  • can you operate the synth with a midi keyboard?

  • @wooki321 Yes, but it doesn't change the fact that the synth engine is monophonic.

  • Such a funky and offbeat tune - this video finally convinced me to get an EMX which I've had for about two weeks now and I love every minute with it.

  • fracturetrey , how did you manage to record those synth sequences , arpeggiator?

    tnx =)

  • @Elektriber I believe so, yep =]

  • go easy on you? man this is sick as fuck.

  • fuckin sick tune guys.

  • Finally I got my one last week. Didn't read the manual yet but I can already say:GREAT MACHINE.It works perfect with my midi setup and other sound devices.CHECK OUT THE TWO LATEST VIDEOS WITH MPC5000 ON MY ACCOUNT!!!

  • Catchy song btw one of the better EMX1 youtube video demonstrations soundwise.

  • I can't decide between a ESX-1, EMX-1, KP3, or Kossilator Pro. A lot of similarities between them all with some advantages and disadvantages for each, but I'm really digging the EMX-1 a lot and Koss Pro. Which do you think is best along side a DAW? the Koss Pro seems like it has a ton of potential and with a nice preamp feeding into the input chain might give it a even nice warmth.

  • I have a question! I'm really interested in making electronic music. Is the Electribe EMX-1 all I need or should I get this along with something like a microKorg XL keyboard or a Kaoss Pad KP3??!!! Help! D:

  • I'm thinking of buying one of these, i was just looking on ebay and one of the descriptions is "drum machine" is it just a drum machine? o.o

  • @ryo563388 The EMX-1 that I have is both a drum machine and synth. The ESX-1 is a sampler, which tends to be more effective as a drum machine but also can play back sampled instruments. Neither is strictly a drum machine to be honest.

  • Fun I used to have one until I sold it, I should have kept it.

  • Excellent use of muting and live manipulation. Put this on MP3 so I can buy it!

  • nice sound man (Y) gettin one of these mysen, cant wait!!

  • im liking that sound man (Y) thinkin of gettin one of these myself, crossed between this and the Akai MPC 2500, just gona do abit of reaserch into em and see which would suite me more

  • Really wicked. I want one yesterday !

  • that was fucking NICE gotta get one.

  • i checked this model out on ebay.. these things aint cheap.

  • here is your fan!!

  • HEY MAN. I LOVE THIS!! Im plannin on gettin the Korg Electribe but I dont have a clue bout dj smaplers and synths. what kinda sound system is the playback comin through??? plugged into a PA or summin or like..through a computer?? haha

  • WHOA.

You made this on the second day you got it? Christ man this is good

  • ^^ great

  • yeah!

  • How much $?? been lookin for one

  • Is it difficult learning to use this? And do I need some knowledge of music? haha

    Sounds so good! :D

  • awesome beat guys! :)

  • SUPER.

  • This is a sick beat better than most of the emx1 vids ive seen IMO. I wanna get one of these and mix in my guitar w/ phaser.

  • got mine today XD but i aint allowed it until xmas :(

    cant wait aaarrrgggghhhhh

  • lmao.that happened to me except i had trouble finding one for the new year

  • hope your enjoyin dat electribe now :P i have to wait till summer!! :( no money till i work :D

  • I love that square synth!

the emx is one of the most greatest madhines for producing music i think :)

  • Can you plug your synth into it and use the synth sounds, because I think the sound library might be limited.

What's the diff between this and the red one (ESX 1)?

  • ESX is a sampler

  • basically, Both are grooveboxes, but, the esx is also a sampler

  • ESX is more of a sampler, meaning you have to create your sounds more so than the EMX which has preprogramed drum sounds.

  • love this beat ;-)

  • i like this beat ;) nice!

  • That beat is dope! I have an mpc 1000 that Im still learning how to figure out. Any body knows how this compares to an akai mpc?

  • @BeatmanMyth mpc's are the shit

  • bass line is sick man (Y)

  • the square synth made me laugh, idk why. fun stuff. great vid man :)

  • just got one yesterday at the pawn shop.great video!!!

  • Gah, I need the money! I want one, but how to get de moneh!???

  • jobs man. im going jobhunting tommorow. want one of these too.

  • sell shit

  • ok cool! Thanks man, ill upload something once i figure it out :)

  • Отлично +5 :)

  • I just bought one, waiting for it to arrive. Was it easy to pick up?

  • Hey, congrats :D I felt like it was easy and fast to pick up, but both those are relative terms :) Good luck!

  • how do you get more presets????

  • Patterns: You make them :)

Synth parts: You make these as well :)

Drums: You can't, though some minor modifications like pitch and envelope are available for each included sound.

  • perfect

  • wow for day 2, this is MUCH better than what I came up with back 3 years ago. I gotta hear your newer stuff with this machine if you have any.

  • Excellent

  • how long did it take before you had a vague idea on it?

had you done much production before?

  • Not long at all. Plenty of demo patterns come with the unit that will allow you to learn part sequencing and part mute/solo well before you ever write your own patterns. Before I picked up the EMX-1 I had only spent a little time trying to make music using software, and had mostly failed due to a lack of a dedicated hardware interface. This thing is very intuitive and got me rolling. There are few enough controls on this device that trial and error can easily be productive.

  • ive been saving for a few months and im finally buying mine tomorrow!!!!!

  • Dude, that is fucking sick.

  • Dang sounds hella good, but was it hard to use, im looking seriously at buying a synth, and my buddy says to get the kaossilator, but if i have the money get the electribe, so how easy is it to use? i want something thats easy to use, but has tons of beats to it, ive looked around and this looks like the one to get for the cheapest...

  • You're on the right track; the EMX-1 is what you want. The Kaossilator is a cute/fun little box for what it is but its really no more than a glorified toy. The EMX is more a self-contained production box that actually contains enough sophistication to write a whole track - I have a Kaossilator too and don't believe it can honestly be used for much serious production, and what little it could do in that regard basically has to be recorded/sequenced yourself using software on your computer.

  • So, get the EMX-1. It's probably not all the hardware you will ever want/need, but its a fantastically solid start to a hardware lineup and will get you started with music production in a way that just won't be possible with the Kaossilator.

Have fun! Feel free to post any additional questions.

  • hahah better than my first day with it =] niftyyyy!

  • shit is hot, yo.

  • wow

    hat sound great

    i really like it
