Let's make it easy and say A 747 stalls at 145 knots, it falls straight down (probably damaging landing gear, and it stops within 2 seconds? Does that make sense?

The only way to stop an object moving that fast is to erect a brick wall on the deck that it will slam into; it'll probably stop within moments, but I doubt u'll be able to take off in it again (sarcasm).
