Hi...That is rough, I understand. When I was younger, about 9 or 10 i had a staph infection that looked like a pimple one day and the nexd day had spread into a scab that got larger. Antibiotic, (oral) treatment combined with Polysporrin worked. It DID heal within two weeks. I have also had a time with the MRSA. which is the long-lasting one. Again, oral antibiotics and an ointment called Fusidin to coat the entire inner surface of my nostrils because that is where the staph begins.

It just got bigger and harder and PAINFUL! I could not break it for relief it was too deep. And I thought I would go mad after six months. I finally had it surgically removed. If it had been anywhere else on my body I probably would have faired just fine, but there is something about the face.....took a terrible emotional toil.
I have one on my face. Everyone will eventully have a moment like this. But mine doesn't show nearly as much as yours. Mine is the color of my skin. :(

Also ppl develop a tolerance to antibiotics and they wont work for staff if they took them for colds or something miner in the past all the time. You have impetigo from a staph infection. clean with hydrogen peroxide, then rub bedadine solution, leave on for 10 minutes, then wash off with warm water and leave warm towel on for few minutes, then rub bactroban and then you need oral antibiotics,,,,,,use clindamycin... weight will determine your dosage......
@bayside: overuse of antibiotics through soups and cleansers is one of the reasons MRSA is so prevalent today.
Washing hands frequently with soap for at least 30 seconds and rinsing thoroughly under warm water is the best way to be hygienic and not create antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria.

I Had A Skin Infection and I know How You Feel! It is one of the most uncumfortable things to g through, like, EVER! Its sore, itchy and uncomfortable and there isnt much you can do about it until the medication starts working. I had mine for two weeks!
Oh dear, I'm sorry you have to go thru this. I have a type of MRSA that one of my doctors says, the bacteria lives on the tip of my nose and sometimes I have breakdowns but it's not bad like yours. I just use a Bactroban Cream Mupirocin Calcium 2% cream that controls it from time to time.

It's certainly drying up! I've gotten staph infections (not MRSA) on my face, and it ended up coming from my nose. My nose would get itchy and id rub it from side to side like any kid and its spread into my pores on my cheeks,,,, it kept coming back starting from 3rd grade, it was a horror to grow up with. It's getting much better though!

Oh dear, I'm sorry you have to go thru this. I have a type of MRSA that one of my doctors says, the bacteria lives on the tip of my nose and sometimes I have breakdowns but it's not bad like yours. I just use a Bactroban Cream Mupirocin Calcium 2% cream that controls it from time to time.
I hope you feel better and maybe someday find a cure for that terrible disease. I know it sux. I'm sending good vibes to u.

of course it looks better! you were beautiful before the infection during the infection and now that your getting better your gona have beautiful skin because that dead skin is going away and the skin underneath is going to be soft and gorgeous =]

It's certainly drying up! I've gotten staph infections (not MRSA) on my face, and it ended up coming from my nose. My nose would get itchy and id rub it from side to side like any kid and its spread into my pores on my cheeks,,,, it kept coming back starting from 3rd grade, it was a horror to grow up with. It's getting much better though!

o yep from the pics you showed it does actually look like it's clearing up. amazing. and that stuff said not to put it on broken skin, inhale, etc. etc. and they still told you to use it? wild.
