  • I live close to Asbestos Quebec (Montreal) and I also lived in L.A California and to be honest L.A is much more dangerous with crime and smog ect than Asbestos will ever be, its just a name.

  • really? ... i come from Asbestos and I am not toxic, seriously they know nothing about our town, i come from a wonderfull place, I wouldn't want to have grown in another town then Asbestos. They are only a bunch of ignorant that have nothing more intelligente to say then bullshite!

  • They kinda miss the point. I'd think the 1st thing you'd want to do address everyone's OBVIOUS concern, is there any asbestos there. That they DON'T do this only serves to confirm the main reaon no one goes there.

  • So who won?

  • Why has this turned into a mass polictical, history discussion

  • Its funny, since Canada is currently working very hard to sell actual asbestos!

  • Can't be any unfortunate as Berlin, Ontario. It got so bad during WW1 that they renamed it Kitchener due to public harassment and hate crimes toward the inhabitants.

And this was after the mostly German descended people (why the town was called Berlin) raised over $100,000 (upwards to millions today) for the war effort.

  • Je demeure à Asbestos, il faut vraiment ne rien savoir sur notre développement industriel pour créer ce genre de vidéo. Savez-vous que vous pouvez y trouver des minéraux semi-précieux ? L'Ignorance .... à quel prix ?

  • The Best part that no one talks about is that the town is the 2nd largest producer or abestos! Which kills over 100,000 people every year. Oh and 96% of all it's exports goto 3rd world countries. I would bet that their profits are highly invested in the abestos removal industry.

  • 2:29 Poo - asturias natural heaven.. xDDDD

I'm from spain and I've been in the region of asturias, but I newer been tho this town! Now, I wanna...

  • @POB the One in Canada If yes do you Go to School?

  • Im form Asbestos,And i love That Town And nobody were gaz Mask when i Go see them

  • they forgot the best one, Climax (Minnesota, US)* just down the road from Fertile, MN

  • They left out the best of the best: there is a town in Austria named Fucking just 4 km from the German border.

  • They left out the best of the best: there is a town in Austria named Fucking just 4 km from the German border.

  • I'm from Asbestos ... pretty cool uh?

  • @POBarker1 Am too,this city rocks!

  • I'm from Asbestos..

  • @POBarker1 Has everyone developed a cough in your town?

  • (continued) and do something about it. Go spread that great amount of knowledge in that head of yours. And if people decide to disagree with you, respect their opinion.

Seriously, it's just disgusting to have to read the type of comments you write. If you're not happy with the way things are, go change things, don't complain.

  • (continued) you could say, share that vast amount of knowledge of yours through Youtube (say with vlogs), or through blogs. And if you're not particularly happy with us dumb fucks voting for Abott (and no, he's not our PM right now), I'm pretty sure you could go out into the community and convince the people around you that doing so isn't the most prudent thing. In any case, my point is, if you're not happy about the state of the country or the views of people etc., get your ass off your chair

  • WOOOOOOOOO I SMELL A TROLL IN HERE.

In any case @ParArdua, your comments, which border on whinging, aren't all that constructive. While it's great you're culturally sensitive, slamming your fellow country men (from what I gather, you're Australian) for their ignorance isn't going to enlighten them. Rather, right now, you come across as a person with an excessively large ego. If you have half the mind to enlighten us, you wouldn't be here just apologising for us and insulting us. You could,

  • oil sands are one thing, but with asbestos we are exporting our extreme health hazards along with the product.

  • Shame the town of Asbestos, Quebec cannot use these ads. I am curious to go there next time I travel to Canada. Really want to get the T-Shirt and paraphernalia, and drive Aussies mad when I get home. Support Asbestos, travel there and spend some money. Canada is an awesome place, they cared for so many of our draft resistors during the Vietnam War.

  • @tippngthevelvet

Nothing is easier than getting a young Aussie upset. They are binary and extreme in their views of the world, part of the great failure of the broadcasting controls to ameliorate the hate campaigns of Alan Jones and Rupert BadBear. It's not looking good for the future.

  • Asbestos, c'est la ville ou j'ai grandi!

  • Asbestos is a beautiful part of the province, but it's been a quasi-ghost town ever since it was discovered Asbestos is hazardous.

  • @DeLorean4

Asbestos has nothing beautiful, wake up.

  • @DeLorean4

We have a town in Western Australia which sounds very similar, it is called Wittenoom. Some folk refuse to leave, but we are facing a crisis in disease and death from asbestosis and mesothelioma. First the miners and their families, and now home renovators. My best wishes to Asbestos and to Quebec.

  • @ParArdua Thanks!

  • how to sell the unsellable .. I think the second add is tops

  • C'EST PAS AU CANADA MAIS AU QUÉBEC

THAT NOT IN CANADA BUT IN QUÉBEC

CE N'EST PAS LA MÊME CHOSE

    THAT NOT THE SAME THINGS

    MADE IN QUÉBEC

  • @ornitorinquepurple what are u taliking about???!!!! are u next going to tell us that we dont live on planet earth???

SVP keep that for ur friends at home

  • @ornitorinquepurple

Et l'un contient l'autre qui contient le dernier.

  • @ornitorinquepurple

Quebec is still in Canada dickhead

Le Quebec fait encore partie du Canada cretin

  • @anneandjack

le Québec n'a rien de Canadien, stupid redneck

  • @ALL QUEBECOIS

I am sorry for the ignorant comments by my compatriots.

The Quebec/Canada/France issue is not one which is for Australians to make comment upon. I wish all Quebecois my best wishes in achieving your goals in respect of governance and culture.

Our own Anglo-Celtic-Australian culture has been subsumed by the almighty Amerikan one. We are becoming more insular, superior and binary in our consideration of other peoples. I also apologise for not replyng in quebecois.

  • @ornitorinquepurple

  • @ornitorinquepurple

I am sorry for the offence that this has caused. Many Australians are aware of soverignty issues in regards to Quebec. They can understand the Vatican and Italy, but not Quebec and Canada (or France).

We do not have the right to speak upon issues in foreign places about which we are not fully informed of all the socio-political nuances, and which do not impact upon us. So I will not comment further, but to offer my best wishes to you all. Bien a vous.

  • @ParArdua French separatism in Canada all but died out last election which is great. There is nothing wrong with keeping the French history of Canada (which is not limited to Quebec). But there are many people, a vast majority, who want to be part of Canada. They have their language rights, they even have a different legal system than the rest of Canada at the provincial level, and they are a great and important part of Canada. I'm from Ontario and I love Quebec.

  • @somethingtodowithme The separatist movement, I think is more towards moving apart from the British rule like the Americans did back in the day.

  • @verbalswordsman The number of separatists in Quebec is low now, and the First Nations people of North Quebec (who were here before the people of Quebec came from France) have claimed that forcing their peoples to join an independent Quebec would violate international law. Over 90% of Cree natives and Inuit who voted against separation. Hard core separatists have no problem demanding that they be granted the right to be their own nation, but don't want to offer that same right to First Nations.

  • It's funny but unrealist. I'm the President of the chamber of commerce and I can affirm that first we don't have a tourist problem and second, we are healthy people. We are have one of the most proportion of people over 65 year old in our province. So you can laugh about our name, but if you come here, you will see that ignorance is not someting credible.

  • @ballermart I was surprise to see thant Asbestos have no problem with tourism. I have to go there sometime and come on, it's very bad to see all this montain build by mine truck an other montains destroyed by the same trucks.

Asbestos is only a row of non natural montain and there's no tree or grass on this montains so everybody may prefer the moon to take some pictures.

  • I'm from Asbestos. Asbestos is an aboriginal name and has a profound meaning...

  • @isocrate27

It is wrong to denigrate the cultural traditions of first nations people by attributing something which is incorrect, just to suit your own infantile political views. And yes, Australians do denigrate the cultural traditions of our aboriginal peoples every day and in every possible way, and THAT is a continuing source of SHAME for many of us.

  • prefer the first one

  • YAH !! well done Cooch !

  • awsome ...alot of imagination went into these ads ,,,good for a chuckle

  • I actually leave not so far from Asbestos, Quebec and really, when you think about it, it is quite funny!

  • I'd like to see Australian sacred cows being the subject of these ad challenges.

We say we have a sense of humour, but it seems only when others are the victims of our delight.

Let's stick it to ourselves, and stop behaving like amerikans.

  • @ParArdua You obviously have never watched any of the other Pitch segments, there is one where they had to create an advertisement to discourage people coming to Australia for holidays. Don't going saying shit when you don't even know what your talking about.

  • @s1y2l3v4i5a6

I have watched GT since S1E1 and it is my view that Australians are very comfortable in lampooning other cultures, but we are less likely to criticise our own. I am watching G Nation atm, and am struck by the lack of vitriole which is used but where it should be - at politicians! - but it was in bucketloads in the 'Why we should invade NZ' for example.

This is the reason why dumb-f*ck Aussies like yourself are about to elect an ex-boxer to be our next Prime Minister.

  • @ParArdua The whole point of the Gruen Transfer is to observe how advertising works. The idea of the Pitch is to sell the UNSELLABLE, you need to get a sense of humour and stop being such a twat. I always heard that one of the best things about Australia is our ability to laugh at ourselves as well as having a laugh at other countries. What does electing an ex-boxer have anything to do with making fun of other countries anyway? And we aren't even making fun of Canada! Get a life.

  • @ParArdua

You wouldn't happen to be Canadian by any chance???

You're opinionated, anal, and you need to get a life...oh, and by the way, that's not how you spell Americans..

    Have a nice day

  • @ethereal692003

Nah, opinionated and anal Australian. You'' really have to watch your xenophobia, because it makes you look kinda silly.

The spelling 'Amerika' as many people who read do know, refers to political discourse from the 1970s when indeed the US was acting as a facist state. Catch up fella, you are way behind, and way off track.

  • @ParArdua

So it would seem by your reply that you're implying that i'm racist, or have a fear of Canadians or foreigners in general..that i'm stupid, slow, illiterate and a man..

Interesting..very, very interesting..thank you for that..

  • i agree the frist one was genious, the second quite obvious.

the frist looked way more professional too.

  • First one was definatly more original

  • @millie33433

maybe but the real Asbestos doesnt look anything like what you see at the end. Its a dump. Just google it.

  • @verbod Asbestos doesn't look like a dump, it looks like a mining town. And I didn't use google to say that, but my own eyes

  • @MaudLMN

c'est la ville la plus moche du Québec et les images à la fin de la pub ne représente en rien ce trou à rat.

  • @verbod

"Truth in advertising" is a myth.
