Question for Dan the Man: In this particular video in which I'm posting the question you mentioned the idea that if you bring in ships with orbital fire, it kills the infantry story. Has it been considered, or maybe has it occurred and I missed it, books on 40k Ship-to-Ship combat? I know your good friend William King has done some scenes and you did in Sabbat Martyr, but I think a focused book on that type of combat would be intriguing, to say the least.

Bragg, Corbec & Caffran were all pretty tragic.. Primarily for HOW they died.  None of them died charging into glorious combat and taking down Blood Pact warriors.

one of the best books ive ever read was 'only in death' i was sure everyone was a gonner i really did !!! especially since i didnt know of blood pact at the time i thought this was the end and thats it!(what else would you expect from a life in the gaurd other than to die a horrible death?) the suspense was brilliant, the imagery of hinzerhaus was superbly translated to the reader. the return of sorric!! wow! all in all an amazing read i think ill pick back up! and oh roll on rav Vs eis!

I cant help but keep thinking of Mr. Abnett and the other big BL authors as some form of Primarch. :p In more ways than one, they have really given some colors and shadows to the actual Primarchs.

So...am I right in saying that the SIGNIFICANT death at the end of Sabbat Martyr might have been avoided if Honour Guard hadn't been lost? Bloody hell, that was the most painful one in the whole series IMO.
