PearPC is a program for Windows and Linux that allows one to run Mac OS X under an emulator. Keep in mind that it was written and maintained before the Intel transition, which is why an emulator was necessary, as opposed to a virtualization program such as VMware Player.
Ehh, just USING one of these machines booted on OS X is a violation of Apple's EULA. Bah, probably wont get in trouble for it; Apple Legal has much larger issues on their hands.
Apple is for children and the elderly. Even when they build an 8-core machine (Intel's Skulltrail) no single software application can evenly scale the cores anyways, so it's pointless. Most of the guts of an apple are made of PC parts now. Apple has a great advert team and engineers the best 'box' to hold its PC parts in. Should you pay an xtra $500-1500 for this 'box'? That's a personal decision, much like paying $6000 for oversized rims that spin inside your tires. " They spinnin' *****!"
Ok, CrewRite, you got it all wrong. Intel Xeon Nehalem beats the crap out of i7. It is 4-5x faster and is one of the best processors out there. AND, the Mac Pro you selected is 8-Core, not Quad-Core, so you have to compare this Psystar to the Quad-Core Mac Pro, not 8.
Lol, your an idiot. The customer who purchases it has done nothing wrong. The apple EULA says "you cannot install OSX on a non apple labeled computer, or enable others to do so". Please tell me how you see the customer buying the computer the one who's at fault here?
Oh I can afford one, believe me. In fact, I am going to buy a macbook in a year or two. Whilst Apple do make ingenius innovations (mostly with just notebooks), they still overcharge immensely for what you're getting. Why would I spend £1500 on a machine that is just as fast as the one I have now? Why?
And of course Apple take much more time with their components! All of theirs' are hand-picked and are of utmost quality....
Grow up, kid. All manufacturers use cheap-ass chips to reduce cost; it's called the real world. The only thing Apple does differently is add an EFI chip and put it in a shiny case to fool imbeciles (such as yourself?).
hand picked ? ah yes right , because they use "DIFFERENT" intel and nvidia cocmponants ? fail apple hardware is low = medicore , its all OEM brand , same as dell , packard bell , acer , etc etc
@LessthanJake14 ha, utmost quality? more like out of date, overpriced components which only have good drivers, but even still, theyre nothing compared to what's out there in the Windows world
@SilentMystification Yep, you're completely right...hence why I said "all manufacturers (by which I mean Dell, HP, Apple etc.) use the same cheap-ass chips".
How the hell do you spend $2000 IN a Mac? Did he put 20 hundred dollar bills on his motherboard? No. So STFU, fix your grammar, and stop talking shit about Macs. If you don't like Macs, fine, but don't talk shit about it.
Hey, I own a Mac Quicksilver, and I talk shit about them if I want to... The PRAM is the worst invention since "sugarless chocolate". Google: G4 Quicksilver PRAM Won't boot...
Let's see, the Mac Pro G5 costs from 2500$ to 6000$ with maximum RAM...
Yes, the PRAM is a crappy idea, but you said nothing about that in your comment. You said "That's because you spent 2000$ in a MAC and that bitches you off". This has nothing to do with the PRAM and is just spam.
yes, thats the problem with it though. also, you void your warranty if you do this so if something happens your screwed. so bottomline, dont do it. lol
Are you saying that brand-name computers have a warranty that can be voided by installing another OS? If I want to buy a Dell and then install Ubuntu Linux on it, I should be able to do so without voiding the warranty.
I think the idea behind Psystar's OpenPro computer is that it can run practically any OS on the market, with all the hardware fully functional in each OS (it has the right hardware for OS X if you want to use it).
icarly they use pear pc a Pear PC is the Mac OS running on a standard PC
Google "Pear PC" , "OS86", and Hackintosh ...
A Pear PC is a hacked computer...
I would rather use Linux Ubuntu or Linux Mint or one of the 1,000 of free distributions ... but that's just me.

have you not heard about all the law suits these last couple years, apple filed an almost 3 million dollar claim against psystar.

That's part of the "larger issues" that Apple Legal has(had) on their hands, versus the small cases of individual people USING Psystar computers.

ah, i see, i didnt read the statement clearly, my mistake.

lol, yeah, like Apple is gonna find everyone who brought Psystar's machine and sue every single one of them until they file for bankruptcy.
