Placebo effect wouldn't work on animals, that's why there are vets using homeopathy in their practices, around the country. I've used homeopathy successfully on myself to save an abscessed tooth and my GP prescribed me with: Belladonna to treat mastitis, as I'm severely allergic to antibiotics.
@Amygdala100 Actually yes the Placebo affect does work on animals. Analysed, proved and reproducible. Confirmation bias?

@TetsugakuSan Doctors expect some of their patients to experience homeopathic aggravation -a temporary worsening of existing symptoms after taking a properly prescribed homeopathic remedy. Also, It is never admissible to prescribe remedies for such long periods of time, and certainly not in the same potency, which will almost always result in ill-effects to the patient.

@Amygdala100 It's not wishful thinking, unlike your misplaced belief in Homeopathy, it's a quantifiable, provable repeatably phenomena.

@rsnuggetftw yes - your body gets better ALL ON IT'S OWN - does yours not? What a shame maybe you'll shuffle off this mortal coil and we won't have to put up with any of your garbage any more :)
You've been using wishful thinking and the placebo affect on your friends and family for two years.
This is because Homeopathy doesn't work. It really really really doesn't work.
What works best for you is proper drugs from a proper doctor. Just like it works best for me. You could hope for help from magic sky fairies but they aren't going to help you either.
A recent study in the International Journal of Oncology demonstrated that four ultra-diluted homeopathic medicines exerted preferential cytotoxic effects against two breast cancer cell lines.
Frenkel M et al. (2010): Cytotoxic effects of ultra-diluted remedies on breast cancer cells. International Journal of Oncology, 36: 395-403.
On the flip side, I took three antibiotic pills as a kid, thinking they were candies. I never got treatment for the mistake and never felt any ill effects. More recently, I mistook a friend's prescription medication for an herbal supplement. Once again, never summoned poison control and had no ill effects.
If big Pharma themselves could find a way to make money from Homeopathy they would be doing it already. The only little snag is that they would have to somehow provide some peer reviewed proof that their new water based wonder drug demonstrated repeatable efficacy in trials. Oh well, back to dull old real science.
Sorry, Camera Lady but I am afraid somene didn't do their research properly as one whole bottle of homeopathic remedy is only the same as one dose. To get a reaction with the Arsen Alb he would have to take one tablet every couple of hours over a few days. Even then your hubby would probably only get an upset tummy so you wouldn't be able to cash in on his life insurance.
"Crock of S+++" I presume you are talking about the demo which has been great publicity for us homeopaths. Most people thought it was a demo in favour of homeopathy.
As it happens I do believe distance healing may be possible. As to faeries at the bottom of the garden I personally haven't seen any so I can't confirm or deny this. I do however keep an open mind until I see conclusive proof with my own eyes not what I am told by flat earthers, cynics, or Big Pharma.
Anyone thick enough to think it was a pro-demo probably won't be long for this world, I'm not that worried about that.
News Flash: Who promotes all the pro Homeopathy things around the world Big Homeo ? :D
Homeopathy is worth $3 billion per year in the states alone, if there was any way of backing up all the crap you claim it does, *someone* *somewhere* would have been able to prove it, it can't be for lack of money.
It doesn't work, really. We can prove it using Science yeah?
$3 billion per year in the US, golly homeopathy's fame is spreading no wonder Big Pharma is worried and turning there guns on us poor homeopaths. By the way 70% of the work I do is free. I work with the homeless and troops coming back from Afganistan so I am not rich.
It's funny, despite the fact that I have control over this thread and I could delete your comments, I haven't, I wonder if I'd be shown the same courtesy on some pro homeopathy persons profile...
...Anyway, you're telling me you've been treating the homeless and military vets? The sort of people who are likely to have little money, low eduaction levels and already have mental distress of various levels? Well I'm sorry if I don't consider that a proper test group.
Face it, there isn't a single properly controlled, independently verified test saying that Homeopathy has *ANY* benefit *AT ALL*.
It's because it doesn't work. The industry has the money to conduct these tests but tell me, why haven't they? Surely they'd love to spread the love further? Get more people taking the cures? Save us all from big Pharma?
Or maybe, just maybe, you're just as much a puppet of 'Big Homeo' as the people you purport to be under the control of big pharma?
Oh and the word is 'Skeptic' not 'Cynic' - personally I think it would be great if Homeopathy *did* work, think of all the money we'd save?
But the simple facts are it's delusional and I really don't have the strength of mind to believe two completely contradictory ideologies.
Yes that's the one side of you that uses the internet and satellite weather forecasts and the other side that deludes yourself into thinking water has a memory. (only a memory of all the good things of course)
Google the words "water, journal, homeopathy" and you should get a report by scientists explaining how homeopathy works.
Taking your example about satellite weather forecasts. Sometimes something simple like looking at a barometer or even the sky can tell you the weather you don't always need complicated techno stuff. Likewise homeopathy is simple but powerful.
If you want to know further than a couple of hours you need to look further than there....
don't worry as soon as you get a proper disease rather than a vague sense of unease, or even, more money than sense, you'll come knocking on the door of a proper doctor. Or you'll drop dead I suppose.
That guy on the left in the woolly hat - is he a lurker? (or what are the people who but their face in the TV camera frame behind news reporters, called?)

What works best for you is proper drugs from a proper doctor. Just like it works best for me. You could hope for help from magic sky fairies but they aren't going to help you either.
Homeopathy - it's a lot of old crap.

A recent study in the International Journal of Oncology demonstrated that four ultra-diluted homeopathic medicines exerted preferential cytotoxic effects against two breast cancer cell lines.

On the flip side, I took three antibiotic pills as a kid, thinking they were candies. I never got treatment for the mistake and never felt any ill effects. More recently, I mistook a friend's prescription medication for an herbal supplement. Once again, never summoned poison control and had no ill effects.

Re "Big Pharma"
If big Pharma themselves could find a way to make money from Homeopathy they would be doing it already. The only little snag is that they would have to somehow provide some peer reviewed proof that their new water based wonder drug demonstrated repeatable efficacy in trials. Oh well, back to dull old real science.

Was this London Road?
You should have done it in North St.
I suppose London Rd is closer to the Caroline of Brunswick. See you there for Richard Wiseman.

I am the Camera Lady. My husband seems to be very much alive, still. Damn you, homeopathy, you've let me down again... ;)
(Note to self: oil the joints on that bloody tripod!)
1220charlee 2 years ago
Sorry, Camera Lady but I am afraid somene didn't do their research properly as one whole bottle of homeopathic remedy is only the same as one dose. To get a reaction with the Arsen Alb he would have to take one tablet every couple of hours over a few days. Even then your hubby would probably only get an upset tummy so you wouldn't be able to cash in on his life insurance.

What a crock of shit :D
Bet you believe in distance healing and faeries at the bottom of the garden as well.
TetsugakuSan 2 years ago
"Crock of S+++" I presume you are talking about the demo which has been great publicity for us homeopaths. Most people thought it was a demo in favour of homeopathy.
As it happens I do believe distance healing may be possible. As to faeries at the bottom of the garden I personally haven't seen any so I can't confirm or deny this. I do however keep an open mind until I see conclusive proof with my own eyes not what I am told by flat earthers, cynics, or Big Pharma.
arnicaworks 2 years ago
Anyone thick enough to think it was a pro-demo probably won't be long for this world, I'm not that worried about that.
News Flash: Who promotes all the pro Homeopathy things around the world Big Homeo ? :D
Homeopathy is worth $3 billion per year in the states alone, if there was any way of backing up all the crap you claim it does, *someone* *somewhere* would have been able to prove it, it can't be for lack of money.
It doesn't work, really. We can prove it using Science yeah?
TetsugakuSan 2 years ago
$3 billion per year in the US, golly homeopathy's fame is spreading no wonder Big Pharma is worried and turning there guns on us poor homeopaths. By the way 70% of the work I do is free. I work with the homeless and troops coming back from Afganistan so I am not rich.
arnicaworks 2 years ago
It's funny, despite the fact that I have control over this thread and I could delete your comments, I haven't, I wonder if I'd be shown the same courtesy on some pro homeopathy persons profile...
...Anyway, you're telling me you've been treating the homeless and military vets? The sort of people who are likely to have little money, low eduaction levels and already have mental distress of various levels? Well I'm sorry if I don't consider that a proper test group.
TetsugakuSan 2 years ago
Face it, there isn't a single properly controlled, independently verified test saying that Homeopathy has *ANY* benefit *AT ALL*.
It's because it doesn't work. The industry has the money to conduct these tests but tell me, why haven't they? Surely they'd love to spread the love further? Get more people taking the cures? Save us all from big Pharma?
Or maybe, just maybe, you're just as much a puppet of 'Big Homeo' as the people you purport to be under the control of big pharma?
It doesn't work
TetsugakuSan 2 years ago
Oh and the word is 'Skeptic' not 'Cynic' - personally I think it would be great if Homeopathy *did* work, think of all the money we'd save?
But the simple facts are it's delusional and I really don't have the strength of mind to believe two completely contradictory ideologies.
Yes that's the one side of you that uses the internet and satellite weather forecasts and the other side that deludes yourself into thinking water has a memory. (only a memory of all the good things of course)
TetsugakuSan 2 years ago
Google the words "water, journal, homeopathy" and you should get a report by scientists explaining how homeopathy works.
Taking your example about satellite weather forecasts. Sometimes something simple like looking at a barometer or even the sky can tell you the weather you don't always need complicated techno stuff. Likewise homeopathy is simple but powerful.
arnicaworks 2 years ago
If you want to know further than a couple of hours you need to look further than there....
don't worry as soon as you get a proper disease rather than a vague sense of unease, or even, more money than sense, you'll come knocking on the door of a proper doctor. Or you'll drop dead I suppose.
