*sigh* Actually, no, he's called Tristran. The film just takes the r out because most people forget about the older forms of names.

In the book, he is called Tristran Thorn. In the film, the 'r' was dropped so to make the pronounciation of his name easier for scenes where the dialogue moved quickly.

If you pay close attention at the scene where Charlie Cox's character says 'Is it they know exactly how to annoy a boy called Tristan Thorn?' right before they see the 'The Wall 60 Miles' sign, he pronounces it as TristRan.

The book and the movie were sooo different! They were practically two different stories. But I liked them both. The book had more action and the movie had a better love story. But the book's ending was incredibly suckish, which makes the movie slightly better. Ha.

The captain and his gay attitudes weren´t in the book, there is nothing about them. One of the reasons why I don´t like the book.

sevencats is right!! It isn't just the same instruments, it's nearly the same tune! But so what... Such tunes are always used to create an athmosphere full of peace and love. The listeners ought to feel comfortly and such things...

It doesn't belittle the grandios music and the movie.
