  • This is sooooo not funny compare to the American version

  • The American Office sucks, The UK version is a million times better. Americans Wouldn't know a decent joke if it flew into a tower and hit them!

  • is gareth the guy with one eye from pirates of the caribbean?!! he looks JUST like him!

  • @saigeydooo Yes, that's the same actor.

  • After the office, Ricky became a bit complacent, don't you think?

  • ...I'm from the US and I love both versions. :-D

  • This is hilarious.

Although, somehow I can't see this conversation happening on American TV.

  • omfg :P this always gets me.. UK Office is awesome..

  • Fuck off Lee! I hate when he comes in in the end and ruins it for them. But I guess that made Dawn see who she really should be with

  • this is just the funniest thing ever to me...i love the uk version so much more than the us version

  • .... Did you ever notice how humorless the discussions about humor are?

  • this is the original and best version ,for those who prefer the american version...you just dont get the point ....

  • Jim and Pam are a little bit prettier.. Even Dwight is hotter.. At least, that's what I think.. :P

  • Nice word play. I really like British comedy.

Are Tim and Dawn the equivalent to Jim and Pam in the U.S. version?

  • How can anyone even begin to think this is better than america's? I mean come on really?

  • @kidkong584 yeah! we much prefer obvious less intelligent humour thats is watered down for mass audience appeal ,who could prefer the frankly better ,groundbreaking influential uk office !!!!??? i,ll stick with the mentally handicapped and prefer the american version

  • @whitebigpolarbear If this was the 1920's, this type of humor would be funny in America. But this is 2010 and we've moved on from this kind of shit humor. The American version is realistic for people living in Scranton. That one is like a real office scene. This one takes forever to have a joke and they all spend half the show laughing at it. It seriously sucks compared to America's version.

  • @kidkong584 american humour ahead??? are you kidding ? american tv uses british tv for inspiraration constantly, sanford and son ,friends, all in the family are all british,i could go on for ages... plus u.s remakes "skins", shameless, queer as folk, cracker, british humour is currently the best in the world ,unless of course your a little more lowbrow and like cartoons southpark ,family guy etc which speaks volumes

  • @whitebigpolarbear Well it's obvious that we can sit here debating this for hours and never reach a conclusion. You think your version is better, I think my version is better. I don't think either of us are ever going to be able to change each other's opinions on that. While i was looking through the comments on this vid, I realized that it's pretty sad that we're all here fighting over a TV show.

  • @kidkong584 "You think your version is better, i think mine is" Correction, we think our ORIGINAL is better, Like he said America copies a lot from England in comedy and tries too remake it, The American version of this is OK if you like predictable jokes and simple humor, The UK too date is the worlds hot spot for comedy, comedians from all over the world come here, hell most American comedians even live here! It's a shame your mind is too simple to get smart humor your missing out big time :(.

  • @TheSaintAza Wow. Does it honestly matter whose came first? I personall find your version to be boring and immature. You can say whatever you want to say about mine, it's not going to change my opinion.

  • @TheSaintAza Haha yeah it does matter, Remember who brought you the ORIGINAL, without us you wouldn't even have your version, Your either in your teens and do not understand the humor or your a poorly educated adult, Please compare the kind of jokes the US version uses and then the UK's original and then come back and say which uses more immature and predictable comedy, although that's stupid to ask of you, your obviously another typical American who refuses to give another country props haha.

  • 'youre doing a full body search. you find something hard, he can feel it. do you just say to him 'i know youve got a big weapon, give it to me now'? or...? '

one of the best bits in the whole series.

  • I like Tim's face at 1:32

  • @CottageLife100 WTF is your problem? What do you have against British people?Americans are the ones with the highest rate in obesity. I can't believe that me, an American citizen, has to be correcting you about this sort of thing. Ignorant bag.

  • lol this is awesome. thanks for uploading. ^_^

  • Why on earth is this subtitled?

  • @Soidisons I added subtitles for a friend of mine.

  • @jadetraveler

I'm glad you did. I'm going to use this for a transcript in my scriptwriting class.

  • man, brits are really ugly people lol. I met one last night, kid looked like a monkey lol.

  • @CottageLife100 Well if your American, you have Rocky's mom. You lose.

  • @itzLeo Rocky's mom? What does that even mean? I was just stating an obvious fact, Brits are fucking monstrous to look at, with those bad teeth and monkey ears. Disgusting.

  • @CottageLife100 Lol, you guido twat. The American Office is like the Teletubbies and the The Office is like Shakespeare, ask around.

  • @CottageLife100 - If you was British you would of got the joke. Rocky (sylvester Stallone)'s mom (jackie Stallone) is American and look how pretty she is.

  • @itzLeo "would of got the joke" isnt English. It's moron language.

  • @Soidisons

Another youtube grammer king. Is your life really that dull?

  • @Soidisons It kind of is our language... we know how to speak it best

  • @CottageLife100 Lol your such a retard. The whole Southern part of your country consists of inbred toothless cattle fuckers, and the northern part, just fat morons

  • @CottageLife100 So you judge ALL British people based on ONE slightly unfortunate person that you met?

  • @CottageLife100 Yeah I know, like those fat bloated Americans who stuff their faces with burgers constantly.

Because in our world STEREOTYPE = DEFINITION. :)

  • @CottageLife100 San Marino?

Swarthy ugly big nosed girls. No thanks. You're ignored.

  • good old LEE

  • class parts the best one was the first one

  • i've only ever watched the US version but i can soooo tell that this is supposed to be jim, dwight, and pam xD

  • I'm half swiss-american and the first time I heard "The office uk" I couldn't understand a thing. but after watching the whole episode over and over again, I can really say the words in my head and it's so easy to understand! the office UK 4ever!!! i wish it could go on, I only saw episode 1, 2 and the xmas special. will they make another episode?? does someone know?

  • @m2a2n2o2n No, the UK version of The Office was only made for 2 years, and as far as I know, they have no plans to make any more episodes.

  • @jadetraveler that's a pity :( it's one of the best pieces of brittish humour since Monty Python!

  • @m2a2n2o2n I'm half dutch but i can understand every word.

  • you cant say that one countries accent is more clearer than another because inside the country the accent is always different. In australia, our accent can sometimes be very suttle and you can barely notice it but other areas the accent sounds like steve irwin. so niether america or england have a more clearer or prestine accent.

  • UK version is way better! Although I always think that Stephen Merchant would have made a better Garreth (Gerreth?) :P

  • wheres the normal people who just say yeah thats really funny

  • Comedy writing differs in Britain, where usually just one or two people write the comedy, in contrast to the American system, which has a group of writers working on each programme. That's why the UK Office was only two series (seasons).

  • i like the US version wayyyy better i dont get this version

  • @samanthasapato americans dont understand comendy

  • I'm german and I have serious problems understanding this british accent...

how about you americans? do you understand that?

never watched an episode of the british version, but the US versions is just perfect.

  • @TheLockestern I'm American, and often I am able to understand British accents, but I think that's because I've watched plenty of TV shows and movies with British actors, so I'm used to it.

Since Germany is closer to England than the US, I figured that the British accent would be more commonly heard in Germany than the US. I was also in Germany once and briefly attended an English class there, and the teacher spoke with a more British accent.

  • @jadetraveler

well in germany all of the tv shows and movies on tv are all in german, which I personally hate, so we don't hear alot of different languages around in the tv or so.

but you're right in school it's always british english, cause it's ..."cleaner" ;)

but I stick with the american english, way better in my opinion.

  • @TheLockestern When I was visiting Germany, I thought it was interesting to watch some of my favorite TV shows from the US dubbed in German. :)

I think some American spellings makes more sense too (such as "color" instead of "colour", etc.).

  • @jadetraveler

It might make it easier, but only in the same way newspeak made things easier in 1984. Often the American simplifications make words lose their original meaning.

    Example:

Paediatrics - paed from Greek. paid- (stem of pais "child")

Branch of medicine dealing with children.

Pedicure - ped from Latin pedis (gen. of pes "foot")

    Care of the feet

AmE: Pediatrics and Pedestrian. Maybe in America Pediatricians treat foot problems?

  • @twilko You have a good point about keeping spellings to preserve meanings. I've often wondered why "pediatricians" are doctors specializing in child medicine rather than doctors who treat foot problems. Instead, "podiatrists" are those who treat foot problems.

It would be good to have a more consistent language. Since English is made up of word roots from Greek, Latin, and other languages, some things have become inconsistent and distorted over time.

  • I like the US version, but the UK is so much more quotable and funnier.

  • this is funny but i can honestly say that the US version is a lot funnier

  • lol

  • She's beautiful, what's wrong with her being curvy? People like you are the reason people starve themselves to be thin.

  • @FranBMan I don't mind having fatties around, I just don't find them attractive. I can't control that. I can't make myself like them.

  • Er What? 1:23

  • Comment removed

  • i love tim at 1:27 to 1:35 XD his laugh

  • Its waccy-bacci. Like wacko-tobacco.

  • Thanks, I've made the correction.

I've never heard either of those terms before. hehe

  • I like watching Jim and Pam too. But after watching the British version, though, I kinda prefer the British version for its comedy. They did things in the British version that they wouldn't get away with on American TV, such as the swear words, the inflatable penis balloon, and the episode where someone had put a dildo on Brent's desk.

  • thats basically what makes the office so great... american version must be shite

  • Noooo both the UK and US version are amazing in their own way :D

  • @pinkplaidpunkgirl I hate them. Every time they start doing their stupid little jokes I just want to choke them.

  • why do people wanna bring in the US version.. get over it!

I love the chemistry between Tim and dawn..Gareth is so irritating but very endearing at the same time.

  • Awesome piece of scriptwriting and acting, the U.S version just couldn't do this

  • classic lool

  • It totally sucks that this show was only 2 seasons long. This show was the best!

  • I agree, but I heard that it lasted only 2 seasons because they didn't want to possibly ruin the show by stretching it out longer.

  • Well thank God for DVD! And thank you for posting these so we can enjoy them!

  • Not only was it 2 seasons, but UK shows also have much shorter seasons as well.

  • I didn't know UK shows have shorter seasons. I did notice though that the episodes of the UK version of The Office were 29 minutes, which is longer than a US half-hour show (about 22-23 minutes).

  • Good point - too many shows are ruined because they're too on too long. Seinfeld, Cheers...those are two great examples.

  • Another example is The Simpsons. While The Simpsons was always one of my favorite shows, it has been on the air for 20 years now. I haven't watched it in many years, mainly because I started to lose some interest in it.

I remember watching The Simpsons when I was a kid, when it first appeared. Now I'm old enough to have had kids of my own!

  • Nice to see a rare moment of Tim & Gareth getting along.

  • that's not to say that the us office isn't a brilliant show in its own right. however, it's true, fcc laws really limit what the us one can do and say. i mean, they've come close to crossing that line.

  • the uk office is so much better than the us office. seriously with the censoring in america this funny stuff would never make it on the air.

  • I agree. Unfortunately, the UK office only lasted 2 years.

  • Ohhh I LUV winding up Gareth!!! Thank You!

  • dude, is that raghetti??

  • dude, is that raghetti??

  • It's the guy who plays him.

  • i love this clip so much! :P

"could you give a man a lethal blow" haha

  • lmao i love tims face at 1:30

  • aww poor gareth..I watch the US one but Gareth there is so poor thing lol

  • oh gareth
