How is the enemy the same? Sure it's man in both, but that is very common in a lot of things about animals. Besides people are completely differently in the two. And sure lions can't survive without meat, but they can't talk either or create schools, restaurants or post offices all of which Kimba does.
Disney takes all the credit and money for the success, who are they to 'assume' that Osamu would be flattered? Was his name mentioned, honored? Nope. Now Disney even reproduce this story and I highly doubt Osamu would be part of the credit.

Okay, I was reading this Article about how "lion king" was stolen from "Kimba the white lion" and they even got sued! kimba made in 1965 but relised 1966 then a upgraded one in 1989 called jungel empor then lionking 1994 which copyed a few diffrent things really but there all good and of course it look better beacuse of the dates there made
Disney movies are great but it's sad to find out that most of the brilliant stories that contributed to the company`s success were not their own ideas. They just took all time popular children stories and animated them, nothign else and they want to take all the credit :( In that respect, I think Pixar is way better, at least, as far as I know, they've created the concepts for all their movies and movies like Wall-E are superb, they do deserve applauses!

You can tell that Disney ripped off kimba, really just think about it.
For Example;
The characters are almost identical. Theres the prince lion with Daddy issues, The lion girlfriend, wise baboon and annoying parrot, and the villian is their uncle or aunt

I saw both movies, and I still don't know how TLK ripped off JEL. They are totally different. The lion king is more realistic about a cub who believed he killed his father then finds out the truth and goes back to be king. JEL is about humans coming to the forest and searching for a stone and the cub going to the circus.
i agree. it was a blatant rip off. it was wrong. however. there are good evils in the world. tlk is one of my favorite movies. one of the absolute best movies created ever, regardless of what it was based on or ripped off of. and for that, i'm glad the rules weren't followed, because 1.) There would be no Lion King, which meant a whole lot to a whole lot of people. and 2.) People would not be seeing this rejuvenation in Kimba. Both movies are beautiful.
1) Disney of course took a.. lot from the original JT; they just never admitted it, and that's a mistake.

dang, I still want to see the rest of the kimba episodes before the movie, and the movie before I see this in case of spoiler, dang.
The characters even though sort of the same animals have very different personalities.
In fact different personalities, different mood, different lesson, different story.
That makes it different! Sure, it was probably inspired by The white lion, but not enough for them to need to give credit.

disney obviously took some scenes off of kimba the white lion and remade it into their own. i don't wan to post a link, coz i don't want to be flagged as spam, but you can google for yourself kimba vs simba and you might find some comparison of video stills from both shows.

I actually think the lion king/kimba controversy was actually a blessing in disguise. If I had not heard about it I would have never known what a cool show Kimba was. It also helped me get over my dislike of anime. And It all happened because of the Lion King.

I saw both movies, and I still don't know how TLK ripped off JEL. They are totally different. The lion king is more realistic about a cub who believed he killed his father then finds out the truth and goes back to be king. JEL is about humans coming to the forest and searching for a stone and the cub going to the circus.

i agree. it was a blatant rip off. it was wrong. however. there are good evils in the world. tlk is one of my favorite movies. one of the absolute best movies created ever, regardless of what it was based on or ripped off of. and for that, i'm glad the rules weren't followed, because 1.) There would be no Lion King, which meant a whole lot to a whole lot of people. and 2.) People would not be seeing this rejuvenation in Kimba. Both movies are beautiful.

1) Disney of course took a.. lot from the original JT; they just never admitted it, and that's a mistake.
2) As Tezuka's son always says, Master Osamu would be honored to know he inspired Disney, because Disney was his inspiration from the very beginning: where do you think Atom's round eyes come from?
