You know what's so funny, Robin and Victoria were able to joke with each other silently about The Steve & Alice Love Triangle. Oh here's another fun fact. Both Billy Dee Willams and James Earl Jones each played Dr. Jim Frazier on Guiding Light in the 1960's, and in the 1970's they played Members of a Negro Baseball League along with Richard Pryor called "The Bingo Long Travelling All Stars And Motorcycle Kings".
we will all miss Jacqueline Courtney so much.. i did't get to meet her, but i got to see her things and her photos, then i was at her moms home, to box up, Jacqueline Courtney. things and put in the truck to drive back to michigan ..she pass a way in my sis sue arms 12-20-10 from cancer.. i made a little video of me at her moms home.
@FORMATERMAN How sad for you and your sis.... Hard to believe she's gone, harder to believe this '50 Years of Soaps' appearance was Jacqueline's last on TV. Cheers, Ms. Courtney!! You are still loved and missed.....
What a great scene. I love how George Reinholt tenderly kisses her. And when they tell each other "I love you" it seems so real. And the look of pain on her face after he leaves...stunning. These two were so good together. I'm not a big soap fan, but this scene really touched me.
I am heart sick to learn of the passing of Jackie Courtney. She was lovely on OLTL with again the sensational George Reinholt. At on time during her run on OLTL, she was on everyday.
i was just starting grade school at the time, but was well aware of steve & alice on 'aw'...my mom and older sister watched it every day. i can remember i had an uncle [uncle norman] who would get so angry and riled up at rachel causing trouble for steve &alice that my aunt did'nt want him watching...ha! courtney was truly a soap LEGEND....not many actresses can claim as legedary status.
I am shocked and deeply saddened by Jacquie's death. Jacquie was -- and always will be -- my favorite soap actress of all time!
For those of us that actually remember her work, this loss is HUGE! This is a woman who acted with her eyes... every emotion and nuance was superbly conveyed in her expressive, hyaline glances and gazes. Her voice was rich, her laugh infectious, her mere presence mesmerizing. I will miss her terribly.
Thank you for your many years of entertainment, Ms. Jacquie!
@LOLOLUTHER You seem to feel about her the same as me! I was only 10 at the time but I remember the first time I saw her act It was the day she came home from France and Steve met her at the airport I had to watch it from then on I remember him saying her eyes said it all! guess that was what I noticed the most . I knew I was watching the greatest actress of all time I miss her too and wish I could have met her in person
I'm so saddened at the death of Jacqueline Courtney (Alice Mathews Frame). I got hooked on "AW" in high school, and stayed with it through college. This was the Cadillac of soaps!
@Bootlegteen47 I remember a scene where Rachel (Robin Strasser) telling Ada that Russ hit her, and then Rachel saying he spanked her, but wasn't it in fun-? Rachel was building her reasons for eventually leaving him and wanted Ada to believe he wasn't the good Dr everyone thought - But he was!
She was pregnant with Steve Frames baby (jamie) and spiiled the beans when she was soooo jealous of Alice, that at her engagement party to Steve, she told her she was carrying his baby. Classic Scene
Hey, there's room for two great Rachels!!!! Victoria Wyndham was always gracious to and about Strasser! Some of us grew up on Iris, Rachel and Mac....the other 'glory years'
Yes, that's right but unfortunately they didn't click with the audience and George Reinholt got fired and really fell on hard Times. Also montorvan, History was made because how many times do you see two actors who played the same part at different times be in the same room.
When I first saw this special back in 1994, I was SO glad to see so many AW and AW-related actors and clips on the show. AW was so unappreciated over the years--it deserved (and deserves) so much more than it got, especially from the network and the academy at the Daytime Emmys.
They had great chemistry. And when you threw in Robin Strasser with them, unbeatable. Who will ever forget Alice's engagement party scene when Rachel told Alice, Steve was her unborn' baby's father and not Russ. A classic.
It was tough to watch Another World from the mid-1980's and on. It went from being the standard of daytime drama - in the 1960's, 1970's and early 1980's - to a mess of a show. There was no understanding of the show's history from those involved in it.
And the recasts of Alice and Steve Frame were not good.
Again, it was hard to watch for longtime fans of the show.
My mother watched Another World in those days, it had a sister soap called SOMERSET. Jacqueline Courtney was an original cast member when AW began in 1964
Yeah, Robin Strasser was the original Rachel (who many fans never forgot, sometimes to Vicky Wyndham's chagrin). RS's Dorian is pretty much her Rachel all growed up.
OMG! Steve and Alice! How well I remember them. George Reinholt and Jacqueline Courtney were huge soap stars. Oddly, their executive producer and headwriter conspired against them and they were both fired in 1975. ANOTHER WORLD was never the same after these two stars departed.
Ah, priceless memories!!

It would have been nicer if they had let George and Jacqueline talk a bit on camera.

Didn't Steve and Alice later play Pat and Tony on OLTL? I know she was Pat Kendall.
