I came back to this room once after I met her the first time, I had the volume up reasonably loud for how late at night it was and...yeah. She fell again, she screamed again, I got scared again.

@Soki7000 Yeah! It happened totally the same to me. I got used to that these ghost battles aren't that random as in J-RPGs, so when a ghost is coming usually you get to know it in time. At first there's the cutscene when Mio walks down. Or at other times you see the red ligth before the ghost appears. So I was unavare and run through the room again and Ahh! That ghost just fell out of nowhere, screaming me to almost shit my pants! Since then go on the longer ways to skip that room :)

@SparrowHeart1 Well,as seen here,she falls,and sneers at you mid-fall.In battle,she basically crawls around on her back with her broken legs(and possibly arms).When she lunges up to grab you,that's the best time to get a Fatal Frame.After you inflict massive damage shots,she'll disappear,and fall right next to you,which is the single most creepy thing to ever happen in this game.

Pretty much. From what I read, she was running in vain to try to escape the cataclysm that was wiping out the village. She accidentally ran through the guard rail, and fell to her death. No matter how many times I hear her slam into the floor it makes me cringe.
