Muscle Cars are the only thing that was good back in day.... that's why the car companies can't make anything else. The new challenger, mustang, and camaro are trying to get that look of muscles cars back. Muscle cars were big, loud, unstable, unsafe, and gas hogs. Wouldn't u rather have 4-banger with 500+hp that pull 0-60 in 3sec? The new challenger, pull 0-60 in 5.7sec.. The Camaro has been tried to be on the market for yrs, and Mustang is nothing without the help of Roush, Shelby, or SVT.

Actually they can make something else but retro is in style nowadays. And you mention a 4 banger with 500 hp then start saying a STOCK american car is shit compared to that.. well first of all there is no such thing as a STOCK 4 banger 500hp and 3 sec.. and obviously mustang cant do shit without shelby cus they give it a supercharger, you think that 4 banger could ever do shit without its turbo either?

if they wanted to they probably could have. it's just the Domestic Market wouldn't allow them to. Same thing goes with the MPG..if the government allowed them to. the japanese probably can get over 60MPG on regular gasoline....but then the Big Three would be done...and no body wants that..right?..lol if toyota was allowed they could buy out GM right now....and Chrysler hasn't been good since they left mercedes...and nobody wants to buy it anyways...
