@ARCIMIDIS - I do not drink to get drunk; although that is a by-product of consuming in excess of what the human body can process within a given amount of time.
Rather, I enjoy a hoppy beer for what it is, something different than the everyday pils & lagers; a bitter tasting beer. Cheers!
This beer is contract brewed by Mendocino in Saratoga Springs. I've had mixed results with beers made there. Beers made and bottled by Keegan themselves (down in Kingston) are probably way better.
I think you rated this higher than you described it. You don't have to inflate your rating to spare my feelings.
The Brown's Whiskey Barrel Porter is pretty amazing, though. Reminds me of Southern Tier Creme Brulee, but way lighter and slightly smokey. Can't wait to see your review of that one!
@ChadzBeerReviews I'm not inflating my ratings to spare your feelings Chad! This was a good IPA I may have sounded unimpressed but that's only because you sent me other great IPA's. The only beer I feel I inflated was the 90min but we already discussed why that was. Weird you mention the creme brule I actually had one last week. I've got some other beers I want to get to before the Browns Porter, but I'm looking forward to it. Cheers!
@ARCIMIDIS hops have nothing to do with alcohol content. Alcohol is based on the gravity (the ratio of fermentable sugars to non-fermentable sugars). Yeast eats sugar produced by boiling grain and poops out alcohol. Hops are added later in the brewing process and used for bitterness and aroma.
@ARCIMIDIS I personally like IPA's not because of their bitterness (not all IPA's are bitter) I enjoye the citrus notes accompanied by most of them. Cheers.
5 Garrison brews in the lcbo, would like to see some reviews of them if you get a chance. Enjoying the Black IPA now.

I received this beer as part of a shipment from a beer-of-the-month club. It was disappointing; I was expecting more hops. Cheers!
