  • i live in colorado springs and wow that place has sides straight down. Looked like they slid off in the right spot.LUCKY!!

  • I was very happy to see a (what appeared to be ) weighted winch line for safety purpose a snapped line under stress is a head remover, If so very impressive. I watch a lot of 4x4 vids this is the first I have seen with a weighted line.

    Thanks,Rob from Canada

  • excelent rescue !!!!!

  • Damn... Poor runner. Oh well! She still runnin even after all that!

  • what a sound of that jeep

  • I had a fourth generation 4Runner and it was BAD ASS!

  • w00t! That's Toyota. Still runs even after having it's engine smashed.

  • jeep=2

  • unibody (jeep) = 0

    body on frame (4runner) = 1

Jeep (electronic limited slip) = 0

    4Runner (Rear lockers) = 1

  • ok

first that jeep is not a unibody. if it was it would crumbple with the weight of the winch pulling on it

second that dumb 4runner is off in bFE tree line down tha hill

lastly, i guarentee that jeep has a locker in it. i have a wrangler and i got a locker put in it

    hush yo face

  • @sonny7863

No it would'nt ...I had a 95 ZJ with HS 9500 on an ARB bull bar It did no such thing ,but then again I also hear a v8 will twist an XJ cherokee in 2 ,but yet the 360 with 345lb/ft came in the 98 ZJ grand cherokee and has no stronger unibody and is designed the same as the ZJ ...And my XJ on 39.5 boggers sporting built 60/14 is doing fine holding them ...Old CJ'S have weak frames that crack easier than new unibodys ,but my unrails have ar500 on them now and will add a cage .

  • hahaha TOYOTA FTW jeeps are for chicks and people that never use 4wd

  • 4Runner= 1

    Tree = 0

  • look at the dumb ass as 00:48 not a safe place to be

  • THAT CJ7 LOOKS GREAT

  • and btw to the jeep owner thats a great way to tweak your frame.

  • this happened to my uncle once. but he hit a peice of firewood in the road in 3 feet of snow and broke his tie rods his jimmy went for a ride thru a couple trees. =]:

  • thats what you get for driving like an idiot.Wasnt even no snow on the road

  • this looks like a promotional video for WARN

  • that CJ sounds amazing

  • same thing happend to my buddy in his blazer but my jeep didnt go up in the air like that cause i had everyone get in my jeep and had some people stand on the back bumper

  • nice rescue

    !!!

    4x4 doesn't mean go anywhere...

    silly yuppies

  • WARN winch needs this footage....... That would be a hell of a commercial

  • It cuts the cost of a towing...Excellent job...

  • Amazing stuff! That looked pretty scary to me for a while. I DID see the back of the Jeep hooked up to something, right?

  • nice work man nice

  • OOOW year NICE 1

  • Wicked job indeed, could have had taken lives by the looks of it!!! Superb video and a hell of a way to make new friends! There's just one thing I hate about 4runrs, they're too expensive on the used market.

  • So right dude, but i act got a steal on a 97 limited 4x4 with 68,000 mile for 4500. It was sitting for 5 years in storage. got it in feb. 3 and already put 2500miles on her and not a single problem it great. before when i was looking i could not find one 96-98 that was below 6500 and less than 150,000miles but i got the bargain of a lifetime

  • Bask in the glory my man of having found a cheap and steady one. My bro drove 4 years on a split 22re engine block, the bitch would not die. They're made like farm equipment! I've got a Sorento now, it doesn't pale in comparison, it just doesn't feel as Back-country-don't-care-where-you-drive-me-I'll-bring-you-back kinda deal, know what I mean?

  • @Bygsach lol i hear you. i beat the fuck out of my yota and finally tried to kill it by puttin a brick on the gas pedal in nuetral. 2 hours later all i lost was the rod bearings and it was starting to overheat. toyotas are tough as shit.

  • "The pucker marks in the driver's seat will probably be permanent, though" LMAO

What size Warn winch was that?

  • It was a brand-new 9000-lbs winch. The owner had his old one stolen while he was in Iraq, and was happy to put the new one to good use. He wasn't phased at all by the oil leak, it was going to give him something to do. I don't know about the hydraulic wich. Once they started pulling, I wasn't going to go back to the other side to see how the Chevy was doing, and you couldn't see the 4runner from there.

  • Was the 4runner a 2wd? and how did he run off the road?

  • 4wd 4runner. The road was very slick mud, ice, and snowpack, and her tires were new, but not very good on this surface.

  • @wilburhamz haha woman driver....no wonder

  • Welllll, Warn helped.. and melted. The other wench was hydraulic. Funny, when it started right up and assisted with backing up; everyone was willing to buy a 4Runner. I drove it down, and it was tracking straight, just making a lot of noise on left turns..

  • ...should probably mention that paultalb didn't know the driver before the 4runner went over the edge. He just drove it to the paved road.

  • how much do u think that brushguard helped? Are they pretty strong, or just for looks?

  • It didn't prevent any damage, the tree hit to the right of the support. But who knows, maybe it saved the frame.

  • well I suppose it didn't hurt. It looks great btw. So, do you still have the 4Runner or did it cost to much to fix?

  • Awesome job. The Warn did the job.
