  • I have never seen this film, infact it was shown on the BBC a couple of weeks back and im gutted that i missed it, is it worth a watch? it looks pretty unusual in these videos, right up my alley!

  • @scott2k44 Don't wait one more second and go watch it! You may like it or not, but is a movie nobody should miss.

  • @robertoricardoruben i watched it, it was amazing :D

  • ...love the movie love the soundtrack...good work on this, make more?...

  • my favorite song from Vangelis

  • "I dream't music....."

  • A little bit late, but this was used in 'The Final Cut' version of the film

  • Good edit!

  • Magic *

  • It might indeed have been too 'lovely' for the film, but as an extra like this video (really touching), it works.

  • The beautiful song didn't really fit the noir drama atmosphere I guess.

  • @YaBoyLeeroy Singing.

  • Thamk you corlakis for uploading this fantastic songs and beautiful images,it would have fitted perfectly in the movie.

  • Beautiful

  • The sand in the hourglass grows less and less, the droplets of water into the lake of time become slower and slower, time is catching up . . . .

  • soo great...

  • Superb job on this video! I love Vangelis, Sean Young, etc.

  • I THICK VANGELIS MADE BLADE RUNNER WITH HIS MUSIC

  • „A very difficult love...."

  • This was unused in the film but was on the soundtrack released years later. I would fall asleep to the CD on repeat. :D

  • thumbs up if Above & Beyond brought you here.

  • @saivert

    TATW 368 ;)

  • @saivert

    Yup.

  • @saivert What brought me here is Vangelis Genius...

  • @saivert What is this Above & Beyond?

  • @saivert The Universe brought me here!

  • everything is a remix. this theme has most likely been sampled by a lot of artists and DJs over the years. vangelis was inspired by someone as well.

I don't understant the obsession about originality.

  • This is too beautiful...

    Can't understand how......

  • Simply Incredible.

Only just discovered this after hearing a new Trance remix of it.

This however is goosebump stuff :)

    Simply amazing

  • @wasi84 yea the andy moore remix is amazing tho, just heard it on tatw 368

  • Nicely Done. Thank you for posting 浪人

  • Vangelis it's simply the best composer

He knows how to make the perfect atmosphere in every single movie ha decide to make soundtrack

After Morricone but between him and Newton....so 2nd place

    Mitico Vangelis!!!!!!!

  • i think Vangelis made this for first Rachel...the wife of Jacob, cause the singer here seem to cry just like Rachel did when her children wore killed !

  • Thanks for making the great video to go with this beautiful music!

  • @corlackis Credit for vocals should read Mary Hopkin (no "s" at the end).

  • I love Rachel since i was 17 (1983)...

  • EINHORN IS A MAN!

  • @angeltosome

first of all, I LOVE this video, song, blade runner adn Rachel Green...

    but that is HILARIOUS!!!!!!

    I laughed out almost loudly:-)))))))))))))))))

  • Oh yeah. and I still haven't even seen Blade Runner. Weird right?

  • My name is Rachel and this song speaks me to me...there is a town outside Area 51 Nevada called Rachel on the interstellar highway 375 where there are only 98 residents... where do you think they work?

  • It's a beautiful & haunting piece but I think it would have been out of place in the movie. The majority of the music track was fairly neutral emotionally (which was a good thing, I think) whereas this is very sentimental. The use of the vocal is also much different than the rest of the score.

The simple piano solo Rachel plays in the movie was more effective, especially given the visuals it played over.

  • Haunting, sad and bautiful song....ethereal. The pathos is almost painful.

Three people who watch this.... were "not" replicants.

  • Gratulujem, fascinujúce....

  • Fascinujúca a ukludňujúca hudba....gratulujem

  • most amazing song that ever made in this world!!!!!!!!!

  • FSOL Dead Cities rip off?

  • @reuben81343 it's originally by Vangelis

  • @reuben81343

    Yeah, My Kingdom : )

  • Gueno, gueno....

  • Shivers.

    I have them.

  • buuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhh fuck you

  • Good job on your video tribute!

  • There's such a beautiful sadness behind her eyes.

  • One of those songs that is utterly unique, and gives ambient a good name. the synth at 2:23 is amazing.

I've amazingly never noticed this as vividly before, but Sean Young is mesmerising.

  • @baboon2525 It was of an era.

  • Very sensual symbolism through Sean Young liberating her hair , ready for love andthose crackers blowing up their fumes like an ejac ! + allusion to this tapestry in the middle ages coinciding with the singer piece : la dame à la licorne.

    Waouh !

  • Could somebody tell me what happened to the girl? I haven't watched it but I don't mind spoiling it myself

  • @flyingbeagles She escapes with Deckard. The End.

Original Cut: She escapes with Deckard; pans to vast mountain side road (possibly long past the city limits; maybe cross country) of them driving up north to Canada.

  • @flyingbeagles Your lost. You should see this Masterpiece in full instead.

  • @EnigmaEternity ok, i will just do that :P

  • here because of the film....VREME RAZDELNO???

  • Churruminonian what are you looking for? That's life sucker.

  • god , she's sooo beautiful

  • @blackicewr ikr! They couldn't have chosen better. She looks perfect like a doll yet different. Not your typical beauty. And this was before it was possible to digitally enhance the skin, eyes and other features to give that vague feeling of plastic (e.g. Surrogates). Thumbs up. I love this movie.

  • American women just look for money

  • You did an AMAZING editing job for this wonderful piece of music. Thanks.

  • shame that it was never used.

    thankyou for posting.

  • This was one of the best Sci-Fi Movies ever made for the year it was produced, this was the best

  • This song is tering me apart....... Dageroes song......

  • 0:00 - 4:32 = Best part

  • wow..

  • je l'ai vu au ciné quand j'étais môme, le film n'est pas terrible avec le recul et au vu des autres films de ford, mais bon sang cette BO n'a jamais été égalée

  • i felt so sorry for her, Fantastic movie One of the all time great visionary Sci/Fi Films

  • Beautiful montage w music. THANK YOU. I love this soundtrack.

  • Why didn't they use it?!? I know, I read the additional details, but still...it boggles my mind!

  • @TwilightFire

I'm not sure either as its such a great song.

  • @TwilightFire I've wondered alot about why this song was not used in the film... but after seeing a recent 1.1/2 hour documentary about the film, now I understand. It was a miracle that the film ever reached the big screen..it was meant to be a medium buget film..R. Scott went ove time for the film....which caused panic in the final scenes. They even tried to pull the plug and remove him at the end of shooting the film.

The final film was made on a shoe string buget compared to todays films.

  • @Kada2k6

Don't be silly, I had to check it myself to make sure I was right! You are right in saying that they have very impressive equipment and skill to create what they did with the original sample.

    Cheers

  • damn why do i gotta encounter the name rachel..... ._.; </3

  • Sean Young looked To Die For in this film, and the song does her justice.

  • I really enjoyed the music with the scenes... I also like Memories of Green and Psalmus Ode... The first two ones are TIMELESS, intemporales si queremos decirlo en español...

  • Ridley Scott thank you for this

  • perfect! Thanks!!!

  • I still cry when i listen to this song, when i watch this movie.

  • This is the song that comes to my mind when I visit an historical place or somewhere from a memory

  • timeless

  • Outstanding! I have the Blade Runner soundtrack and this is my favourite. It is so moving; this is what it is to be human (something we take for granted). I'm going to have this played at my funeral.

  • Such a sad and moving song... it affects me like nothing else I've heard. Rachael's situation in the film provides such a setting that no lyrics are necessary. Just beautiful.

  • Well done!

  • Soundtrack should have won an oscar

  • Greatest movie of all time.

  • @sajko7 Greatest soundtrack ever.

  • *Rutger Hauer*

    Proud to be Dutch !!!

  • Beautiful!!! .... I've seen this movie a million times, but I'll never get tired of this images, and you have arranged some in a most seducing and hypnotic way... especialy because Rachel's Song is not in the original film.

I'm an editor myself, and the one advise I'd give to you is that you replace the photograph at the end with some more movie clips, it slows the pace too much... Otherwise this montage is great, I loved it, putting the flames at the end was sweeeet!.... Congrats.

  • wow lol they made a techno remix of this lol, nice song though

  • Does somebody know more songs that sound like this? Soft, high vocal, no words used.

  • Beautiful and haunting music . Vangelis is a master artist. And an Awesome movie.

  • I was just wondering what kind of a person can dislike THIS...

  • For me, Graff is the key to the movie...also, the questions from the Voight-Kampff test are metaphors/subconscious meanings of the movie itself.

  • @doublemandala Gaff is using the replicant Deckard as his remote tool/weapon/proxy

  • I've often imagined this piece would have fit nicely in the Lord of the Rings, perhaps as an Elvish lament for the death of Eowyn.

  • If only you could see the things I've seen with your eyes.

  • ahhhh...bladerunner....great movie...part of my little family's culture (no kidding)....favorite line: sushi...that is what my ex-wife called me...cold fish!

  • Now, I haven't seen the film. But this totally made me want to see the film. I'd say you did an amazing job.

  • @Miiiista its a beautiful film and it will blow your freeking mind!

  • nice video, it really captures the spirit of the movie

  • Very good portrayal of the lack of deep emotional connections she experiences as a replicant. Check out The Future Sound of London for a more modern take on this song, it's called My Kingdom.

Several samples from this song are included in the FSOL song.

  • Thanx for this vid man...good job...

  • Amazing

  • Thanks, great work! I love video & music.

  • Future sound of london sampled this..if you like this listen to them.

  • I love it.

  • great video.. thanks for posting.

  • Great video, thanks!

A segment of this piece was used in the film, isn't that correct?

I think the ending was used as Roy decended in the elevator immediately after killing Tyrell.

  • Extraordinaria pieza, no la conocía...

  • Marvellous...

  • Awesome!

  • very cool

  • Yes, Corlakis, I sure enjoyed this piece ( I didn't know ). Thank you for sharing and the editing !

As Sci-fi passionate lover since childhood, Blade Runner holds a very special place in my heart.

The puzzling questions : " What's life? What's Love ? " " Does artificial life has rights ? Can there be Love with an artificial life form ? " Intricate questions in the search of our human meaning.

As of today the Rachel look ( Hair up ) it's the most fascinating to me.

Good long life to you !

  • Touching... GENIAL!!

  • 't Looks like Linda Evangelista, from 'the Library' episode from Doctor Who, was modelled after Rachel. :-)

Excellent music and fantastic movie as well. ;-) Thanks for uploading this.

  • It's too bad she won't live! But then again, who does?

  • @Hellblazer302 thats probably the most important line in the whole film.

  • @Hellblazer302 I love that phrase

  • Well Done corlackis! It's a lovely piece by Vangelis, haunting and evocative...and the imagery you chose were bang on! Mind, there aren't many images in this gorgeous movie that wouldn't suit beautiful ambient music! Again, BRAVO!

  • ethereal.. moving.. beauty-full.. omg!

  • one word: beautiful

  • There aren't many things anymore for a Greek like me to be proud of.Apart our history and the physical beauty of our country,it's nice to see that there are still many great Greeks and Vaggelis is definitely among them. His music inspired the electronica as a genre. This is by far the best soundtrack ever made!I 've been working for some time a video about a d&b tune, which is influenced by this movie and i just realize that it looks a lot with your video.Maybe i won't finish it.

  • Just brilliant. This song along with Blade Runner = great. Kudos goes to you for your time & effort put into this. I'm honestly not a big fan of Blade Runner but clips like this along with this beautiful song makes me want to pull it out of my DVD collection, sit down and watch it again. Great job! 5/5 on this.

  • Yaaayyyy makes me pround to be called rachel

  • magnifico!!!!!

  • ahhh so THIS is where Future sound of London got the sample from.

  • that was cool. and happy birthday to Sean Young!

  • sorry corlackis just read your info :)

  • do u all want me to tell u who it is doin the singing.Marry hopkins

  • so beautiful...I'm upset we almost never get anything like this these days

  • Vangelis restera définitivement comme l'un des plus grands compositeurs que le monde n'ait jamais connu

  • I think this song should have been used at the end of the movie. That sounds weird but think about it for a minute... I'm not a huge fan of the end music anyway, but having this beautiful, but ominous music playing while they're driving north would be really powerful.
