We lived in London at this same time and used to go to Harrods at lunch (our school was close by) to see the "zoo". They had Ardvarrks, Armadillos, Wooly monkeys, snakes and other exotic animals, but this great story eluded me. Thanks for posting.

Both guys saw Christian twice and then John saw him one more time without Ace. I think in the interview, John said it was 1974. THAT was the last time for John. Ace had already seen him the last time, with John at the second reunion. Geez, those guys were SOOOO incredibly lucky! What an outstanding, loving, beautiful story this is. I'm drawn to it and I can't stop crying.

Wow, are you lucky! I can't even imagine. What an experience that must have been. Ace and John sure did a magificent thing for Christian, to set him free in Africa. They had to have been remarkable for a lion to show complete and unhesitant trust as it did in the reunion. i'm judging that christian was never mistreated in any way.

Reading the book and watching the DVD is the most incredible story I've EVER read or watched in my life. Christian was truly the MOST MAGNIFICENT LION, EVER. I have fallen in love with a lion. Incredible story!
