the bass. If nothing else, a radiused ramp in between the pickups would work well. I made my first ramp with some help from a friend with a wood shop and used double sided tape to attach it to the bass. Hope that helps!

  • Heck yeah that helps! Thanks!
