Wow, I didn't know that women played with different golf balls, I wonder if it's the same for other sports such as rugby and football.
Take it from someone who has only done one half marathon so far, anyone who can run 26 miles non-stop, regardless of their gender, deserves a lot of respect. :P
Men's Right's Activists make me itch. To be honest, those very few feminists who feel that all men persecute all women all the time don't make me terribly comfortable either.
I believe that you're right - the overall cultural playing field is unfairly tilted in favor of men, but that individual situations are very complex, and treating people like human beings is about the best start you can make.
@stealthbadger I agree with you completely. Both extremes tend to get up my nose for the same reasons.
Yes, it is an ankh, well spotted! Quite a few people have asked why I'm wearing a cross so perhaps I'll clarify it in the annotations! I love anything to do with ancient Egypt and that's a sterling silver ankh engraved with heiroglyphs.
I have a problem with one point you made, lumping women& children together in times of disaster may be nessasary, we can't have lifeboats full of children alone, no one would survive.Mothers & children or everyone who is not a able bodied adalt might make more sence.
@clawdfrawg Agreed. I wasn't suggesting that "women and children first" shouldn't be applied in disaster situations, that was in fact the suggestion of the video I was responding to. I think it's a difficult one because what if there was a single dad with a child in a disaster situation? Would he have to stay behind and let the child go? If you said "parents and children first" that's not really creating a priority is it? A child could have both its parents with it. It's a grey area.
Fail! Grasping at straws... & If you're an Atheist, why the hell do you wear an Ankh?

@SuperShoebag "If you're an Atheist, why the hell do you wear an Ankh?" Because I like ancient Egyptian things... geez, it's only a heiroglyph!
And how exactly was I grasping at straws? Please provide some constrictive criticism and I'd be happy to respond.

@echoesoftruth Thanks! I see little point in hating anyone because of who they cannot help themselves to be. :)
