Folks, downtown Toronto was never designed decades ago to accomodate so many vehicles. Also the current layout of a traffic lane will not support vehicles and bikes together unless a bike lane is implemeted.

Couriers are agressive cause they are jacked up on testosterone. Drivers are agressive cause they feel secure and superior in their cars. Mixed with the frustration of traffic this is a recipe for altercation. I remember chucking my bike at cars when I got hit as a courier cause I was pissed, but I seldom held a grudge cause it was always an accident. Bryant gunned this dude down, and that makes him a deplorable bastard who needs to suffer badly himself. Nor quarter is what I hope he gets.

Well use the lanes in the roads (not the wrong sides and directions) and not the sidewalks (for pedestrians). You complain that cars are in your way? HUH???

Darcy Sheppard's death is a complete tragedy.

I hope that it can be used to educate drivers AND cyclists.

RIP Mr. Sheppard and my condolences to all who knew him.

I'm no fan of cyclists or pedestrians not obeying lights or signs. But as a pedestrian I've almost been hit countless times by cars going right of way. Way too many drivers don't know or care about signaling, about signs that say 'no turns', blocking intersections, or stopping behind the white line. Cars outweigh bikes and humans. Using them in a reckless manner is lethal, without question. Give cyclists a centre lane like the LRT, or get rid of cars downtown. RIP Darcy
