I know I'm dipping into the hypothetical here, but had Nightwish bothered to do justice to their catalog, they would have found a soprano with the proper musical sense and operatic quality. There are better replacements!

That said, I think the real reason they wanted her gone was that Tarja's husband was driving a wedge (TOTALLY MALE YOKO ONO), and also they wanted to go more 'mainstream' and/or goth like Evanescence and Within Temptation, but couldn't justify it to the fans, so she had to go.

@Treardaful sorry, i forgot it, i wrote that of course tarja wouldn´t sing these songs as anette beause she would sing better than this girl, and in live her voice doesn´t lose in the high notes. i don´t hate anette not get me wrong, it´s just my opinion. Anette sings well but her voice is very common and doesn´t stand out from other groups of symphonic power metal.

if opera singers try to be brave enough to use belting, they can damage their voice. With classical techniques, anette could've sing them with lesser mistakes live.

Tarja's voice isn't special when you hear other classical singers. In an opera, she isn't more talented than many of the other classical singers. With her wide natural vocal range and talent, If anette had chose to be a classical singer, probably she would have more succesful carrier than tarja would have.

@Treardaful Tarja can use both her head and chest voice, she also belts in many songs. for me her voice is in fact special b/c she can sing as an alto, mezzosoprano, full lyric soprano and even coloratura, which makes her sound astonishing in both opera & metal songs.I don't know any classical singer that can sing metal like her, that makes her unique. and Anette couldn't have been a classical singer b/c she doesn't have the vocal range for it (Im not disrespecting her,she's a good singer)

@Treardaful true, I'm sick of all this ridiculous "war" over both singers, they deserve respect. many don't like Anette and it's ok but they should stop their trolling, and the same thing is going now with Tarja. ppl need to understand they're both great in their own styles :) i think that at some point we all think the same way but get carried away anyway b/c of the hating comments and it's really sad :/
