Nice flying bert. I got my mcpx two weeks ago. I'm loving it! Prior to this I learnt on my first heli 120sr for 10 days. That's was a fantastic heli to prepare me for my mcpx! Anyone want my 120sr now, cuz it's on eBay now :) you guy can watch my 120sr on YouTube too.
Bert .I really enjoy watching you in action. Hell of a job you have. Keep ua up to date . Wish you were in Columbia South Carolina. Need some advice on what I'm doing wrong. If you know of any pilots in my area please let me know. need some help on some repairs. Thanks Bert
WOW!!!! you have incredible skills. Love it if you can give me a bit of advise on how you set up your Dx8. I am a newbie flyer and would realy love your advise on proper set up from newbee to advanced.
Is it stock? Did you do the boom mod with the Trex 250 boom brace? Nice as always you make it look easy. I can't fly this like my 700s, 600s, 500s, 450s or 250. Tail blows out in hurricanes. Maybe it's my settings..although I haven't tried again after doing the mod.
People gripe about having to buy extra parts all the time, stop crashing into the wall every other flight and you wouldn't have to replace parts all the time, this heli was meant for flying not crashing.
im a beginner in the game and i just got my blade mcx2 and loving it. I will upgrade soon as i put in those hours and make a few vids with my rap beats playing . Peace
@2racekids i dont think, it´s the best choice. the mcx is not comparable to this one. better you take a msr before and if you can fly it really good, take a mcp x. and whats also a good thing: buy a phoenix sim and a dx6i radio, which you can use for all birds of the eflitte series. and then try to fly the helis in the simulator and ask again ;) you´ll be surprised, how difficult it is to hold the bigger ones in a stable flight. greetings from germany!
@2racekids I would say so. I had the MCX and then got this. If your good then it should be fine. I also fly 3D planes though. At first it seems very difficult, but once you get used to it, it's SOO much better than the MCX. I highly recommend it. :)
@TheDaveyht3 I think you misunderstand the problem with the head, yes I checked the spindle (feathering shaft), but its the bearings that give up and the center comes away from the outer of the bearing as this type of bearing is not designed to take lateral forces which is why most other helis seem to use thrust bearing in this situation.
@huskerzGBR Replacing the blade grips is the minimum they should do as without this action someone could lose an eye as I have seen how fast these blades leave the heli.
Horizon have actually said anyone who uses this heli without the new blade grips removes any liability from them, so they agree its dangerous.
Horizon should not have released this heli in an unsafe condition and taken weeks to even believe what their customers were telling them.
@stecornes I checked my spindel screws as soon as I took it out of the box. They were not LOC-tited but tight I applied PURPLE LOC-Tite and have never a problem. You all should remember that if you are going to do this hobby no matter how complete the kit is one must at the very least check that the spindel shaft bolts and main shaft "Jesus" bolt is LOC-tited this is a given for anything that can spin any size blade at over 900 RPM :)
@stecornes dude parts are not expensive compared to like my 250 the heli is the safest heli the blades can do damage but no more than a cut its not like a 700 it wont kill you and horizon is giving people with this problem new head assemblys there is an updated head on the new ones it should have a b on the main grips those are the updated ones they are sending to people with the bearing problem i havnt had mine blow apart yet and im doing hard 3d with it like piro flips and hurricanes no prob
@stecornes have to agree with synman Horizon is replacing the blade grips for free all you have to do is go online to their website and follow the instructions on the product bulletin on the mcp x page. Also I work at a local hobby shop and we got a shipment of the new grips in and are giving them away for free to all people who have bought one and every new one we sell.
@dannylightning me too, couldnt even get it to hover correctly, blade grips exploded and after a very light crash the swashplate broke, a lot of the feedback on this heli has not been good.
@Gunclappa5 i have had 2 blade grips fly off of this thing now. first time it was about 50 bucks to fix. did it again and even more stuff has broken this time. i tried to flip it inverted once, and it almost crashed, it has no power at all. as bad as it preformed and seeing how much it cost to crash after the fisrt grip flew off i said not doing that again. than the second grip flew off and caused alot of damage. not worth fixing and its dangerous with grips flying off
@dannylightning 50$ spare parts ,,same here ,,thought is now since flying a logo 600 is cheaper in maintenance ; ) every week not flown a mcpx gets you a t-rex700 kit real quick : )
@bassax7045 if i buy the next set of repair parts for this thing i could have bought a 250 instead. i found a place that sells the 250 super combo for 307.00 now i wish i would have got the 250. at least that would flip inverted well.
@bassax7045 and i have learned to never touch another e-flite product as long as i live. this is my 4TH one and all i can say i will never buy another one, i have had the blade 400, blade SR, MSR and now the MCPX, the only one that was actually good was the MSR, the rest of them were nothing put headaches
@dannylightning I also have those 4. And the MCP x is by FAR the most fun, followed by blade 400 if it isnt windy. blade sr, blade msr and 120 sr are all garbage.
But the mCPx flies WAY better than the mSR which is its closest relative. flybar pendulum effect FTL.
OK, Bert.. Got a question for you... How are you getting that crazy HS. I got my atv's cranked and no way am I seeing those HS''... PLEASE share your secret throttle setting... 4 of my buddies have the same question.....
Thanks man, And we need some more smack talk........ I love your series, have every single one....
@kargidesign how about the Trex 100 3gs :) will it be cheaper than a bnf mcpx cause I have a DX6i? when does it come out? they're just getting smaller and smaller, wonder what's next!
How does Bert feel about this heli? Does he like it? Does he think it is easier or harder to fly than say a TREX 250? Dod does it handle a light wind? Great flying and video!
This and TREX 250 are not the same class. This is for adv beg. - lots of plastic, low power, and low-cost. The T250 is just like Align bigger ships - CF, metal, your choice of electronics, lot's of power and high head speeds and as hard or easy to fly as you set it up to be. Wind handling is completely dependent on size/weight/power. T250 will be $400+ by the time you build it . This is ~$250 already built. You get what you pay for. That said, this is a hecka fun. Buy one!
@rotorhead210 Oh I plan on getting one. I learned how to do my first loop on a TREX 250 SE (1st Gen) and was just curious how it compared to that as far as flight characteristics. Thanks for the feedback I can't wait to get a little heli I am not afraid to crash.

This little Heli is UNSAFE most owners have/will lose a blade grip and if the are lucky will only damage the heli.
There is a serious design fault and Horizon Hobby UK are doing nothing to sort this out.
Parts are very expensive I would avoid at all costs, I would like to get a refund on mine.
