Replacing the Xclamp worked for me. I could play it with the case off. Once I put the case back on and all the screws back in it wouldn't work so I had to take it apart and put it back together without the really long screws. They were torquing on my board. I have been playing for more than 2 months now without a problem

Towel Trick actually causes more damage. You will find eventually you will get the rrod again, the more you do the towel trick, the harder it will get to do, and then eventually you will completly ruin your 360, and not even be able to repair it this way.

The towel trick tears the pads under the gpu and also stresses the cpu, and the rrod has nothing to do with the cpu. Your basically putting your 360 in prison soon to be slaugtered. have fun!

If you guys don't want to but a repair kit, there are other youtubes that will better show you what to do. AND you can get the thermo paste at Radio shack.... it's like 10 bucks. take it apart do what they tell you to do and be done with it.. better than another 300 on a new 360 or 140 for microsoft to repair it. I had an Elite, a reg one and a Halo version.. same thing happened, I finally got smart and decided to fix it myself.
