  • Umm How do you fold the paper to do the square shape in the beginning ? (:

  • @zombieeatscookies

Just check the description and you'll find the link to the preliminary base (that's how the beginning figure is called)!

    :-)

  • i got lost

  • @samsyd116

    At what step's number?

I numbered just in order to give the viewer a chance to ask for advices!

    ^_^

  • this is so easy and so cute!! thanks!!

  • @hab075

Thanks to you, for being so kind: your words mean a lot, to me!

    :-)

  • Is this a good one for someone like me who knows how to make a paper crane, ninja star, transforming ninja star, box, swan, and a plane?

  • @xCillaKiwiix

    For sure it is!

First of all, after having made this one... well, you will be able to add it to the list: I mean, you will increase your knowledge and experience in origami, which is great!

Also, I think that this definitely is easier than the crane, hence you'll learn it with no effort!

And... you'll be able to make presents with it, for your beloved ones!

(It begins with the preliminary (square) base, whose link is in the description.)

    Have a great origami time!

  • I got pissed when I knew it was that easy... but i know it was hard for the one who invented it. Nice vid! :D I was practicing for Valentines day xD

  • @Giratina0911

Oh, there are so many ideas and inventions for which one could say:

"How did I not think about this myself?"

You're so right, whoever came out with this, maybe by playing around with a piece of paper, was inspired... and we just don't know how many tries it took!

Thank you for your very kind words!

    Practicing is the key!

    ^_^

  • poop i thought it was a box

  • @MikeeRox01

It isn't a box (I would have written that, in the title).

Still, it seems to me that this design isn't that bad.

  • UR STUPID.

  • @minesweetpea

    A little advice.

Put it like this, your sentence is just a senseless offence.

Whatever you're trying to criticize, about this video, your words aren't detailed enough for to let understand what you exactly mean.

    So.

Can you please express the concept in a more understandable way?

    What didn't you like, exactly?

Really, you can do better than that!

Oh, and... I guess you were taught what good manners are: please, make use of that knowledge you have. Ok?

    Thank you.

  • @danbergam Thank You! (:

  • @annabanana1141

    Thanks *to you*!

    :-)

  • Will Valentines fit in these? Like little cards? (:

  • @annabanana1141

I think they will, but they should be small.

Another solution could be to fold'em, if they're made of regular paper by following a 4x4 - 8x8 grid, in order to achieve a smaller size!

Or, considering that the heart has 2 sizes and 2 pockets, one could break the message in two and fold the little cards in 2x2 parts or such; in this way (supposing to be able to identify which half goes 1st) there'd be some suspence for who reads the message, one half at a time! :-)

  • wow is a merd

  • @zombiefigo1

  • At first, when I looked at the tag, it looked more like a box....

  • @WhiteShooterChan

Looks like many others had that kind of impression!

Sorry if you've been deluded... but I hope that you are satisfied by how the final heart came out!

    ^_^

  • i like it so does my gf

  • @iwuvwar

Thank you so much, for your appreciation and for letting me now about such a sweet thing!

    :-)

  • I LIKE YOU!! XD (the end annotation that heart says)

  • @QueenofGaianeria

Isn't it amazing, how the greatest feelings can be told with such simple words?

    ^_^

  • takes a long time

  • @aramirez1130

    Yes, it does.

But, in my opinion, the result is worthy of the effort and time spent!

I hope you agree... and that you are satisfied with your own paper heart came out!

    :-)

  • Es en ingles no entiendo XD

  • @Wapa22xD

¡Por suerte, los movimientos de los dedos hablan sin cualquier idioma!

    "Step" = "Paso"

  • do we have to glue

  • @emo6666die

No, you don't need to do that, as long as you crease enough those little flaps!

    ^_^

  • :3 I thought it was going to be 3D :O

  • @ilikecandyx0x

Many have that impression, by looking at the thumbnail... still, the two pockets in the heart end being useful, and I hope you liked it anyway!

    ^_^

  • nice.., tnx you help me :))

  • @nycreed2010

Thanks to you, for letting me know about it: it's a great reward!

    :-)

  • ^ ^ U

  • thank you so much your awesome i made this for my boy friend and he loved it! I put a paper that said love on it and hung a mini rainbow candy cane on the other side of the pocket.

  • @sarahkaypearman

Ah, that's something I really could have done: showing how one can put things on both the sides of the heart!

I'm definitely sure that you boyfriend loves it, because the heart you made for him with your own hands clearly speaks about your feelings and the dedication and the will you put in them!

Thank you for letting me know about such a beautiful thing!

May the Lord bless you both!

    :-D

  • how bout starting from the beginning wise guy are we supposed to read your mind

  • @gusawasa247

How about actually paying attention, at 0:39, and reading that subtitle saying:

'Preliminary base (See lesson # 1)'

and maybe giving a look at the description, where the link to that video is clearly shown?

If there's something I just cannot do, is reading and thinking at your place!

A little advice: next time try to be a little more humble. There's a lot to to change and improve in ourselves, before concentrating on others' flaws...

  • took too much time to complete 1 min task.........boring

  • @loveblackberryy

    "1 min"?

I suppose you are (or consider yourself) a quite expert folder, if you say that this would take a minute to complete.

But now, what if you were someone who never (and I mean *never*) tried origami before and was trying to fold this for the first origami time ever? Would you really be able to follow a 1-2 mins tutorial? I think you wouldn't.

These tutorials are meant to be followed by beginners as well: that's why I intentionally made them slow.

  • Thanks for the awesome tutorial, I made for my special, I hope she likes it ^_^ , I would subscribe but I'm on my iPod and idk how, and it's 3:39am here, I can't sleep since I'm thinking about her, once again, I thank you

  • @maddog44123

Now, that's dedication, to her: I really hope, for you, that she might realize how much she means for you... and I'll guess she'll actually do, because a paper heart made with your own hands by night just speaks about the will, the patience, the dedication, the love you find in your heart for her.

About the subscription, feel free to do it whenever you want/can.

For now, may your feelings be returned and may you be happy: that's my wish for you!

    Thank you so much!

  • easy, cool and awesome. Great video. just first could you show how to make the diamond at the beginning.

  • @HLN124200

    Thank you very much!

At around 0:39 a subtitle says:

'Preliminary base (See lesson # 1)'

That figure has its own video.

And the link to that base's tutorial is written in the description of this video... but you may also find it in my 'and origami for all' playlist.

  • @HLN124200 hey smart one use a square and turn it

  • please talk!!

  • @sweetygirl900

This is a recorded video, not a realtime broadcast: hence, I cannot talk in it.

For what step(s) I can give you a written explanation?

    ^_^

  • @danbergam fine!! ._____.!

  • It doesn't count as origami when you use glue.Duh

  • @ItsDaLongestNameEver

It does, in my humble opinion, when, like in this specific case, the glue is *not* really *needed* and could have been avoided by simply creasing more firmly those flaps.

I mean, here I'm not using glue for to, let's say, join two physically separated pieces of paper: that would have been worse!

Using glue, here, has the simple purpose to let those flaps stay in place and give a more neat result.

  • The people who disliked do not fully understand the AWESOMENESS of origami!

  • @CobaltStormDragon

You know what? I think you're right! ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by and being so kind!

    :-D

  • @danbergam No problem! :P

  • i made it. Thank you !

  • @pepenealbastru

Thanks to you, for letting me know your satisfaction!

    :-)

  • I made one for someone special :D:D thankyou! :D

  • @awesomefuujutsushi

Thanks *to you*, for warming my heart with such an uplifting thing!

I'm sure that your "someone special" will feel all your good feelings in the paper presents you made with your own hands!

May you both have a great everything!

    :-D

  • @danbergam I just hope she likes the one i made.. :)

  • @awesomefuujutsushi

I believe she will: behind a handmade present like this there's a lot about you... your dedication, your will, your patience!

    :-)

  • @danbergam And thanks again :) and thankyou for your kind words ^^

  • @awesomefuujutsushi

    Just deserved!

    :-)

  • like it so much

  • @yswead97

I can definitely say that I like your comment so much!

    Thank you!

    :-)

  • @mandyswenson13 hate yourself

  • Glue can be used in origami, Just because Wikipedia says its not origami doesnt mean its true. if you abid by the exact definition of origami "The art of folding A piece of paper" Then modular origami would be out the window, not including many others like certain boxes. Its still origami, maybe just not traditional.

  • @FrightfulMagic

I really, really appreciate your defense! :-)

Definitely, this design (apart from the glue thing) *is* traditional!

And, as I always stress out, glue, in this specific case, has not a fundamental role: I mean, I am *not* sticking together two separated pieces of paper... it's just a (skippable) finishing touch.

And you're right, let's think about modular origami!

Thank you so much for stopping by and being so kind!

    :-)

  • great.... I like it

  • theres no glue in origami

  • @turtles123567894

In four years, they told me that a lot of times. The video is the way it is, mistakes included.

  • wow you cheated no origami has GLUE

  • @TheDest99

I didn't know that, 4 years ago, at the time when I made this video.

Now I know it, considering that thousands people have been reminding it.

By the way, the video is the way it is.

Still, I want to point out that the glue, here, doesn't play a major role: this one-piece figure would have come out even without the glue!

  • thank a lot!^_^

  • @ainhi1505

    Thanks *to you*!

    ^_^

  • i did exactly what you did. which means i used a glue. haha :P

  • @joonerdify

You know what? If you felt like it was the right thing to do... in my humble opinion you took the best choice!

    :-D

Hope you're satisfied with the result!

    ^_^

  • WARNING THIS IS NOT ORAGAMI!!!!!! cuz he used GLUEEEEEEEE

thats like a bad word in oragami!!! *u can use tape!*

  • @TomaszsamoT

A mistake is easy, when you don't know rules and their strictness: that's what happened to me, while making this tutorial.

    I didn't know that rule's strictness!

Still, this *is* origami: glue isn't used to join 2 separated pieces of paper, hence, it isn't necessary!

But, comparing this to a "bad word" is *excessive*!

Many people said bad words to me, about it; check the comments to find it out!

    P.S.

Do you know that writing in capital letters is like yelling? Is it yelling good?

  • you dont know how to talk? actually talk next time

  • @justinbieberishot88

You could say "please", first of all.

Of course, I do know how to talk!

    1) to me, origami is silence and concentration: folding and talking at the same time isn't that good

    2) when I made this, I was at the beginning of my YT experience, hence I was shy about talking on cam

    3) English isn't my first language; I made this tutorial 4 years ago, and at the time I wasn't much experienced in speaking it.

Have you understood anything? Any step I can clarify?

  • @justinbieberishot88 haha you got pwned

  • SMILY FACE TIME :D

  • @Paigeterable

To be honest, I was relieved that the smiley face time arrived! ;-)

    Smiling at you in return!

    :-D

  • @danbergam wow your smile have nose :D

  • umm why dont you tell us that your not ganna show us the folds and act high tech and freze frame oh yea and GLUE ISNT ORIGAMI!!!!!!!

  • @Paigeterable

Well, I actually show the folds!

"Act high tech"? Hmmm, I guess I'm more old style.

The freezing frame is there because YT used to chose three frames to represent the video in very specific positions.

Glue should not be used in origami, yes: but this is still origami, imho, because glue is unnecessary.

    ^_^;;

  • :)

  • @danbergam this. is. *high pitch voice* AWESOME !!! but im very much confused.. why is glue used in this ???????????? :S you can still get a smile also. :DD

  • @Sandra197000

Haha, glue is used here because... I'm self-taught in origami: I began with a book. Despite it stated "origami = no scissors, no glue", I had not someone explaining to me the strictness of that rule in terms like: - You know what, Dan? If you'll ever dare to use glue for an origami model, origami purists never stop to scold you about it! And the worst part is that some will be rude and vulgar too! Never dare to do that! Never! -

Thank you so much for being gentle about it! ^_^

  • @danbergam Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... I knew that, pshh. But your welcome ! :D

  • Using glue isn't origami mate :p

  • @campbell5243

In these four years I think I was told that like a thousand times!

By the way, this gave me the chance to seriously repent about that, and I wouldn't dare to do it again for anything in the world!

I hope you liked the tutorial, apart from the "glue" thing.

Oh, and... thank you for politely telling that!

  • Awesome birthday present. Seriously- thankyou. Im sure she'll love it. :) I used 'Happy Birthday' Origami paper- and layered some squares of coloured card behind it and slipped in a tiny note. Haha; ill let you know how it goes! :D

  • @blazinbill34

Many thanks to you, for letting me know such a sweet thing... you know, the little, simple joys of Life are often the most important ones!

Congratulations for the creativity with which you've customized it: definitely, she will get, "behind the folds", the will, the patience, the dedication... and finally the love, in your present! There is and will be, in it, more than the paper actually shows!

Yes, please, I'll be waiting to know how it'll go!

    Good luck!

    :-)

  • @danbergam It went fantastically! Greatest present she had gotten all day, Thankyou :D

  • @blazinbill34

Oh, well, I'm really happy about that!

You're welcome, and... be proud of yourself, because you actually made it!

Thank you for the smile you've put on my face!

  • Wow... Origami is full of... Happiness? I don't know, but it's SUPER fun and gets stress off my back. Thanks! It's real nice!

  • @KevinL29

Origami can give happiness, indeed: what matters is that one loves doing it and the final result!

    :-)

And yes, when it's effective, it really can take away stress! :-D

Thanks to you, for such uplifting words!

  • @TheGmastr

And me I like that you like them!

    ^_^

  • origami does not need glue that is a craft not origami

  • @skaterscallejeros

    This still is origami.

    The glue was used because:

    1) I was a beginner

    2) The written instructions I found about this heart suggested to use it

but, if you think about it, those tips of glue *are not needed*, because I didn't join two separate pieces of paper: it would be enough to better and more firmly crease those parts or to tuck inside and they would stay in place by themselves.

Hence, I claim this is "origami with not needed glue"... but still origami.

    ^_^

  • @danbergam no its not origami is all paper no glue, tape, scissors if u use em then its a craft!!!!

  • i did it the first time nd i came out perfect the second time it came out even better =]

  • @me123carmen

Then, congratulate with yourself and your origami skills: because, without them, my instructions wouldn't have been enough, for to achieve such a good result!

    :-)

Thank you so much for letting me know your satisfaction!

    ^_^

  • @danbergam no problem nd yea im kinda good at origami skiills

  • @me123carmen

    Glad for you!

    :-)

  • It would be a lot better if you talked during your videos, and you shouldn't need any glue or tape for origami.

  • @TOILETxxUSER14

Talking: I'm thinking about that, but English is not my first language, and if we combine it with the very specific terminology of origami... I'm not sure about it.

About the glue: it isn't needed, in facts. Simply, when I made this video, the instructions I found suggested the use of it, and I wasn't aware of the strictness of that rule.

Anyway, it isn't such a terrible thing: if we look at newspapers or news on tv, in this world happen way worse crimes.

  • thumbs up if you love this man doing orgami!

  • @blackeyepeasrocks

    This was well put. Really.

    Thank you soooooo much!

    :-D

  • i will do this for someone especial.

  • @hizmar

That someone will be impressed by how this folded heart... because this heart, with its folds, will tell a lot about you and your feelings!

Thank you so much, for letting me know such a beautiful thing!

    :-D

  • did you try the lucky star?

  • @alberlos

You know? I think I tried it, years ago, but I think I wasn't really satisfied with the result... the model in itself looks great: it's just that I wasn't satisfied with the way I made it!

    ^_^

  • i thought it was 3d thumbs up if u thought it was 3d

  • this is not a real origami, as you shouldn't need tools like glue etc. for them =)

  • @OriginalSteeldude

You're right, one of the rules of origami say to not use scissors nor glue.

4 years ago I was a beginner and I found instructions for this and used glue as they suggested.

    Now.

Look what you wrote: "you shouldn't *need*". But here, those folds could stay the way they should by simply creasing them firmly enough... I mean, glue isn't needed for this model! In facts, I didn't glue two separated pieces of paper.

This still *is* origami, imho... only, with unneeded glue!

    ^_^

  • @danbergam yeah, but as you say, you didn't have to use the glue at all =) you should have done it without the glue, it would look the same and the glue wouldn't ruin the "effect" =) but I agree, it can be said that it's still an origami ... I justed wanted to point it out =D

  • @OriginalSteeldude

Don't mind, I understand what you mean.

Thank you for your kindness and politeness!

    ^_^

  • @danbergam wow, I didn't expect a reaction like this ... you gotta be a fine guy, thanks =D

  • @OriginalSteeldude

    I'm not that special.

But, if you check back other comments on this vid about that glue, you'll see how many people *insulted* me because of that... because of a tip of glue on a piece of paper.

Each single time someone politely points out that issue, believe me, I can appreciate it!

    ^_^

    P.S.

You must be cool as well, I guess!

    ^_^

  • @danbergam well, don't mind the insults ... some people have a strange way to ventilate their feelings ... I'm not cool at all, I just don't like unneccessary arguements =) but you did a good job, it's been a few months since I did an origami heart, but it was a different one, it had wings ... but when I showed it to my friend, he said that he wouldn't give it to anyone, but I liked it =D he is much better in origami than me, though, so in the end I threw it away ...

  • @OriginalSteeldude

Oh, that's sad... that you threw away the paper heart you mad and were so satisfied of! Anyway, I'm glad if you kind return to origami and give it another try!

As longs as it satisfies you and makes you learn and grow, it's good!

    ^_^

  • @danbergam yep =D and I have to admit that origami makes you seem to be a more studious person :) I never got into origami that much, but at least I know how to make a butterfly and a crane ... and a heart, although I tend to forget the steps =)

  • @OriginalSteeldude

"A more studious person"? I never thought about that. I mean, I've always been associating it more to creativity and imagination, for the process of foreseeing in what appears to be a regular square of paper a figure which can be as complicated as you want; and, because it's a form of art, in my opinion; only, it's founded on geometrical principles, but you don't need really to know'em: proof is that even children can do origami! :-D

You know some great figures, indeed!

  • @danbergam it's about creativity, when you think about an original originami, but if I were to follow your video, I wouldn't be using neither creativity, nor imagination, as everything is you idea :) and I'd say that more people only copy other's origami and don't attempt to create their own unique ones :) but you're right, only creative people would attemp to do one :)

  • Genial!! haré uno para mi novio :)

  • @viriie

    Muchas gracias!

    :-)

  • i think ill make it for my crush on valentines day if i get 10 thumbs up

  • @monsterenergy418

If you really like the one you have a crush for, you'll make this paper heart no matter how many thumbs up you'll get... because, you know, to love is to give!

  • este corazon esta super facil y genial!!! gracias por compartirlo....

  • @edicanna

Muchas, muchas gracias for your very kind words!

PUT THIS ON AT LEAST 5 VIDEOS IN 143 MINUTES WHEN UR DONE PRESS F6 AND UR LOVERS NAME WILL APPEAR ON THE SCREEN IN BIG LETTERS. THIS IS SO SCARY CAUSE

  • THIS IS NOT ORIGAMI why do people think that paper folding and GLUEING is origami YOU DO NOT USE GLUE ON ORIGAMI

  • @nevadalilli

First of all, there's no need to be so upset about it: after all, we're talking about a piece of paper!

Anyway, let me unfold a little reasoning.

This figure was made from a single square, hence the glue hasn't a fundamental role: specifically, it doesn't attach two separate pieces of paper... hence the glue wasn't necessary at all in order to obtain the finished figure!

I'd rather call this "origami with some unneeded glue"... which makes the rule's breaking less worse, imho.

  • weell i dont understand NOthing! D:

  • @dennavega

In the description of this video, there is the link to the preliminary base, the figure shown at the beginning.

I invite you to try that, before, because it's simpler than this... and it's required for to make this heart!

And, by the way... for any doubt about any step feel free to ask!

    ^_^

  • i like the users who reply all the questions and all the comments and opinions :)

  • with origami, you dont need any scissors, tape, OR glue.
