  • okay people if you do not like this music then don't watch!! that is all

  • everyone stand to for the youtube anthem

  • i kind of don't mind it with music, i wonder what next year's tornado season will bring.

  • I have never seen a real tornado in reality. I have traveled to see the aftermath of a few when volunteering my help. I do remember that storm cell or one around that same time because we had a family reunion in 09 on June 1st. I have seen some freaky weather in west Austin heading towards the hill country, but never a T.

  • Why is the tornado a suspect?

  • scud.

  • Youtube must be getting some kind of kickbacks from that gay-ass 009 sound system band.... Either that, or those wankers work for youtube....

  • that's so kewl

  • I recognize where you are cypress creek road?

  • There was a tornado last night o.o

  • THIS SKY LOOKED SCARY HERE IN AUSTIN A TORNADO WARNING WAS IN EFFECT AND WE HAD A TORNADO THAT WENT RIGHT PASS OUR APARTMENT COMPLEX THE WAY THE SKY LOOKED IT LOOKED LIKE A TORNADO WAS GOING TO TOUCH DOWN BUT IT MISSED OUR HOUSE BY 2 MILES I COULD HEAR THINGS FLYING IN THE AIR AND CARS AND WE RAN BECAUSE DEBRIS WAS FLYING IN THE AIR THE WINDS WERE LIKE ABOUT 95MPH-100MPH

  • @FordMustangSVT2018 Did the flying debris break your capslock key?

  • Not far from where I live I think

  • I know it's a different location, but the supect cloud looks and behaves similarly, thought you might dig it :)

    watch?v=uMb1sqB6w24&feature=related

  • I didn't see any rotation, so I think it was just a wall cloud. But it was sure thinking about being a tornado.

I'm from Leander and I've seen plenty of twisters 'round there.

  • Omg, I see it. It's coming down the lane toward the trailer park. Oh no.

  • I'm at my friend's house.

  • My friend is seeing it again.

  • OMG OMG OMG!!!!! Its happening again! I'm looking for a camera to record!!!!!

  • I don't think THATS good. I saw a tornado in new york, soooooo wide and distructive. It happened during the blizzard of 2010. Almost half of my friend's house got distroyed. :(

  • i like the music

  • Not a tornado. I was on this and it was rain cooled outflow.

  • @oilrig22 read discription

  • Very nice capture friend!

  • haha damn... i live and work at 183 and McNeil area (just south of you), and was at work when this storm hit... the hail dented the living crap outta my car :( i never knew a twister was formed though, only thought it was a very bad Tstorm. great upload.

  • it was a good vid u showed how it formed n stuff but it looked more likley like a cloud to meh and the music wasnt nessecary

  • not sure if this was a tornado.. it was most likely a gustnado or scud good vid though!

  • why didn't you stay and watch more? it was hard to see you gotta get closer

  • nice music with a nice video :)

  • you should put the same video but w/out the music

  • Me for one, I like the music! But I film and edit my storm vids like that too lol. Great Wall cloud. Ya never know where they can come from back there. Great balls!

  • wow, that's like 5 minutes from my house. I live over by Parmer and Lakeline. Not quite a tornado, but you can definitely see the spiral rotation from that small cloud being pulled up, and the dropping rotation from the tunderhead. I would remember this storm better if every spring weren't like this =P. Great footage!!

  • maybe not even that far

  • I'm about 5 miles from where this was shot

  • WOW! Amazing. That low lying cloud might have got caught in the updraft (seeing as there is little rain)

  • Great storm but music just killed it.

  • Many Austin area Storm chasers where on this storm. You can go see my June 11th footage in which I started filming it around Brownwood at it's birth. Tony Cook (a very well known national storm chaser) was on the cell as you are filming this. Although it is a wonderful looking wall/scud cloud, Tony did not see any rotation and radar didn't indicate any. You have GREAT footage of a killer looking storm! But I am not so sure it was a tornado.

  • Many Austin area storm chasers where following this cell. You can go see my June 11th footage as I followed the cell from it's genesis. Tony Cook is a nationally know and very experienced storm chaser. He was very near the cell as it produced the wall cloud/scud cloud you have in your video. He was pretty convinced there was no rotation in it and radar also showed little or no rotation. Good job on capturing the storm. VERY nice video.

  • Gorgeous lightning-filled wall cloud and suspect tornado...amazing about that scuidcloud conjoining into the wall cloud~~!! Very nice footage...I bet, however, there was some nice thunder with the frequent lightning flashes. BTW... my own 8/8/08-Tstorm video...looked like a big tornado was dropping out of the sky....wanna see it if you have extra time?

  • the green clouds of death. ^-^

  • I was at work during this, in a huge open warehouse setting, i wasn't too thrilled when someone mentioned a tornado on the ground (i know it was proven later there was no tornado) and they still had us working, anyways scariest storm i've been in, seeing im from PA

  • I got fired from smokey moes for refusing to take the trash out on this day that the tornado hit. This happened on a thursday in june of last year the assistant manager wanted me to take the trash out in this storm i refused and got fired over it.i honestly feel iwas wrongfully terminated i mean look at this would you go out in this

  • wow-really crazy scud cloud appearing to be sucked up into the updraft. Looks like a tornado but it's not rotating.

    Love this-very cool video :)

  • @cocatwoman7 but is it possible that it turned into a tornado?

  • this is some scary shit!!!!!!! lol

  • @deangelo121 I was in that storm it was some very scary shit indeed

  • I too am not A big fan of music in tornado videos; yet he explained his reasons for it. Good integrity there. And very good film!

  • @TommyJoebowers1tycoo I agree. I love the sound of thunder and the howl of a tornado. The music reminds me of the show "How It's Made". Well, maybe the author of this video was thinking just that, only a tornado was made and not a bowling ball. Other than that, this looks like a tornado.

  • @TommyJoebowers1tycoo yet he used probably one of the most over played songs in any youtube video

  • Awesome video. It's a crazy wallcloud formation. The lower cloud definetly goes up in an updraft. I videoed something similar to this in Erick Oklahoma except it just didn't have the scud cloud at the bottom which rises up into the clouds above. But the wall cloud has a lot of likeness with that brown color the way this video has. It also has the look of a tornado, but it's not a tornado. This video reminds me of the crazy wall cloud I filmed in Erick Oklahoma.

  • it looks cool if u pause at 00:52 also was there a tornado plz reply

  • I've been a stormchaser for over 20yrs, and have seen a lot of tornadic storms live, and lots of vids too. What you have here is an incredible vid. It shows a scud cloud getting entrained into the strong updraft, and becoming a tornadic wall cloud. Gene Moore, one of the orig. chasers from the 70's/ Univ. or Okla has a website that illustrates this with a play-by-play lesson commentary. Google "Chase Day with Gene Moore" and prepare to learn and totally enjoy! BTW...I'm NOT Gene Moore. Thanks!

  • wish u did not put on music

  • @Sakura463 some cameras dont have mics built in so thats probley why music was added, if you dont like it its called the mute button

  • The Little Cloud that could.

  • THAT. Is. A. NASTY! Sky. Holy cow. Favorite-ing, 5/5 stars. EXCELLENT capture. Did it ever go tornadic? Looks like it to me - from that little cloud to WOW, RUNNNN! LOL

  • nice ground funnel footage

  • There might have been a hook echo associated with this but I can't pick out any vertical rotation visually. Maybe scud in the RFD? I'm not a meteorologist but that's my educated guess.

  • Why do people think the music makes the video cool or better? It rarely does...as this proves.

  • this storm totaled my car :(

  • To bad theres music that mutes the sirens and the thunder but thats certianly no reason for not enjoying this video though. Great job!

  • nice job ma'am you captured the greatest footage of all.

  • Cedar Park is in central Texas, NW of Austin. Weathermen here never confirmed that it was a tornado. The more likely classification is wall cloud or scud cloud, as alluded to in some other comments on this blog. At times, it exhibited the characteristics of wall or scud clouds. One home was reported demolished by this weather event.

  • you guys are all wrong look it up it was a confirmed tornido it hit my house my roof was demolished

  • I admit this was weird and fascinating but a tornado would have came from the cloud, and there would be rotation. At that size it would have had debris flying all over the place. That did not have rotation, debris, and was stationary....

  • Definitely a scud cloud, as it appears not to be attached to the parent cloud, and is moving away from the storm... A sure sign it's outflow dominant. This makes the chances of a tornado a lot lower than when a storm is inflow dominant, when tornadoes are more likely. If in doubt, look for deep, tight, strong rotation and keep watch of that area. Any legitimate funnel clouds get reported asap of course.

  • you dont know anything youve never been in a tornado

  • And how would you know?

    You don't know me.

I have actually studied weather before, I think I have some knowledge and I have actually seen a lot of funnel clouds forming and rotation so I kinda know.

  • Def not a tornado. Do a little research as to how they are formed.

  • Oh that tornado almost made me pee my pants! it was scary

  • That is definitely a tornado

  • That is insane cedar park must be in northern texas huh?

  • no its just outside of austin

  • i liked the other audio better

  • i was in that freaking tornado it came right by my house to i live in ranch of cypress creek to

  • What is this music? Either Radiohead or Coldplay.

  • You weren't the guy who called in a false tornado report and set the sirens off and scared all of Cedar Park's kids, were you? Dude, there isn't any sign of a tornado in this thing. That is a wall cloud with heavy rain, so don't hit the fire alarm again when there is no fire! You can see real tornado formations by doing a search on youtube for "tornadoes Nebraska"

  • Nice video but dude! Five and a half minutes is way too long for that irritating music track.

  • man, me, my dad and my little brother just got back from wal mart when the storm got bad, the power went out for a few seconds then it came back on and the news started broadcasting a tornado warning, wow, freaky night

  • Huh? Tornadoes aren't faster than cars. If a car is going 30 mph and the tornado is moving at 35, then yeah. But a car can totally outrun a tornado. Where some people have gotten killed in cars by tornadoes is they misjudge the speed and direction of the tornado, the majority of time, the direction it is moving.

  • that night was scary... the power went out for a few seconds then all of a sudden we had a tornado warning

  • dude it waz crazy i live in plano and houses got struck..

  • wow! that was a scary night... i live in cypress creek and i didnt know thats wat it looked like!!! nice film work man!!!

  • O wow, I just saw the end, man, how did you not just run away when that thing turned into an all out tornado?! I would be leaving town for awhile.

  • wow that looks like an insane storm man. Man what is that, blue and green sky?? Those clouds look pretty mean too.

  • Wall clouds generally begin with scud clouds until there is enough inflow to make a visible solid cloud that protrudes from the cloud base. This storm may have been exhibiting rotation, but with the obvious high moisture environment, the fact that a wall cloud had not fully formed, which was what you were looking at, tells me that there, doubtfully, was a tornado touchdown.

  • Why did you use this stupid song instead of the actual sound from the video??

  • wall cloud is a lowering from cloud base with evident rotation. is most cases tornadoes are found in the wall cloud. and BTW this is not a wall cloud in this video. I was chasing this storm in from lampasas and area of rotation was closer to round rock. what you see here is just SCUD(mositer being pulled into cloud base) Most people mistake scud clouds as tornadoes. from this video no rotation is cited

  • I was wondering, why weren't you fleeing like everyone else, instead of standing there, filming?

  • u dont flee a tornado, thats more dangerous than staying in one spot

  • How come?

(Sorry, I live in an area where tornadoes can't happen, so I've never learnt what to do and what not to do in the situation...)

  • Its ok, its because tornados are obviously faster than cars, and the winds could topple your car over, its hard to explain but i did the best i could

  • Oh, that makes a lot of sense. Thanks.

  • LuvableBaka, a tornado can happen ANYWHERE.

  • True, but in my area, they're very rare. There has NEVER been one, so people here say it's impossible is all.

  • that is a wall cloud. It is not a tornado.

  • What is a wall cloud? and what does it do?

  • It's a lowered rotating cloudbase otherwise known as a mesocyclone, it produces the amount of rotation and resources nessicary to form a tornado/

  • Wow, I think that is the same funnel cloud I saw tot he east (I'm in Avery Ranch) that appeared to be over Cedar Park ... it was quite scary and then thank go it finally started to break down at the end. Great Video scary yet interesting night

  • And the dumbest people, still driving home, in what cud have been deadly, if it had touched.

  • tonados are so awesome to see but not when they are close to your house..haha

  • Seems like a wall cloud was maybe sucked into an updraft?

  • you should have just used the sound from the video

  • Could you put it up with the audio? Great video, dont get me wrong, I and other people just enjoy videos like this with the origanal audio.

  • Agree. I actualy like the music very much, but this kind of video is really better with the original audio.

  • Large hail associated with this guy.

  • Good video, but why do people always have to put music with it? why not just the sweet sounds of nature!

  • I agree. everyone wants to make a music video out of everything

  • man im 17 i was home alone during that. it sucked. where i was it was pitch black so i couldnt see what was going on.

  • this wasn't a tornado,if you watch the news and live in texas you would know. It never touched down.

  • Commonly mistaken for a Tornado, this is typical cloud cover Zinglonians use when extracting pods from under the Earth's Terra Firma.

  • This is amazing. whats the song?

  • Watch at 4;27 you can see my truck go by.Damn I look cool

  • Some amazing and incredible footage, so much so, that I respectfully suggest you choose different background music. It doesn't complement the images that you recorded. Otherwise, a really nice job.

  • That storm was insane. Almost all my neighbors got damage to their homes

  • my boss lives in cedar park

  • I saw something very similar here in Corpus Christi a few weeks ago... except the "small cloud" was white...

  • I didn't see any funnel clouds in your video but you did a great job filming a nasty looking storm! Not to say there wasn't a twister somewhere in the storm(maybe out of view from your camera).

  • apparently you didn't watch the whole video...at 4:15 you can see a distinct vortex

  • At 4:15 there is NO vortex! If there is the video sure didn't pick it up! Is the small cloud shaped like a vortex? I would say yes but there is NO sign of spinning! Still the video is cool!

  • what song is it?

  • i was in the middle of all this with no windshield wipers. sad.

  • My car already had hail damage from before, and good thing I was lazy and hadn't gotten it fixed yet, cuz it got some more from this storm... :(

  • Beautiful video.

  • OMG.that was so scary last night !!

  • That was scary last night!

  • Yes it was

  • ha i moved to colorado a cuple days before this happend.

  • This was fun to watch from the Plucker's patio with my margarita!

  • That's a scud cloud moving low to the ground around the base of the storm. Scud clouds often get confused for tornadoes.

  • oh no. that was a tornado, according to doppler radar, and the city of cedar park police department confirmed the funnel cloud.

  • They just said on the news it was a scud cloud.

  • Cool video but the music makes me feel like I'm on hold.

  • Thanks for posting this. I was sitting on my back porch on Brushy Creek Road (the other end of Cypress Creek Rd) when I saw this wall cloud off to the northwest, and thought "oh that looks bad" just as the hail started falling!

  • I would have screamed bloody murder. LOL

  • nice wall cloud

  • i was really sared cause i come from california and we dont have tornadoes over there so yeah

  • Great job capturing the storm! Also, I checked out the shoes on your other videos, they are awesome! You should try selling those at some of the city's festivals.

  • This video looks amazing and eerie.

  • tornado

  • Did this one touch down near structures/people?

  • Im off of "El Slaido" 620, i saw this cloud start spinning, air raid siren's going off hail comming down, God i love central texas weather !

  • Air raid sirens? Were you guys under attack? :)

  • LOL, tornados don't form from the ground UP to the sky.. besides, there's no rotation...no funnel. You'd see the wall cloud drop, kinda like what you're showing on the video, then rotation, then the funnel cloud will start to dip DOWN..once it touches the ground and there is verifiable debris, then you have your tornado.

Very interesting and creepy, but a tornado, it is not.

  • Are you a tornado expert? I hate people who think they know what they are talking about.

Actually they do form from the ground up in the early stages. They start as a rotating vortex on the ground or sometimes multiple vortecys. Get your facts right before you claim to be expert.

  • lol..dude, that is no tornado.. you didn't answer my question, where is the debris? and no, i'm no expert, but any amateur should know that much, lol. i tell you what...send the footage to any news crew, they'll tell you the same thing.. no rotation, no debris=no tornado. period.

  • Im a storm chaser and i actually followed this through from lampasas and i assure you not a tornado here. Thats a major scud. baically moiusture(clouds) being pulled into the storm. Its actually a problem and its just not you but many that take scud clouds as a tornado. better to be safe than sorry but there was no wall cloud and rotation on this.

  • lol Basically Moisture.

  • I'm in Leander and was able to see plenty of cloud rotation directly overhead as the storm passed by. I moved from Tulsa, Ok and after living there for 14 years you get used to tornado weather. I grabbed the emergency kit, flashlight, kids, pets and shoes and squeezed into our 1/2 bath downstairs until it blew over. Weather like this is cool to look at but people need to be safe.

  • We had the hall closet cleaned out to hide in.

  • so did we

  • no rotation, not a tornado

  • Ughh, this crap makes me nervous. My bf lives there.

  • that was not a tornado though, no rotation in the clouds, no ground contact, was nice video though and the storm was pretty strong.

if youve just moved to austin, and live in nw austin, rr, cedar park, leander, this is the norm for those areas, so get used to it

  • was a heck of a storm that rolled through town last night, bet the yankees and californians were thinking why did we move here!!!

  • I'm a former Californian and we are not unused to Tornadoes. I have seen 5 tornadoes in my life, ALL in California. 4 in the greater Sacramento area and 1 in San Jose that included a "pack" of 5 rotating vortexes in front of the actual tornado. They may only be F0 or F1 in scale, but they were still tornadoes. About this video, I saw the same type of cloud from Round Rock. not sure if I was looking at the east side of this storm or another, but I saw the same type "scud" cloud below a wall cloud

  • damn that shit was like 5 mins away from my house ):

  • Lots of good ozone to enhance the moment! Breathtaking!

  • wow thts really interesting. i was freaking out at my place lol

    great shots

  • holy hell, i was laying on the floor in my bathroom when i heard the weather broadcast, you have some crazy balls to be standing out there. but thanks for the footage.

  • I am not one to panic when I see a t-storm coming but this one made me very cautious. I ran for cover last night to a first floor parking garage to protect my car and myself. No to mention I live on the top floor at the apt complex I live it; not the best place to be especially since the worst part of the storm ended up passing my place by about a half mile.
