  • i have ES8 and XS8, Motif ES hammer touch key is better than XS,.. i always use my ES for recording and stage performance.

  • I love the little song, I listen to it over and over..lol

  • Casio needs a guy like this to sell their stuff!

  • Haha! I love his enthusiasm! :D

    And he's got talent too!

  • Fuck noob

  • @wasgehtap Wait, Bert Smorenburg a noob? BWAHAHAHAHAHA!! Nice joke, man!

  • just ordered an XF8. Should be here next week.

  • This is the best demo I've ever seen.

  • hmmm it do all for you hehe.

  • to me i wouldnt hav the mo. i got the xs because the much larger LCD screen is much more convenient and there are more parameters that i can change around at my immediate disposal.

  • Whats better...motif es6 motif 7 or triition studio?

  • Never compare a Motif with a lame Korg. It's blasphemous.

  • how so

  • Korg's acoustic instrument patches sound like casio compared to a Motif.

  • waht about the synthesizers. woodwindes. electric sounds, drums etc

  • Well each instrument has different sounds so it's just a matter of taste in those categories.

  • so as you say korgs instruments sound like a casio Motif COULD sound like a casio when comparing synths and drums to a korg.....

  • No.. In terms of ACOUSTIC sounds... Korgs sound poor.

  • so other than acousitcs would a motif OVERALL sounds be better than a kOrg or phantom ....im looking to make funk, hip hop, rnb, soul...right now i use a dx21 midi to CUbase 5

  • I would still say motif... It's just easier to use and just sounds too good.

  • what is a good price for a motif 6? is thier a big diffrence between the ES and the normal

  • You could find them on craigslist or ebay easily for like $1000 aroun there. The ES has improved sounds and more sounds that's all.

  • I would say motif but the fantom is about the safor me. Juz gets a little more getting used to. try both out at your local store and get korg outta ur mind.

  • lol your the second person to say get korg out of your mind, whats so bad about it?

  • Its not bad by itself but the price is about the same as the motif. An the motif's features and capabilities far outrun the korg m3. I know because I've owned both. The karma thing isn't that big a deal.

Anyway with these things its a matter of personal taste. No recommendation should overrule what you're comfortable with. -D

  • so the korg tirtion donest ahveas good acoustic sounds as motif right? what about synthesizers and drums?

  • Right. The synths are pretty much the same. Korgs drums are decent but even then the motif sounds better to me. Sorry if I sound like I hate korg but I'm being honest.

  • ok cuz im looking for good synth and good acoustics....to make hip hop rnb and soul and trannce and funk... would the motif be able to be a good keyboar d for that..also .what about the phantom x6?

  • once again (in my opinion the motif will be gr for those. Try it out first.

the fantom x6 is rolands equivalent to the es6 which has similar capabilities especially for live performance and hip hop. Also I like the huge LCD! Its a bit more expensive though. you really must try all three of them out. if u cant then download their manuals 2 get an idea. ;)

  • i know my music shop has the LE of the trition not the ful one but i seen a pawn shop that has 2 of them i think thier asking 500 for the korg...phantom and es6 ill look around to try them out!

    thx for help

btw lets say i got a motif and i hook it up to cubase would cubase be better to record than the on board sequencer? also when i hook it up to cubase i can use the sounds from the keyboard right? i dont have to rely on the sounds from cubase do i?

  • Ur welcome and yes you can use the sounds from the motif. recording with cubase is more advanced than the onboard sequencer. I don't really use cubase for recording but if u want to go really pro then you can use it.

In this case I found that the software that comes with korg is really good. Too bad they can't keep up with the other stuff.

    Good luck.

    Cheers -D

  • the motif is it easy to sequence on it with the small screen...

  • Im looking into getting a Yamaha Motif???

BUT...i dont know which one to get:

    The

    -ES

    -MO

    -XS

but one i know i dont want is the MM.

    Which one do you prefer???

  • XS :P

  • Y XS though? I wanna get the MO6 but how is it related to the XS? How do they all differ?

  • @ChibiWargy Es is the beat choice for money. The xs is a lil bit too expensive . Think a used es 6 is about 800 Euro. Great piece of equipment.

  • es = old motif

    xs= new motif

mo= budget version of motif ES

  • if u got alot of money you should get the xs. otherwise the es.

  • @SDKlackifornia ....... i know it's been a while but....GET THE XF!!!!! .... visit the yamaha website and check it out

  • hey SDKlackifornia..deff look into the brand new model just came out, its called the motif XF, stands for flash , its very powerfull, holds up to 7 hundred something wav rom and up to 2 gigs of flash memory

  • @SDKlackifornia what are u using it for? and what genre of music?

  • where did he get this styles?

    is this build in it?

  • YES

  • best sales person I've ever seen. ever. And Roland makes pretty sweet amps.

  • LOL I love this guy :D

  • このオッサンパワフルすぎるw

  • what? o_O

  • ROLAND?

XA XA XA XA XA,roland, the best wash machine

  • i dont know.... I'm just biased against roland cause I own a motif es...

    haha

  • roland xa for baby....

  • yamaha is the best one, roland is a disaster yamaha Motif xs and tyros 3 are the best ones than existen.roland is terrible and dehorns, is for nascent

  • Roland, eat your heart out!

  • roland mother fucker, is terrible

  • The Rhodes sounds are great. I learned to play piano on a Rhodes and believe me this was the closet thing to it until the XS !

  • is he appointed by yamaha as a salesman?.how much will e get paid?

  • I would've bought this workstation if I would get Bert with it.

  • bert is supriseddddddddddddddddddddd!!!

  • this guy is crazyyyyyyyy! HE ripped up that keyboard!!!

Very Nice DUDE!I want 1 of these now. get rid of the fantom

  • I had a triton and thought it was pants!!!

Just bought a Motif ES7 and it is brilliant, if your making hiphop or rnb Motif is the way forward, just look at scott storch, timberland, eminem, kanye west, manny fresh, damon dash, byrd gang and many more,,,,they all use the motif!!! It's a lot easier to use too.....the sequencer is amazing and it has a built in sampler.

The recording is one touch and the sound is awesome!!

    Good luck..

P.S I still have my triton - it's ok for a back up!

  • dont forget stevie wonder!

  • those rhodes sound retarded..

  • Bert is Class....like an excited kid

  • I like the Bert Smorenburg improvisations!

  • motif or triton....not the juno

  • Went ahead and got the Triton some time ago. Haven't looked back!

  • whats the song called that he's playing around 1:59?

  • Girl From Ipanema, by Joao Gilberto and Tom Jobim.

  • that guy is kick ass!

  • BERT SMORENBURG!!!!!!! if there was no bert there would be no motifs. gotta love him. I'm thinking about getting me a es6 but they are hard to come buy because the new xs's are popular. LETS GO BERT!

  • nope he is not dutch !!! and this dutch song wtf man lol i live in netherlands i nefer heard it !!

  • he's dutch you moron it says it in his MM6 video his name is bert

  • the Best demonstrator i ever heard full of energy exitment and timing...very good..God Bless

  • rofl the guy is haunting is

  • Oh my god its the crazy guy again from the other video

  • This guy is the best. Motif series won't be the same without him! :)

  • this guy must be on speed

  • onplastica i disagree, even a hacksaw blade and a flicking finger can be used as an instrument. you obviously don't have the creativity to make music so you think only "gibsons and grand piano's" are instruments."

this is the most ignorant post i've read on youtube to date... you must live on a boat.

  • i bet that he loves that keyboard more than his wife....

  • is that guy dutch?

  • Yes.

  • So true.

  • he's very fast...

  • No, honestly. That's not fast.

  • Those who say that stupid thing can check who the guy is looking for Bert Smorenburg in Google then enter the Smoor site, and may be you can know something about this guy. Good luck! You'll be wanting to be him!

  • what is the first song???!

  • Es una canción demo que tiene Bert, y que usa en todas sus videodemos ;)

    Saludos!

  • thats how he shows the right features every time, He's not trying to perform guys. As a Yamaha and Roland pro player and sales Mgr. It's all part of the sales pitch to make you want to purchase it.

  • LOL the motif ES song!!!

  • it sounds nice and wahwy :P

  • bert is the best demonstrator from YAM Europe team..
