This is OEM software. Not end user. I have found 2main problems with most end user installs. 1- the actual time on each client and the server being out of sync. 2 logitech software in a perpetual overwrite state in temp files. Oh yea and a third is that they have no clue as to what they are doing in a server environment. As an OEM i have set mant networks up with this and its predecessor with no problems, with existing client software that meets atleast the minimum spec.
I connected all my 5 pcs, running xp and 7 to it including a printer and all works good. I can store backups and files on it fix ur shit its not windows fault lol
Ah! one of the 30 gazillion people who can not get the WHS and a client to connect - That includes MS tech support. I will supposed if you do this install on two virgin machines the thing will fly, but if you have any version of .NET previous to 4 .X you ARE SOL.
The lovely part of this is that MS will inmediate suggest to use Remote Desk to the server cause THAT works.! . If you connected to the MAC youre a genious! Post that I have a couple friends going through Zoloft.
Seems strange - I have both Ver 1 and 2011 servers in my network as I'm migrating to 2011 - I stopped the backups on V1 and 2011 took over pretty much the same evening I finished installing it.
I to had my doubts about 2011 when it came out and thought I'd stick with V1, but its far superior and I will be fully migrating to 2011, and its almost being given away in the UK at the moment. don't really know what to suggest to fix your issue... maybe some other software is causing issues?
@Geeba70 Thanks for the comment, after doing a fresh install of windows I was able to get the software working however I am not able to back up any of my computers to the server as of yet. I am still working on that problem and open to suggestions.
My guess is 'operator error' is the fault here. I installed WHS 2011 yesterday and everything works fine. Did a test backup of 20GB data and it transferred @ 900Mbps.
Currently resynching a 3 x 1TB Raid-5 array which takes forever on any system.
Try re-install and if still no luck, take the DVD back to the store.

Or if you know Linux, use FreeNas.
