C’est sûrement la première chanson française qui parle de l’amour gay. Pour cela, il suffit d’écouter attentivement les paroles. D’ailleurs Jean-Claude Pascal était gay. Pour cacher le fait qu’il était gay, les magazines de l’époque disaient de lui qu’il avait beaucoup de « fiancées ». Triste époque où les gays devaient se cacher sous peine d’être tabassés ou tués par les homophobes ou bien emprisonnés par la police des mœurs.

Esta canción habla del amor de dos gays (homosexuales), perseguidos por la sociedad homofóbica francesa de esa época. Las letras son muy conmovedoras. Dice: "A nosotros los enamorados, la gente quisiera separarnos, quisiera impedirnos ser felices. A nosotros el infierno, la espada y el fuego nos esperan. Es verdad, los malvados nos maltratan y nos hacen malas jugadas. Ellos son mil y nosotros somos sólo dos (contra ellos)." También dice que "Dios nos ama a nosotros los enamorados (gays)".
