the best way to get the cart up the final elevator thing is to go spy, dead ringer. Have it out as you rising and then if you get sniped or something you just uncloak, the thr DR recharges fast because of the ammo from the cart and you can have it out again

I am trying to raise awareness of a new sub-class I like to call the Gunslinger. (Primary: Degreaser) (Secondary: Reserve Shooter) (Melee: Axtinguisher) The Degreaser and the Reserve shooter decrease the weapon change time. And the Axtinguisher makes it so when you light them on fire, you deal critical hits with it. Just another sub-class.

@martjegub The Detonator has the ability to "detonate" the flare pretty much any time after it's fired, while the flare gun can't BUT the flare gun does provide and instant 90 hit crit to opponents on fire.

i love your vids, your voice and your gameplays but i think its not so good when u tell what is going to happen in a few secs. thats really disturbing and takes out the surprise. i noticed that u often do that in awesome moments. if i dont except it this moment is much more awesome for me instead of when u tell me there is going to be something awesome. maybe i except too much then. this is how i feel, hope i can help

Jerma I suggest equipping the homewrecker since u dont use melee. At least help engis with them sappers!:D or you could try the backscratcher since that helps u when picking up health packs

Amazing display of Flare Gun tactics. Great for Scouts, Spies, Snipers, and, well, everyone else...except one class...

You should've noted here that since Pyros can't afterburn (common-enough knowledge), Flare Gun shots will never crit them (same with the Detonator and mini-crits). That's the only reason, besides the Degreaser's Compression Blast + Reserve Shooter trick, to not use a flare-type secondary or to bust out your melee. Pyro VS Pyro is a test of wits if you have to directly attack...

I just played Pyro yesterday with Degreaser, Flare gun, Powerjack and i owned whole server with it. :) Powerjack is great weapon if you dont want to use Axtinguisher of Postal Pummeler because it is just pocket medic and it can overheals you. Not many players are trying to kill you with meele. Also Back Scratcher is very good too.

2:15 Jerma you say they equal up but you have to remember that in the long run you can shoot 4 flares as fast #1 as full shotgun clip and reload it again #2.

#1(7.5 seconds= 90x4 + 3/.5s AB = 405 dmg)

#2(7.5 seconds= ((base)60x6=360), ((50%falloff)30x6=180), ((150%rampup)90x6=540) < All WITHOUT bullet spread assuming that 100% of the pellets hit.)

And if you think that flaregun is worse cause its damage is less than shotty, you have to remember, it has same dmg with ANY range.

Also the velocity of flaregun's projectile is 1450 Hammer units which is almost 10% more than loch and load's grenade velocity (1331) and almost 10% less than Liberty launcher (1540). So by any means it's not slow travel time. And like i said it is a projectile so it uses projectile hitboxes and not true hitboxes like hitscan weapons (shotty).

I mostly agree with opinions on shotgun vs flareguns, but sometimes the fast-firing 6 rounds are a more reliable way of gunning down heavier classes. I don't like reserve shooter though.

And why don't you use the axtinguisher or powerjack? They allow you to slaughter power classes or pick up a life-saving 75 hp in quite a few situations.

@juzzi2118 Only thing that Shotty has over flaregun is the fact that it damages other pyros better than flaregun. You can just snipe heavy from very long range with flaregun. Also to kill the powerclasses (I assume you mean Soldier, Demo, Heavy) close up, light on fire+axtinguisher works best w/ Heavy, but with Soldier and Demo, Lighting them on fire + Airblast + Flares is the most reliable way. But in the end the best way to fend off Demo and Solly is justbgood Airblast usage.

Fantastic video. I've never been much for the shotgun, but have been having too much fun with the reserve shooter to give it up. Lately though, I've been trying to use the flare gun. It's so much fun and really good if you know how to use it. I'm still quite bad at lining up the shots, but it really feels like a better option to the shotguns most of the time if you get good with it. Though compared to the shotguns the learning curve is a bit steeper.

@Jerma985 It's not if you know how to do it. You'd probably seen some rocket jumping videos where people strafe in crazy zigzag patterns. The airblast is basically a mini-rocket jump if you use it right. Though not a lot of people know precisely how to do it, and even if they do it's hard to react in time to pull it off.

@Jerma985 You'd be surprised! If you start air strafing immediately and turn into the direction you went flying you can increase your momentum by quite a bit. The same technique can be used for some pretty monster rocket jumps.

Great video Jerma! I'm used to not even remember that I have a secondary as a Pyro, because I need to have the Postal Pummeler on Quick swish to get crit kills. In fact i am obsessed by the reserve shooter. I think it's most reliable one I will try to explain. First you can crit other pyros. Second faster switching. And the guys that will tell me that the shotgun is better 'cause it has 6 shots instead of 3 If you can kill anyone with 3 shots you are on spray and pray mod and you probably won't kill them with the other 3. To finish it I ues it on the soldier, because of the faster switch, the crits and don't have a problem with the less shots.

@AviarPlus flaregun is much better because reserve shooter generally does less damage even if you are close to the target but for flaregun the damage is the same regardless of range. reserve shooter does not crit it minicrits which is about 35% more damage. The dps for regular shotgun is higher than reserve shooter because of the -50% clip size. It takes more than three shots to kill soldiers in medium range ( average 45.5 dmg per shot.) and my last point is that none is ugc uses reserve shooter

The faster weapon switch is a big think for me it has saved me many times as the soldier. For the pyro case i have very good aim with shotgun and when i blow someone it's a something like 90 to 140 dmg. And as i said it's good for killing pyros. As of ugc when I was taking part in it it was only vanilla, don't know what is it.
