For Savage to say he killed the Green Lantern, claiming GL was the hardest to kill is not likely. Lantern (John Stewart) is really impossible to defeat let alone kill. Will power fulls the ring, plus the Lanterns heal faster than the Hulk and he heals before your eyes. You might break a Lanterns will, as Despero did altering his mind, or when their battery power is low you could banish them to another dimension. But to lay claims to killing a lantern is inaccure.

Superman pointed out that he could travel to past because he was already "dead" (since he "died" in the past, there's no past self to find and no risks)
