yes your right. i have 2 crt projectors, one i am selling on ebay with new screen.
2030qm i am selling. the one i use is a 720p/1080i ecp4500. beautifull picture with no video noise. looks like the cinema. I play the imax prologue sequence in hd from the dark knight. its on batman begins bluary extras.
Digitals are impressive in regards to ansi values. basically light reflected back to viewer. but the absolute on/off values aren't close.
i suggest for under a thousand you look at a excellent condition crt projector. You'll get much longer life span with 10x contrast, 10x lifespan, higher colour palette, absolute black. and more.
Crt is bright but its more like a laser it doesn't thow much light. if lightoutput is really important then maybe a digital but a good crt quite bright.
I agree a good HD crt projector looks better though if It's a 3 crt system, Most all of the good ones are. Then they are usually only practical for a permanent installation because you have to carefully adjust them each time you set them up. Convergence etc.
It's just a much higher quality version of the youtube video. Search google for "Rapidshare Resident Evil" & you should find a few good sites hosting links to download the movie ;-)
Just an update if anyone cares... I just got myself one of these projectors and the picture is awesome for the price. its got awesome detail. im very happy with it.
720p 1280x720 native, If you search google with "ph530 720p" You can find some data sheets on this projector. If you click on more info where it says about this video, I have listed a few of it's key features resolution contrast etc.
I would be very thankful if you could post a video showing standard DVD via component, or HD/BluRay DVD via HDMI because I would hook it to my DVD or Xbox 360.
hey is it possible to have SOME ambient light with this? The price is awesome, decent stats, and the bulb replacement costs are fairly cheap considering the other models.
This to me would seem to be a fantastic starter projector.
Yea, depending on screen size of course. On my 80" a little bit of room light or ambient light from closed blinds does not affect the picture too bad.
how does standard DVD's look? Im deciding between the benq w100 or this, they are the exact same price in Australia. My only source will be standard dvd's. Does it seem to upscale standard dvds to 720p well??
Standard Dvd's look great, In my experience it seems to look a little better if you have the dvd player do the upscaling, Or in my case a PS3 playing the dvd's & doing the upscaling.
Blu-ray & HD-DVD movies also look great & thats coming from someone who is very picky about video quality. The color seems to look best on the "Bright" preset. I researched online reading reviews for about 9 hours before I chose this & from what I've read it's pretty much the best you can get for that price & looks better then some of the $1000.00 competing projectors because of the 7-segment color technology.
It looks much better then the video I put up here, I just grabbed my camera real quick to shoot this, I have played both my PS3 & Xbox 360 on this & they look great at 84 inches. Rainbow effect really isn't noticeable with the 4x colorwheel.

Thanks, but what I mean is:
What's the resolution of the video you are playing?
the source is the PC, right?
Xochimique 4 years ago
In this video I am playing 720p Quicktime trailer & the pc is outputting 1280x720 which is the resolution of the Quicktime file.
