Thanks for posting this song. My Seven And The Ragged Tiger record was played so much that the quality isn't good anymore. Now that I found these songs on the net, I won't have to buy the cd.
I was reading a 1984 interview with Duran Duran and Simon LeBon was asked this: Q: "What about the song 'Union of the Snake'?
A: "I'll tell ya. The union of the snake is the union of the snake and the man. The snake symbolizes a kind of subconscious power force or strength, and the song is really about the fears of the subconscious mind breaking through to the conscious mind."
The Union of the Snake is a metaphor for the shadow world government that is "on the climb" or effectively consolidating it's power. It's gonna break through the borderline means it will erase all borders. I'm afraid to say it but DD is part of the Illluminist Conspiracy. They've been conditioning us since 1982. Ah well...come on NWO! Will ya just bring it on already. We can't wait till 2012. XD
Interesting thought. I always thought that if the cultural elite wanted to hypnotize children to accepting a certain line of thinking, movies and music be the best way to get that accomplished.
This video always did remind me of the hidden world of the occult. Snakes are a symbol of wisdom (union of the snake =the union of this reality with that of the hidden world of the occult). Still, I guess one would have to ask the songwriter what he meant.
Telegram force and ready I knew this was a big mistake Theres a fine line drawing My senses together And I think its about to break. If I listen close I can hear them singers Voices in your body coming through on the radio. The Union of the Snake is on the climb Moving up its gonna race its gonna break Through the borderline. Nightshades on a warning Give me strength at least give me a light Give me anything even sympathy Theres a chance you could be right

This was in heavy rotation on NBC`s "Friday Night Videos" in 84` and it`s what made me pay more attention to Duran Duran. They were as big as The Beatles briefly in 85`.

If you take a good look at 2:03, you'll notice that the tall girl leading the smaller kids is none other than Jennifer Connelly.
