Exactly! Hogan had good mic skills, but wasn't really all that great in the ring. Randy Savage on the other hand was the total package, Amazing on the Mic & In the ring. Hogan used backstage politics to hold Randy Back. I can think of at least two of Randy's Reigns where he was defeated by Hogan on the first day. Just watch both men's Wrestlmania III matchs & see which man REALLY deserved the fame.

hogan was good for the era of wrestling he was a part of. the cheesy line and high energy worked and thats what made him hulkamania. what was great about randy savage was that he was a great wrestler and he was crazy which allowed him to have very entertaining promos. the only reason besides backstage politics that randy did not get ahead was because he was and average guy in the ring with big fish. back then if you weren't big, you weren't champion

actually macho man's feud with hulk goes all the way back to early wwf. macho man never liked hulk because hulk always refused to lose the title cleanly. macho man did what was best for business. later in the wcw, macho man's hatred grew when hulk refused to help macho's career. the final straw took place in tna, when savage was hired on the roster. hulk came to up the publicity of tna once again leaving savage in the shadows.
