The movie made him about to be a tad out of his mind by imaginating most of (if not all) of his killings. Vega as a assassin, makes money of it, and is superb martial arts fighter with his signature weapon. So he seems to be a perfectionist when it comes to killings.

Pat Bateman was clearly a serial killer also, simply because he liked the pleasure of killing people. He was also a narcissist also though as he had wanted people to look up to him as perfection and he wanted grandeur and social acceptance which is why he had the job and lifestyle that he had.
