I don't like Bolton, but begrudgingly I agree with his assessment of how this action will play out in Poland and among former soviet bloc countries. The current administration must also be aware of this and hopefully they have been making calls to ensure this perception is dispelled quickly.

This missile defense tech has never worked. In fact that is why we initially started the program-- because it did not work. We wanted a monstrously expensive project that would break the USSR's bank during the Reagan administration & it worked. Further development of this project is simply paying system developers to do nothing.

The missle "shield" has always been utterly ridiculous and a constant failure. The only workable test was under the Israeli technology, but that would mean further aid and money to Israel, which they don't need.

If you want a shield, have diplomacy. Russia doesn't seem to be in the means of starting a war.
