I really disagree with prop 8 and its really not right, this is a free country, I think everyone should have the right to marry who they want. Now with this sorry ass Federal Judge banishing Prop 8, that tells us one thing, THE PEOPLES DECISION DOES NOT MATTER. That is what pisses me off because if Prop 8 had failed, the ones in favor would have protested that too and if it had been overturned, I would have been just as upset with the system because voting is for the people and not the courts.

There are other religions in the world, the US was founded on the basis of religious freedom. Making the decision to actually take the rights from a group of people, based on one religion, completely annihilates the constitution. There are only 50 states, and 30 of them have constitutional amendments protecting marriage's definition. About 6 states either allow SSM or recognize those of other states. The remainder have statutes protecting marriage. Oh, and that guy you elected president? He's for marriage being 1 man 1 woman too. So it really is our side that is winning in all of this.

Be certain that the court will not overturn the amendment. At worst all they will do is ignore it and say that the "marriages" that took place when they were allowed are still considered valid, but none after the date of enactment will be.

Also just do a search for "animal homosexuality" & "insect homosexuality" here on Youtube. There are more vids proving animal/insect homosexuality here than you can imagine. So it's not some crazy theory, it's very well proven & documented.

In order for a right to be inalienable, that would mean the right would have had to preexist the state. The right to life liberty preexisted the existence of the United States, because God gave those rights. States don't give inalienable rights, God does, and God did not give gays the right to be gay let alone to get married. Denied equal rights? No one is being denied. The law on marriage is between a man and woman, which applies to everyone! Meaning even straight people can't marry with the same sex. Which changes the argument to, let homosexuals live their way of life and be happy. So if we are denying people to marry the same sex, we are taking away their happiness and it is wrong. Excuse me, but California voted in favor of Prop 8 and it won. Now all the gay and lesbian people are crying because they lost. Now with this sorry ass Federal Judge banishing Prop 8, that tells us one thing, THE PEOPLES DECISION DOES NOT MATTER. That is what pisses me off because if Prop 8 had failed, the ones in favor would have protested that too and if it had been overturned, I would have been just as upset with the system because voting is for the people and not the courts.

There are only 50 states, and 30 of them have constitutional amendments protecting marriage's definition. About 6 states either allow SSM or recognize those of other states. The remainder have statutes protecting marriage. Oh, and that guy you elected president? He's for marriage being 1 man 1 woman too. So it really is our side that is winning in all of this.
This isn't about civil rights and this isn't about you. It's about preserving a centuries old tradition that has brought us this far.

Be certain that the court will not overturn the amendment. At worst all they will do is ignore it and say that the "marriages" that took place when they were allowed are still considered valid, but none after the date of enactment will be.

What other countries do don't mean stink to me. Other countries allow polygamist, child/adult, and even human/animal "marriage". So stick same-sex "marriage" with the rest of that phony balogna.
Some of the states you mention only allow civil unions. Others only recognize out of state "marriages". The only states where it is allowed are CT, IA, MA, ME, and VT. Those people are probably stuck with it and will just have to wait for the federal marriage amendment.

Not trying to offend, but hey, we all have opinions...here are mine; homosexuality is a perversion of real sex. Sex, by definition, requires a male and a female. Think about it, whenever sex happens someone is playing the role of the male and someone is playing the role of the female.
The reality is that homosexuals (especially males) are typically victims of sexual assault. As such they need help and care, not hatred. But pretending that their lifestyle is healthy is not loving them.

It's because marriage provides over 1,000 separate rights which gay people do not have. It is unconstitutional to deny one group of people rights that another group is given. This amounts to SPECIAL rights for heterosexuals.
And marriage isn't the only injustice. In many states, you can be kicked out of a business/store just because you're gay, you can be evicted from your home simply because the landlord finds out you're gay, you can be fired from a job just for being gay, etc., etc.

i think its wrong and disgusting. i dont have anything aginst gays unless it directly involves me. but:
1: its not natural, god did not creat gay people.
2: two people of the same sex were not meant to marry.

It's totally natural. Homosexuality in animals proves it. God DID create gay people, always has, always will. Denying equal rights (including marriage) to gay people is wrong immoral & unamerican, just as it was to deny equal rights due to skin color. Gay sex is no more sinful than str8 sex.

Read the book "Biological Exuberance" by Bruce Bagemihl, Ph.D. (very thick book). His research (among others) shows homosexuality among animals & insects is perfectly normal.
Also just do a search for "animal homosexuality" & "insect homosexuality" here on Youtube. There are more vids proving animal/insect homosexuality here than you can imagine. So it's not some crazy theory, it's very well proven & documented.

The problem is that gays will be allowed to marry eventualy because people are turning imoral and eventualy something worse will get passed like a man being allowed to have 2 wifes. For example polygamists are fighting to be allowed to hgave multiply wifes in canada using teh argument that gays are allowed to get married why not us.

No, gays will be allowed to marry eventually not because society is "turning immoral," but because society is beginning to understand that being gay is normal, and denying equal rights to an entire group of people based on something they're born with is wrong, immoral, unethical, and unamerican.
We already fought the polygamist battle back when Utah became a state (did you not read your history in high school??). That issue was decided a century and a half ago.

Canada isn't the U.S., & polygamists' trying to pass marriage there just because gay people were granted equal marriage rights has no bearing on US law. We cannot allow religious wackos to dictate civil law. Even if Canada allows marriage to a tuna fish, thats no reason why hets should be allowed special rights here, so polygamy will not become legal here. In order for a right to be inalienable, that would mean the right would have had to preexist the state. The right to life liberty preexisted the existence of the United States, because God gave those rights. States don't give inalienable rights, God does, and God did not give gays the right to be gay let alone to get married. Our inalienable rights can be found (don't read this you will freak) IN THE BIBLE!

Denied equal rights? No one is being denied. The law on marriage is between a man and woman, which applies to everyone! Meaning even straight people can't marry with the same sex. Which changes the argument to, let homosexuals live their way of life and be happy. So if we are denying people to marry the same sex, we are taking away their happiness and it is wrong. Then I guess denying a person who finds happiness in being nude in public is wrong as well. I mean, who cares about other people.

If straight people do it too, then it obviously isn't just a homosexual thing. There are lots of perversed ways of having sex, for all orientations, as vaginal sex is the correct form of it. Either way, you're saying they shouldn't marry because of what they do in bed? Not all of them have anal sex. They marry because they LOVE EACH OTHER. now if you're religious, it's a sin anyway to pass judgement, which you are doing.
