Guys, stop calling it fake. It is a magic trick, and the whole point is that it is fake, however it is faked in a clever way that is difficult to observe. Do you really think he would do this by probability? I'm sure he's done this trick more than once. If he has, and it wasn't fake, he'd likely have a severely injured hand by now.

@HANK0000 Thank you for the point. Obviously the trick is "fake" in a sense that the magician has a knowhow of doing the trick, but such knowhow requires the magician's trick, practice, charisma and confidence to pull it off.

i have seen this once in television when the trick failed.

the people that knew where the nail was went poker-face and tried to not give away the information, and the stage magician rammed the nail through his hand. it was a different magician. this trick is being done so often because its so simple and spectacular, and if they occasionally ram knifes or nails through their hand that probarbly just makes the trick even more interesting.
