I agree wholeheartedly...Now, if youtube would stop having us terminate music because of copyrights...really, like you can actually download a song from youtube...I would think the record companies would be happy to see their artists stuff on youtube..the nostalgia makes you want to buy the song...
geez mooshenick...why such a hater?? Working at Burlington or shopping??? Not much of a difference!!! Mellow out...it's better than a squirrel vid...and besides you weren't even born in 1982.
I saw her interviewed. She's a pro! But she has an incredible voice...and I saw first hand...hard rockers with their girlfriends, dancing to this song....gotta love that (caught ya!) Hehee!
surely "with every beat of my heart" did better than #20, I think you might be mistaken on that one, I remember that song being HUGE and on the radio all the time even years after it was released
I can think of maybe 10 songs I've ever heard in my life that get better every time I hear them. Taylor Dayne sings two of them. This one and "I'll be your Shelter". Truly magnificent singer.
I LOVED this song back in the day, I loved Taylor Dane. What an amazing voice! I wished her comeback would have been more successful, today's music needs more talent like hers.
This song kicks ass. I hardly ever listen to music like this, but for some reason (probably Taylor Dayne's extreme hotness) I always imagine this song as the ending credits theme song for a "love gone bad" movie, complete with montage of the highlights of the film, starring myself as the super smoldering, sexy male whom all women find irresistable, and the doomed relationship he gets into with either Asia Argento, Zooey Deschanel, Piper Perabo, or possibly Ms. Dayne herself. God i'm strange.
This song didn't do too bad on the charts, as it came very close to cracking the Top 10, and went Top 10 on the Adult Contemporary charts, but I'd still consider it a hit. It's too good of a song for me to write it off, and I love her too.
According to billboard.com, it hit #12 on the Hot 100. She had only one other song to hit the top 40 after that, though ("With Every Beat of My Heart" hit #20). Too bad, I miss her!
Actually it was "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love" that peaked at #20. "With Every Beat Of My Heart" peaked at #5 a year before this single was released.

Taylor Dayne's voice is a marvel. Few voices can compare to its richness of tone, its range and ellasticity.
It is criminal that she hasn't achieved the same status as Céline Dion, Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey. She more than deserves to.
