This would be an interplanetary mission - a mission between planets. Inter solar mission has to be a mission between different solar systems or between different suns.

Mission control would be useless because even at closest approach to earth all rountrip communications would take just over 4 minutes, if they were crazy enough to do it with venus farthest away, the communications that aren't blocked by the sun would take almost 30 minutes to complete, all the instant decisions would have to be done by them, on their own.
