he just sounds like one of those fanatical christian people that have no idea what theyre talking about and practically blind themselves based on misleading info
I believe Don Hooton started out as any parent who's lost a child would - simply needing to blame something. So he decided to battle steroids as a way of coping. (Besides, as he's said, steroids are illegal and not as stigmatizing as the anti-depressants Taylor was taking). So he took up the misguided cause. But somewhere along the way I believe he realized he was wrong and its now the notoriety and attention that's become his driving force. His interview in "Bigger Stonger Faster' expose this
they showed this video to use in school yesterday I'm in the 8th grade about how steroids where bad, i already knew that obviously, but i thought it was shocking how he hung himself over drugs and i though it was good that they showed us this video, cause it was really interesting to watch and me and alot of kids where paying attention it, and most kids would just say like "omg i won't do drugs" or "whatever it's my life I'll do what I want" think again...
I think all if you guys are idiots who commented below. Its absolutely awesome that his family embraced this situation and created Taylor hooton foundation.
And steroids are the blame! If he didn't start using them in the first place, none of this mess would happen.
Thank you for posting this video, hopefully it can help a kid to rethink in similar situation!
You should gather all the facts before making a claim like that. There were many other drugs found in Taylor's system as well. Had he killed someone else rather than himself I seriously doubt he would have gotton off by using the steroid defense. Let's not forget that he HUNG himself. So it's not like an overdose of steroids can be blamed. It might 've been the anti-depressants he was taking, his homelife or girlfriend issues that was the catalyst.
Someone out there knows the truth, how come the psychiatrist that treated Taylor is never shown nor his/her name given to the public? High school friends and best friends could tell a good part of the truth as well, interview neighbors, family members, teachers and high school counselors to get to the bottom of this shit.
- Dan Hooton:"Taylor's behavior really began to deteriorate in spring 2003"
He hit puberty, which probably explains his strange behavior. Furthermore his break out on the back could also be caused by puberty. So basically the two arguments aren't solid enough.
he even says in the film bigger, faster, stronger that all the arguments about AD's, all the scientific proof DOESN'T MATTER, he blames steroids and is on a mission to destroy them...
he wont accept the truth its to hard for him, for the rest of his life he is going to be chasing this ghost.....society put to much pressure on his kid and possibly himself and he offed himself steroids do not make you psychotic.....for him to try juice at such a young age shows the amount of pressure he had on him.....b/c not every kid goes to those lenghts to get big
because, their father doesn't want to admit that he approved of the anti-depressants. You have to understand, that Taylor's father is on a blame mission to blame anything else but his own responsibility. He killed his son with anti-depressants and drugs but he can't let people know that, so he blames steroids instead.
juice didnt kill that kid he hung himself thats not a side effect from steroids

Are steroids good for kids? Absolutely not.
Do steroids have side effects? Absolutely, but most of them are temporary and can be counteracted with post cycle therapy.
Are steroids the devil and responsible for suicide? .... please.
