Freddie Mercury.Brian May..Roget Taylor.John Deacon..you lived up to your name...Queen. ahahaha 2.04 john plays a G instead of E... he thought the riff was to the end.. and brian laughs when realizes the mistake... great john.. forever the best
The Red Special-Yes! But know this. To create the profoundly sublime in awesomeness and break the mold through the bitter-sweet laberynth of time and change.-One of a kind can't begin to explain, R.I.P. Harold May and thank you for gracing the earth.
Great dads' are rare, but Brian May is envied for more than meets the eye.
@0108955178 Kool! I saw them with Billy Squire opening in the early (way early) 80's, I got to watch Brian Mays solo from about 15 feet away!! The true good old days!!
@amerilioxxx90 Back in 77, they already used stereo PA system, and his main guitar panned to center, and 1st and 2nd delay unit were assigned to left and right. so at concert, his tone was flying left to right and it was cool enough in 70's. BM was just pointing out the direction of delay signal to entertain the audience.

BM was just pointing out the direction of delay signal to entertain the audience.
I love Queen...really I do...but Roger Taylor so ripped off Keith Moon with his style of playing...If you're going to rip someone off, then Keith is a good person, but nobody can play like Keith can and he and The Who had a more synergistic relationshp than Queen did! I'm not here to criticise Queen though. I think they're one of the best groups this country has ever produced and we will never see Freddie Mercury's like again, which is a very sad thing.
Keith was Roger's favourite drummer, it's a bit normal if their is similar... it's not ripping off... if people said "YOU RIPPED HIM OFF !!!" each time someone tries to get inspiration from someone else... music would really suck.
they were going throw alot of shit from critics at this time. but they showed all the critics with the shows at earls court. something like 2 23,000 sold out shows. when the critics are saying that rock and roll is dead and decadent music is 6 feet under and that punk music is here to stay. well they were very wrong when queen kept selling out venues and craking america. well queen went far beyond the punk era and even the 80's glam period
Well...he derived inspiration from some guy called Jimi Hendrix. Brian, Freddie and Roger were all Hendrix freaks. Freddie saw him 13 nights in a row at pubs & clubs around London.
roger taylor is one of the best singers, listen to ogre battle, in the lap of the gods live at the rainbow and bohemian rhapsody FOR ME, why don't you try singing falsetto, high notes and harmonies at the same time as ultra quick drumming you fat lazy pig
perfetto!! questa e' musica cazzo!!!!! QUEEN e tanti gruppi anni 70,perche' la vera musica e' dei 70,non degli anni 80 come molti sostengono. la musica, il rock ...l'arte...e marchiato anni '70!!!!
Actually, I think you'll find that the delay repeat was created by three 'Echoplex' machines (one left, one right and one mid) and an 'Eventide' rack mount harmoniser was applied to the guitar or vocals through the P.A. by the sound op. The Echoplex tape cartidge had been cut down to the exact timing that was needed to produce natural harmoniously sounding repeats.
As far as I know Brian only used two of the Echoplex machines at a time. He had them panned to the amps to the right and left with the middle amp as the dry signal.
good man, very good. Ha i somehow made some sort of tone like that experimenting with line six amps, Its frusterating when you forget to save your creations.
Around 1974 he was probably using a tape loop or an echoplex to get the repeat effects and multiple guitar harmonies. You had to be very skilled to use this technique. Now we can do this on a POD with ease.
so true he played it exact how it sounds on the studio recorded and edited version lol not many guitarists can do that brian may rocks check my videos out please if u want
For a guy who first got his hand on a so-so soundwise Earls court audio bootleg back in the early 80s, I just have to say that this is just amazing sound quality! Just why doesn't Queen clean up some of their classic 70s shows and have them officially released?
i no its just like zeppelin and floyd they have great footage but won't release it but u can get it on soulseek if u download it or by torrenting and other of there footage
Queenlive1974, you are missing the last five monutes of the piece. There is a second part to this where Brian plays bits of Frere Jacques and Three Blind Mice in the solo and John and Roger come back out and jam then they play the end of Brighton Rock.
Everybody in this venue is entitled to their opinion as that is one of our rights under our US Constitution. The right to free speech. Yes, Queen was a British rock group, but for all the negative people out there, my opinion is Queen was and STILL IS the GREATEST rock group around. I have been a fan since 1973.
My 19 year old son has liked metal for a few years. I got him to listen to a couple of Queen songs. Now he likes them. He has to admit "They are Pretty Good",
Before they had digital samplers, they had the ECHO-PLEX,which I believe used an analog tape loop to get the echo effect. Brian May definitely took the echo-plex further than anyone else I have ever heard.
Btw, does anyone knoe where I can find a video of a very early Brighton Rock, called something like "Brian May's best musical night"? I have it in my favourites, but it's been made private, so I can't watch it :o(
