I'M WITH HSHAWN00. WHY PUT DOWN THE OTHERS TO GLORIFY ONE. BEVERLEE MCKINSEY ANDKIM ZIMMER WERE GREAT IN MY BOOK AND EVEN THOUGH I DON;T LIKE INDIA VON HALKEIN I DO RESPECT MARY KAY ADAMS FOR HER PORTRAYAL OF THE PART. THEY WERE ALL STRONG WOMEN SUBJECT TO THE WRITERS DISCRETION AS TO WHO WOULD COME OUT ON TOP IN ANY GIVEN SITUATION. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE BEVERLEE MAY SHE REST IN PEACE AND KIM OVER THE REST BUT I RESPECT MARY KAY FOR HER TALENT AS WELL
the last years when GL was great........ mostly due to the women.... Reva, India, Alexandra, Claire, Miss Sally, Maeve, Maureen....... those were the days...
I love this scene. Perfect catfight. I was too young to appreciate India's bitchiness when this first aired. I really respect Mary Kay Adams' talents now. KZ's flawless as usual.
Hate to disagree but no one was able to surpass Beverlee McKinsey , Beverlee was elegance and class, Mary Kay Adams and Zimmer had to fight and claw there way to sometime class but only at certain times.
@freesafetynumber2 What fucking bullshit. Zimmer and Adams were extremely good actresses, and yes, in the same league of Beverlee McKinsey. Kim and Mary Kay, at least, had some other work on their resume, the kind that demonstrated something McKinsey didn't. It's called range. Both of them demonstrated the ability to portray much different characters than the ones we see here.
Have the decency not to display your bad taste and ignorance for the entire world to see. It's pathetic.
@freesafetynumber2 Hate to disagree but they were all great actresses. Why put one down to fancy the other? You are certainly intitled to your own opinion but they were all three grand class acts and I think their longevity in the business proves that.
Mary Kay Adams held her own, but all you gotta do is look at that "Oh hell no you don't!" expression on Zimmer's face and you just *KNOW* that Reva's gonna come out on top!
A virtuoso performance by Mary Kay Adams who played India...one of the greatest bitches ever! She always held her own against the likes of Beverlee McKinsey and Kim Zimmer.
Mary Kay Adams is truly the unheralded genius of Guiding Light. This is a woman who went up against Beverlee McKinsey on a regular basis, as well as Zimmer here, and NEVER let them steal the scene.
Actually India (and MK Adams) weren't the first one to call some other woman a version of "a low born gutter slut". (Not to knock Adams acting any). But a slight variation of that insult was given to Diane Ballard (Alan's long time office assistant/slash before that Philip's original nanny/ slash Alan's mistress) by Carrie Mowry's 2nd version of Jackie Marler & then Henry Chamberlain back in August/September 1981 shortly before Diane was murdered. Jackie & Henry called Diane a
"low born gutter snipe". Jackie also called Diane a "vindictive bitch" & Henry called her something like an "uppity vamp" (can't remember the exact words, since it was shown in flashbacks to the night Diane was murdered). Of course, I was one that always thought it might have been interesting if one of the writers of the show had brought back Sofia Landon as Diane's twin to cause some romantic & business difficulty for Alan (It would have had to be before Annie entered his life, though).
I love India......GREAT scene with Adams and Zimmer!!!! You are a doll for posting!!!! (I like how you are labeling the clips with what the scene is about, thanks!)
