As far as I understood it, it appears to be a synth that parses MIDI and lyric input together, to synthesize singing. I have seen another video where someone used Hiragana input for his song... though I don't know if it can also deal with latin letters.

the novation xio synth is a great starter synth. not the best keybed quality but tons of sounds and editing tools! Cheap too. defenetly recommend it. ;)

this is a VST synth... aka Virtual Studio Technology, which means its software... these days alot of people are using a combination of virtual synths and analog (hardware) synths. I reccomend lookin into FL studio if your new to music production

Well, quite simple really, he may very well be running windows on a Apple computer -- You know, Boot Camp. But since it's VST it might work in Cubase on Mac.

If he's on a mac he must be running boot camp or similar, the fileformat is .dll which will not run in any mac os whether in cubase or anything else, I'm not sure if there is something to convert it though, like you can convert au to vst and vice versa, would be nice to have a dabble with it.

the keyboard on top is a Novation midi controller, IDK what model it exactly is....i have no idea about the keyboard on bottom xDDDD...

after having a few days to look around I believe the bottom one is a NanoKEY although I could be mistaken because the keys look much more raised than on the NanoKEY models I've seen

After experiencing VirSyn Cantor and Vocoloid Lola, I gotta say this Aquestone is one briliant device! The drawbacks are the .KOE extension, and sadly no english version as of yet (nice english PDF though) Definately is what I was hoping SAM or Speakonia would be able to do someday without having to go through Melodyne or AutoTune. Absoultely brilliant!

And really like the song too. Made me think a bit of MBV - but then I'm old. LOL

I found a simple way to create your own .koe files for changing the defaulted kokonikasifairuodoropu vocal sound that's in AquesTone. Just make a new notepad text file document and within it, make up your own text vowel sound. For example, something like aaeeoouhh After that, just save the text file to whatever name you want along with changing the file extension from .txt to .koe

After you do that, you can open it up in the AquesTone and play your new vocal sound.
