Where do you get the fishery stones? What type of plastic aeration tank was shown and where do you get one? Is the piping from the water pump copper or PVC? Details! :)

Another approach is an Air-De-Air system. It injects microbubbles and vents the gas out.

We have installed many such systems here in NW Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio & Western New York.

I,need a set-up like your's ,but i could never afford a large energy bill and could'nt follow up what you explain to me.but look at all that needed it probably cost $5,000.

@coldpak82 - the air pumps are low wattage, high volume and low pressure pumping into sized aeration stones. Think of it like a giant aquarium. Smaller or larger tank/parts could be used is the level of hydrogen sulfide was lower. And you are right, it wasn't cheap. But then, neither is replumbing a 2-story house and replacing a ton of valves. My neighbor has an aerator that is about garbage can size. It was about $1000 but doesn't work as well for as much water.

I am so glad I can pull the water in from the river in front of my house and drink it after very little in line treatment.

No storage means less chance of freezing in Winter.

One question, that concrete block could be leaching lime couldn't it?

Thank you... Just had that horrible feeling I had misspelled something... but maybe it was at the office.

This video will probably have a narrow interest but to anyone who has had to deal with the frustrations of sulfur water - it can seem insurmountable. In this area, it can be so bad that even animals won't drink it until it has had a chance to off-gas overnight in a trough.

The gas inside a house can rot electrical wiring. But many will swear by it as almost a health tonic.

Some of our early antibiotics were sulpha drugs. Now how much is fact and how much is fiction I just don't know. But sulfur water makes some nasty iced tea!

To give you an idea on how bad 150+ ppm is, when I first popped the well I took a shot-sized sample after pumping several thousand gallons. I placed a copper penny in it, covered it with plastic cling type wrap (to hold the gas in).

In 30 minutes it was jet black except for the spaces where Lincoln's head touched the glass. There was a reactant film literally floating on the water.

It is a problem but it can be tackled.
