  • I don't know how many times I would load the game up and just stand there listening to the music for several minutes before doing anything.

  • This song is one of the most nostalgic peices of music I ever heard in my life

  • You know a song is amazing and full of nostalgia when you have a chill go done your spine

  • When I popped this game into my DS and heard this song for the first time in a decade...I knew I was back where I belonged, like I had come home after being away for too long.

  • Skyrim?? Battlefield 3?? chrono trigger bitch...

  • I didnt even know what this song was called, but when I saw the title of this video, I knew it was this song, it just fits the title so well.

  • Chrono Trigger > Ocarina OF Time

  • @mitchchalifoux Eh I think it's hard to compare a JRPG to an adventure/puzzle game. Let's just agree they're both great games.

  • Call of Duty and Halo?

    BITCH PLEASE.

    This is true gaming.

  • @Saigan1511 oh dare you even talk of these game on this beautiful soundtrack

  • Yummy Music

  • This game deserves to be recognized as art.

  • @SteelToedKilla Lol Loved the way you put it!

  • Im 17 and chrono trigger is my favorite rpg video game

and I still listening this music

    man is so relaxing -o-

  • This music made me smile when I started replaying the game in my DS. (:

  • My dad's favorite game and my third favorite, even better than Ocarina of Time. I remember making my first steps into the game, listening to this music, and thinking that an epic adventure was about to unfold. Seriously, the overwhelming nostalgia from this is so great I just want to punch my father for giving his SNES away to my uncle.

  • Oh man, You just don't get games like Chrono Trigger anymore. The game had so much soul and atmosphere and was simply magical. I can't help but play it with a massive smile on my face. The music was just the icing on top of a very, ver, very good cake. Mitsuda and Uematsu are both genius's. I still own this on SNES, boxed and all, and I wouldn't even sell it for any amount because it is more than a game to me.

  • @widdowson91 lol that's kinda dramatic but I feel you

  • @kennethhew It's called liking a game a lot :P

  • @widdowson91 your'e just over reacting dude.... i am sure you will just only trade that for a fleshlight.... lol

  • @xHizukax What, does liking a video game so much mean you can't get a bird? Ha ha, yeah, whatever.

  • never before a midi synth sounds so good...

proof that game dev are more creative back then

  • Good morning, Crono.

  • I took the ferry to the millenial Fair :D

  • I'm kinda getting tired of the "deep" comments on this video.

  • Whats the deal with the cat, and why is it so hard to get food for it

  • best game ever , amazing soundtrack...

    chrono trigger 2 please!!!!

  • AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE MUSIC

  • People could be making masterpieces like this with the technology in Xbox 360s and stuff they could make RPGs like this in 3D and Dialogue and voice actors, but its wasted, wasted on games such as Halo and Call of Duty, maybe people will make this realization some day haha

  • @enetickk Mass Effect and Zelda come to mind. It's not dead. It's just that gaming isn't the niche pasttime that it once was. There's now a bottom line that companies can cater to with games like CoD and rake in money.

That said, Halo had amazing music. I think that the music made Halo a good game. Extra Credits from the Escapist Magazine also has worthwhile things to say on the gaming music subject, too.

  • @LtDonny They still dont have as much story and feeling though

  • @enetickk Some games just don't jive with certain people. Trying to degrade certain types of games, because they appeal to people who love graphics doesn't do anything but alienate. If anything, I believe there is only a lower signal-to-noise ratio now than before, but that's because of the games I'm into. And, besides, I thought Mass Effect and just a fantastic story and feeling behind it. The voice actors and music you wanted went into that game, made 3D, and they added good choices, too.

  • SWEAR TO GOD, my cat just mewed as soon as the music started.

  • this tune brings back great memories of being a teen in high school

  • This song is really... fantastic. Especially after you beat the game and hear it once again. Then you feel how much you've missed this place like it is, those people and this music.

  • Dieses Lied verwandelt Traurigkeit in grenzenlose Freude, es heilt nicht nur seelische Wunden...

    Es ist ... perfekt...

  • I remember those peaceful days, why did I ever trigger time....

  • this.is.music.

    this.is.game.

  • I think we can all agree that any time any of us hears this song, we go back to the days when video games were good. Not just brain dead shooters.

  • @metroprefix Good games have nothing to do with the genre, though - Goldeneye 007 and Perfect Dark are incredible shooter games and actually in the same league as Chrono Trigger (especially Goldeneye 007!).

But I do agree that a lot of games are overly commercial nowadays, there might be some gems like Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater and Ico, but those games are a little too rare.

  • @Laurelindo When i said brain dead shooters I didn't mean Goldeneye 007 or Perfect Dark, I meant the shooters coming out nowadays (like Call of Duty). Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing Call of Duty, they're very addictive and I would probably play it if I had an X-Box or a PS3, but I think they should concentrate more on story and less on graphics. After all that is what makes a game memorable.

  • @metroprefix Yes I understand what you mean.

I feel the same about many games released today, it feels like they developers are a little too focused on showing off impressive graphics and don't quite put their heart and soul into the game as a whole.

But hopefully this will die out when we reach a stage where graphics can no longer be dramatically improved; then the developers will need to impress with something else. ^_^

  • @Laurelindo I pray for that day.

  • I'm not joking, I swear on my life, when I started this video, the cats outside my house all started meowing REAL loud, for a second I thought "the uploader must have added in the sound effects". Too funny

  • Regardless of what people say, i believe all the versions of this song are great. They modified the instruments perfectly in the ps1 and ds versions to suit the new media too. They still retain the charm of the songs anyway. It just sounds more like the real instruments in those versions. Nothing to gripe about

  • siiiiiigh, if I woke up to this song everyday, I'd be in the best mood ever!

    XD

life needs a soundtrack, or at least background music!

  • so bright and beautiful music ... but at the same time, i feel so sad as well.

    such a good music ..

  • From 0:20 on there's a motive similar to the Russian National Anthem in there. huh.

  • this is because of the Rpg's music like this that i become a musician

  • this song brings back memories!!! :D

  • brb setting this song as the alarm clock on my phone.

  • @bizmarkie507

You my friend, are a genius. I will do that to.

  • Great way to start your day.

  • This music has so much heart and love in it.

  • any games people can recommend? I love chrono trigger, kingdom hearts, final fantasy, and dragon quest. Any suggestions?

  • @SephirothBoy13

Super Mario RPG; it's developed by Square and Nintendo. It has a good gameplay, too. And Earthbound; it has it's own style (but yoy have to play it's three games). If you like a non-common RPG game, try Pokémon for any handheld console.

  • @SephirothBoy13 If you like Snes JRPG, I suggest Live-A-Live, Star Ocean, and Tales Of Phantasia.

Their are in my list of favorite RPG,

Live-A-Live graphics looks a lot like Final Fantasy, the battle system has tatical elements though.

Star Ocean has amazing graphics and a cool classic/action battle system, has a sci-fi plot set in a medieval world

Tales Of Phantasia also have good graphics, and an action with classic battle system looks like Star Ocean

  • @SephirothBoy13 Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals - great story, music... classic RPG battles with some variety thrown in...

Tales of Symphonia - Really any Tales game for that matter... namco went all out with these. Active Action battle style is really fun and never really repetitive

Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean - interactive battle system... HORRIBLE voice acting but great music and story...more plot twists than any game EVAR

Phantasy Star IV - classic RPG on Sega Genesis

  • The music in Crono Trigger is awesome, it's hard to choose which one is my favorite, but this DEFINITELY is one of them for me!

As a lot of you have said, this brings back lots of memories and the nostalgia feeling is just so overwhelming that it makes you wonder a lot while hearing this...(at least if you have player crono trigger back in the 90's)

  • I remember playin dis back in 1996 when I wuz 10 years old. Dis and The End Of Time music were tunes dat stuck in my head ever since. I'm 24 now n I still hum em lol. Now I git depressed when I hear dis song now cuz it jus reminded me how life wuz good den. I swear if time machines ever existed..................................

  • This music can literally bring out emotions, it is somewhat magical. You all know the feeling im talking about, if you don't, listen to the music while playing the game. You need to experience this to understand what im talking about.

  • I played this game when i was 7, im 18 now.... has it been that long?

  • @xDoomGazex

I'm 23 now and I remember rocking this at age 9 dude. It's been that long and it will only get more depressing as time goes on to see god tier gaming fade. Time to jump in the Epoch and go back to when gaming had heart.

  • @STDealer I fully agree. Gaming today will never produce a game as memorable as Chrono Trigger. Since the introduction of HD graphics gaming has lost all its soul.

  • @widdowson91

Ah, you forgot that some companies (like Nintendo, but there are others) are trying to experiment with new ideas to hold industry at top. If you can't find a good game on HD consoles, try NDS and Wii (and its Virtual Console); they're trying to erase those terrible tendences, believe me.

  • @magnusLordN Oh I know fully what you mean. The Wii is the only console from the current generation that I actually like. I'm a massive fan of Nintendo, I own all their consoles and I own about 150 of their games across all 5 consoles. I don't think the Wii gets the recognition it deserves, its the best console since the Dreamcast.

  • @widdowson91

Hehe, good... but I still think SNES is the best console ever, it put the basis for all next consoles.

  • @magnusLordN Oh I totally agree. The SNES is awesome

  • @widdowson91

And... we can play many SNES games on Virtual Console! I wish Chrono Trigger was one of them...

  • @magnusLordN I own the original SNES version of Chrono Trigger, so personally I'm not that bothered about it been put on the VC... but it SHOULD be put on the VC - everyone needs to experience Chrono Trigger at least once and the VC will let new gamers world wide play it for a first time. But no, Square-Enix had to release it for the DS for $35... they should have just put on the VC instead for $10. In recent years I've lost a lof of respect for Square. All they are now are money hungry - sadly.

  • @widdowson91

Since Square and Enix joined forces... but, I have to note that this alliance brought us FFIV: The After Years (a good direct sequel, in my opinion because I watched a lot of videos) and two Mario Sports games.

  • @magnusLordN I know they developed Mario Sports Mix, but what other did they do? Personally I'd rather them make a Super Mario RPG 2 instead...

  • @widdowson91

Maybe remakes of FFIII and FFIV to DS? Or, FF:The 4 Heroes of Light (a spin-off that looks like a game from the main series)?

  • @magnusLordN I played the Final Fantasy III remake for the DS, I loved it. I meant which other Mario Sports game did they develop?

  • @widdowson91

    Mario Hoops 3-on-3.

  • @magnusLordN Oh they developed that. Strange I always thought Camelot developed that...

  • @widdowson91

Speaking about Camelot, they developed Golden Sun series for Nintendo Handheld consoles. I think even Square people would like to play this series...

  • just.....hertful.....

  • There's something very timeless about these songs, and of course the game itself.

  • Until now Peaceful Days, Corridors of Time, and Yearnings of the Wind gives me goosebumps, especially this song!

  • Best RPG ever made. Pitty that SquareEnix are a bunch of morons or else we would have a remake of it in 3D by now.

  • i still remember an ending where chrono marry marle...

  • Nostalgia.

  • i feel so sad, that i'm crying now, because life will never be the same, i remember spending all my mornings playing video games and enyoing everything without any preocupation... i wanna be a child again... thanks chrono trigger, this tears are a proof of all the feelings for this game masterpiece. Thank God for Squaresoft. .... life is beautyfull :,(

  • @Megafranz Nice reflection.. I have some regrets for not spending more time outside when younger, but fortunately most games nowadays are not so captivating like chrono trigger or zelda.

  • This music brings back alot of memories.

  • Ah.. How nostalgic. Very soothing.

  • I love the part where you first go back in time where if you go into a certain building you can find Lucca's parents way before Lucca was born. I think you can find Crono's parents somewhere around there aswell...

  • @Adii30 I love the sidequest where you save Lucca's mom.

  • @cloggerguy I did not know about this sidequest.

  • "Oh yeah your inventor friend...what was her name again?"

  • i don't know why but when the song started it sent overwhelming shivers up up my spine... Just Nostalgic...

  • I've always thought of Chrono Trigger being a

half "Dragon Quest" and half "Final Fantasy" sort of game. Cool

  • @EnglishTurtle Chrono Trigger came before Dragon Quest i believe.

  • @Hellman618

No sir, DragonQuest was here back in the early NES days.

  • @EnglishTurtle thats cause dragon ball painter designed both trigger and quest.

as for final fantasy, its squaresoft

  • Uematsu didn't write this, Yasunori Mitsuda did. Mitsuda had all these beautiful melodies in his head and he actually threatened to quit Square-Soft if they didn't let him compose.

  • The most peaceful song i've ever listened to..very relaxing and makes you think of home

  • :')

This song... it never fails to bring a few tears to my eyes when I listen to it...

So many good memories gone by...

  • The cat meowing sound is so CUTE

  • @randompinkmushroom oh look a cat *VRREEEEEEEWF* FUUUUUUUUUU

  • You can get this game for playstation

  • me too...this was my favorite game and i use to play it without a care in the world. Now so much has changed...

  • sigh...same here

  • Man, the memories distilled in this song are endless. I will never forget this song or game. And I will never forget Nobuo Uematsu for his masterpieces.

  • Couldnt have said it better...remember when my brother and I would play this together for hours even when we both knew only one could play at a time.

    Miss those days...

  • it wasnt uematsu...yasunori mitsuda diserves all the credit

  • Gotta love Rpgs without them music like this would never exist!

  • I NEVER fed the cat! HAHAH

  • "Pets run away when you don't feed them!"

    *gets sucked into portal*

  • :3 i love this song

  • One of the greatest RPG town themes in the universe.

  • This song makes me feel like a terrible person who doesn't deserve nothing but a grave!

  • This song is THE perfect way to begin the game

  • My life is like Chorno Trigger.

When I walk outside my home, I see bright sunny days, with birds flying, and the grass and trees are so brightly green/beautiful.

I like that feeling. Summer weather reminds me of CT so much :)

  • Well, unless you're in the future of the game. Not so beautiful then. :D

  • this game is awsome

  • Such a beautiful music.

  • I think I will start to cry :(

  • Sometimes this song just pops into my head for no reason.

  • Wow...for some reason..while listening to this song...I hear Chrono's cat meowing......ahhh....nostalgia...=]

  • Thanks alot.... now i hear crono's cat!!!!

  • Haha! Mew mew!

  • Wow, when I read that I could vividly hear it, too =D

  • Man, why did you do that? Now I hear it too.

  • great... look what you did! now i hear the darn cat. also remember the blinds being opened by the mother!!

  • I thought Undersea Palace was my fav...then I remembered this...and magus battle...and robo's theme...and the wind scene...and courage and pride...uh!! I can't decide! ALL the music on this game is the best!

  • This theme is more moving to me than any classical music I've heard

  • When people ask me why I love video games, I point them to this song and game as why.

  • Beautiful! This theme is a cute present for the beginning of the game!

  • love this game

  • Their fighting Hecranh

  • Just as the title suggest, this one is so peaceful. I want to walk in a long stretch grassland with a blue sky and Sun..

  • (sorry for double comment) funny i have a million things going on in life right now nothing troublesome just stressful and when i listen to this it just makes forget about all my troubles... ahhh this game is the only thing ever to have greater than any other music in the world

  • Lol funny how game themes would be good for some real life places, for example this theme would be great for my little pitstop town, quaint place but peaceful and cozy :)

  • 1995- 'Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, in November 1994 Final Fantasy IV peaceful days, indeed.

And on Jan. 17, 1996 the Dallas Cowboys, who were actually referenced in the game. won the Super Bowl. And the Metroplex has not found contentment ever since.

  • Woot Earthbound lol

  • hey I have play FF3 (AND IT WAS GREAT) though Ii think chrono trigger was better. if i had to vote : CHRONO TRIGGER THE BEST!!

  • This game is cool , but cover... LUCA HAS FIRE POWER xD

  • Chrono Trigger - Tales Of Destiny - Earthbound - Star Ocean Second Story - top omg ftw's <3

  • Not many games has music that'll make you cry while remembering it. This game pwned(still does).

  • The greatest RPG not named Final Fantasy...

  • @SpeedyStorm No, it's just the greatest RPG ever. Chrono Trigger betters any Final Fantasy title.

  • @SpeedyStorm This is an old comment, and I respect your opinion, but to me and many others, Xenogears, another game with music from Yasunori Mitsuda, is the most brilliant and amazing game ever made.

    Check it out folks.

  • mitsuda is the master!!!

  • I think the title "Peaceful days" fits perfectly the song. :)

  • I love this song. It just so perfect for Chrono get outside and see seagull and beautiful lands and see clouds :D

  • Dam it I love this game,

  • This song is the opening to this game ,we can't dislike it

  • not really the opening, let call this "the beginning".

  • This melody asolutely blew me away the first time I heard it, and I still can't believe my ears.

  • This song makes me think of when I was 7 years old, 77° outside, slight breeze, laying on the green grass of the back yard, looking up at the puffy clouds slowly drifting by in the bright blue sky...ahhh not a care in the world...

  • That is almost exactly what I think of when I listen to this!

Blue sky with beautiful white clouds, and the grass is so light green! And you could just could watch.

This is a good song to listen to while staring at clouds

  • You should start writing poems, today. :D

  • I only recently played this, but for some reason, this brings back many memories. How powerful... :/

  • This is the kind of melody you could start a New Game for, just so you could listen to it.

That's the sign of true quality music!

  • My friend's cat likes this song.

  • Isn't that great when that happens, animals responding to music :)

  • Yeah! I found it amazing! Usually, cats don't like the noise, but there's something very powerful in this song.

  • I just tried it. My cat doesn't like the song. :P

  • This music talks to me. It says: "Cheer up! Look at all those great times you had :) "

  • all the music of chrono trigger are good.

  • Man...this song makes me think of when I moved out of the city and to the suburbs, when summer just began when I was younger. I would just play outside everyday, being happy and carefree...that summer was just perfect. I can't wait for this to come to the DS!
