Well that does not make people believe what they are hearing on fox news. I search for fox news vids because i like hearing crazy talk. (The comments here are pretty funny too) :)

If CNN were to prove that fox made a "horrible mistake" (pointing out that they lie occasionally) they will get incredibly distrusted. It might increase their ratings but people will believe the opposite of what they hear on fox news. Fox news influence what people think but not in the way they want.

I think there is a big misunderstanding.  Reps don't oppose big government because they are selfish or evil. It's because pumping money into the problem doesn't work. If this were true, all the poor countries in the world would only have to spend more on government and they'd be out of poverty.

Spending on education would be fine if we did something like that. And I agree, I shouldn't have used the word republican. Almost every R in office is interventionist and keynesian. Europe spends a lot less on Military, and they spend much more on education. That extra funding is reminiscent of them having a superior and more efficient educational structure. Researching to figure out what works, costs money too.

Every R isn't necessarily interventionist. They are Corporatist. Most D's want real regulation of the economy. There is a difference between regulating and favoring. A regulation free economy isnt a legit answer. It's naive to think that will solve it all.
